Then Jesus, looking at him, loved him, and said to him, One thing you lack: Go your way, sell whatever you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, take up the cross, and follow Me. Mark 10:21

But the man was saddened at Jesus’ words, and he left grieving, because he owned much property and had many possessions [which he treasured more than his relationship with God]. Mark 10:22

For many are called, but few are chosen Matthew 22:14

Apparently the man needed to pray in accordance with MK 9:24, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!"

The man asked the wrong question: "What must I do.......?" Believers know that they are helpless to save themselves. "Have mercy on me, a sinner" is more like it.

Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

"God to me has called all" Might be, we the people do not choose God over what we see physically as in having things here and now, wanting, I think that be the case there.then reading further, the disciples asked Jesus, once saw that rich person walk away sad, asked (Matthew 19)
Who then can be saved?
Jesus replied "With man it is impossible"
"with God (His Father) "all" things are possible. He was speaking of his going to that cross for us, to save us in his resurrected life given us by Father to us. No works can get anyone in, "None". before belief or even after belief to God Father of risen Son for them
This is a gift from God Father to us the people given through Son for us, first reconciled (Forgiven)( 2 Cor 5:17-20) in that one time willing death, that is done (John 19:30) first, before any new life could ever get given anyone and Father with Son live in and through us, only doing the done work that is done for all to see this love and mercy to do willingly too, thank you. If not willing then that person is under Law, and cursed not seeing the pride in them over thinking they got it, I assuredly do not got it, God does, and I thank god for this gift sincerely between God and me

Or some combination of the two. (Cf. ACTS 16:30-31 :^)

Obviously, The man was sincere with getting honest about being straight with God.But He was confused about his his perspective. Jesus said a simple fact that the surrender of Our Father's will, put on his cross and accept the Holy Spirit, it's amazing how Almighty God changed.

Yes, as is written down, is not seen what was said by Jesus to that man. What?

Take up your cross, (Burdens) trust my Father through me, I am sent here to straighten out truth that has got lost over time in man's interpretations of Law
What?
Man literally sees Law as I better or else attitude. I am saying sell on you have give all you have of you, willingly to my Father. My Father will direct you new as born again for you to love all and against my Love 1 Cor 14:4-7 there is no law against this love of my Father, that I am representing to you.
Are you willing? to let go of stuff you have here on earth, when My Father calls you to let go, will you let go?

That is what that is all about. Willing too Father through Son;s done perfect work. It is not that anything has changed, it got and still gets misinterpreted, this I see after along walk off a short pier daily under Law. Now upholding Law as good, me the first born me, not! Therefore I agree with God Father in the risen Son for me to be dead daily, and pray fro the instructions that day
thanks, this is what I see I share with all
God just loves us all
