It is argued that there are people who live in his grace that they live in a state of hyper grace a free ticket to sin and still be in Christ, on the other hand some believe in not sinnings at all perfectionism then again others work hard to live in righteousness and are aware they sin but seem to not be concerned.
I wonder is grace a blanket to fall on when we screw up or rather is it empowerment to overcome sin?
I believe empowerment to overcome sin while knowing when we slip up we rest in his forgiveness fits the bill, sin has no power in Christ and if his grace is forgiceness of sin then we can be emowered to overcome sin
brother consider why this man was forgiven all his debt
“Therefore is
the kingdom of heaven likened unto a certain king, which would take account of his servants. ( everyone will be judged according to thier deeds )
And when he had begun to reckon,
one was brought unto him, which owed him ten thousand talents. But forasmuch as he had not to pay, his Lord commanded him to be sold, and his wife, and children, and all that he had, and payment to be made. ( the man owes more than he can pay for so he and his family are to be sold )
The servant therefore
fell down, and worshipped him, saying, Lord, have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. ( the man has reached a point of repentance from his heart )
Then the Lord of that servant was moved with compassion, and loosed him, and forgave him the debt. “
Matthew 18:23-27, 34 KJV
wow what a merciful and loving Lord but
then after this happens the same man
“But
the same servant went out, and found one of his fellowservants, which owed him an hundred pence: and
he laid hands on him, and took him by the throat, saying, Pay me that thou owest. And his fellowservant fell down at his feet, and besought him, saying, Have patience with me, and I will pay thee all. And he would not: but went and cast him into prison, till he should pay the debt.
( the man refused to share the mercy and grace which saved him after he was already forgiven all his debt by the lord his actions then are reported to the lord )
So when his fellowservants saw what was done, they were very sorry, and came and
told unto their Lord all that was done. Then his Lord, after that he had called him, said unto him, O thou wicked servant, I forgave thee all that debt, because thou desiredst me: ( he’s acknolwedging he had forgiven the debt )
shouldest not thou also have had compassion on thy fellowservant, even as I had pity on thee?
And
his Lord was wroth, and delivered him to the tormentors, till he should pay all that was due unto him.
So
likewise shall my heavenly Father do also unto you, if ye from your hearts forgive not every one his brother their trespasses.”
Matthew 18:28-35 KJV
What I’m meaning to share with you brother is under grace Jesus teachings rule the day and grace becomes reciprocal . How we treat others as Christian’s , how we judge others and forgive others is the measire of judgement we also ourselves will receive when it’s time to face the lord
We can walk in the spirit of grace and mercy taught in the gospel by the lord and judge of all
“
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.
Judge not, and ye shall not be judged:
condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned:
forgive, and ye shall be forgiven:
give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom.
For
with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
Luke 6:36-38
Jesus taught this a lot how we judge and treat other people is going to be reflected in our own judgement day we can walk in the word of Christ that gives us liberty and freedom and offers mercy and grace like above there and so this day comes with the knowledge that because I’m imperfect , and need mercy , I also need to treat others with that same measure of grace and patience and compassion and forebearance
“For
we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.”
2 Corinthians 5:10 KJV
If I follow Jesus ways of mercy and forgiving others then also I have his promise of forgiveness for my own sins
Which I fail and fall at times and are the exception and not the rule to live by as I follow the lords ways I can expect mercy and grace when it comes to judgement
Gods true grace brother is found in the lords teachings in the gospel and changes everything
“So
speak ye, and so do, as they that shall be judged by the law of liberty. For
he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and
mercy rejoiceth against judgment.”
James 2:12-13 KJV
be merciful and you’ll receive mercy is for sinners yet to be perfected as we are , a well in the desert because it comes with Christs judgement that if we forgive we’ll be forgiven if we don’t condemn we won’t be condemned if we don’t judge others we won’t be judged ourselves if we give mercy it will be given To us
We tend to tie obedience back to Moses law but it’s meant to go to Jesus teachings which are vastly different
