Yeah faith has always been there it was in Eden they were told the truth but acted on a lie they heard and entered it into death.

No James is pretty clear “ dead faith can’t save “ bit also the “ works referenced are all about brotherly love and compassion in action and truth

But brother regarding salvation and whether someone’s saved or not . My firm belief is that every person must answer to the lord for our words and deeds and at that time they’ll receive salvation or not based on his judgement alone .

If he sees fit to save someone who did a single deed or not this is his place to do so. I believe this will save anyone

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The thing is when we do that a relationship with Jesus a personal one begins. Faith is hearing his word and letting it be true and then our actions will come . We believe wrong and so we act wrong

some believe” if I say I believe I’m saved and nothing else applies I don’t need to do anything God said now I have faith “

This is an error in thier belief and is going to lead to that attitude in life as if “ what I do doesn’t matter I’m saved eternally already “ this will never lead to repentance and upright living in Christ . But what does is to simply begin hearing the gospel the things the lord taught us about God , about our selves , about how to treat others , about life and death eternal life salvstion his kingdom ect ect

My position is as we just simply do that trusting in the lord just hear and listen and learn and follow after with our heart even if we are very very flawed at the moment . Doing that convicts us and rebukes us and leads us and comforts us guides us ect

But the key is to walk in that faith in him

The apostle Paul calls Faith a work, also, in 1 Thess1:3 and 2 Thess 1:11. Jesus plainly calls Faith a WORK of God. If you won’t believe the words of Jesus, then nothing I say will convince you. I also know you do not believe the words of Jesus in Mark 16:16. Jesus talks about people who reject Him and His words in John 12:48. But, then, I suppose you don’t believe that, either.
False and your misinterpretation culminates in salvation by works. I already explained to you that work "of" faith does not equate to work "is" faith. Other translations say:

AMP, AMPC - your work energized by faith
NIV, CSB, EHV - your work produced by faith
CEB - your work that comes from faith
CJB - how your trust produces action
DRA - the work of your faith
ERV - all that you have done because of your faith
EXB, ICB - the things you have done because of your faith
GNT - how you put your faith into practice

1 Thessalonians 1:3 - Bible Gateway

In 2 Thessalonians 1:11, other translations say:

CSB - work produced by faith
CJB - every action stemming from your trust
GW, NOG - everything your faith produces
MEV - works done by faith
NCV - works that come from your faith
NIV, NIVUK - every deed prompted by faith

2 Thessalonians 1:11 - Bible Gateway

So, once again, notice the words "work of" faith, "labor of" love and "patience of" hope in 1 Thessalonians 1:3. These are the practical outworking of the Thessalonians' conversion. The "work" the Thessalonians do is a result or consequence of their faith. So too their "labor" flows from love and their "endurance" comes from hope. Work "of" faith does not mean that faith in essence is the work accomplished. Their work is a result or consequence "of" their faith. The work done is "of" faith or done "out of" faith. Faith was already established at conversion and then the work "followed" as a result or consequence "of" their faith.

Once again, in John 6:29, Jesus said - "This is the work (singular) of God, that you believe in Him whom He has sent," when He answered the Jews (who were taking a legalistic approach) when they asked, "What shall we do, so that we may work the works (plural) of God?" So, by Jesus' play on words here, He was not implying that believing is just "another" work in a series of works in a quest to receive salvation by works, as you teach.

Also, through believing, we are completely trusting in "Another's work," (Christ's finished work of redemption - Romans 3:24-28). There is a difference between faith AND works. Saved by grace through faith, not works. (Ephesians 2:8,9) Notice the distinction between faith and works here. Paul made that very clear. Faith is faith and works are works. In Romans 4:5-6, we read - But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness, 6 just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works: *Notice the distinction between faith and works? So, how can God impute righteousness through faith apart from works is faith is just another work?

I believe the words of Jesus. I just don't believe your eisegesis.

Sure I believe the words of Jesus here and I also believe the words of Jesus in (John 3:15,16,18; 5:24; 6:29,40,47; 11:25,26) but apparently you don't. Mark 16:16 - He who believes and is baptized will be saved (general cases without making a qualification for the unusual case of someone who believes but is not baptized) but he who does not believe will be condemned.

The omission of baptized with "does not believe" shows that Jesus does not make baptism absolutely necessary for salvation. Condemnation rests on unbelief and not on a lack of baptism. What Jesus did not say, "whoever is not baptized will be condemned." *NOWHERE does the Bible say, "baptized or condemned."

If water baptism is absolutely required for salvation, then we would expect Jesus to mention it in the following verses. (3:15,16,18; 5:24; 6:29,40,47; 11:25,26) Yet what is the 1 requirement that Jesus mentions 9 different times in each of these complete statements *BELIEVES. *What happened to baptism? *Hermeneutics.

John 3:18 - He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who (is not water baptized? - NO) does not believe is condemned already, because he has not (been water baptized? - NO) because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

Once again, I believe the words of Jesus. I just don't believe your eisegesis. You simply isolate the first half of Mark 16:16, then build your doctrine on that and ignore the second half of the verse along with ignoring that Jesus connected believes "apart from water baptism" with receiving eternal life in (3:15,16,18; 5:24; 6:29,40,47; 11:25,26). That's called flawed hermeneutics.
John 6:29 "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent"
I believe you misunderstood what i was explaining earlier, The Greek word "ergon" means to labour or doing. Because the Pharisees and Scribes were all about EXTERNAL WORK, they condemned many with constant reminder of not doing the works of God. With that said...
John 6:63 " The words that I speak to you are spirit, and they are life"
God is Spirit and how do we as Christians understand His words? By His Spirit in us we now understand.. (John 14:26) "He (Holy Spirit) will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things I said to you" also (Jeremiah 31:34) "No more shall man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, know the Lord..."

The only "work" God mentions is to TRUST IN HIM, BELIEVE IN HIM, why was Abraham counted righteous because he believed in God, he Trusted GOD (he did the only work God asks us all today)
( Matthew 11:29) "Come to Me, all you(Christians) who labor(external works) and are heavy laden(coming up short), and I will give you rest(believing in Him). Take my yoke(my work) upon you and learn from me(believe in ME), for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls"(Salvation)

So as you can see John 6:29 is a very key verse over looked a lot at times. Always remember when you see the word faith think Trust God. What James was explaining (James 2:14-26) is correct, Faith without work is dead faith and here's why (Luke 6:46) "But why do you call me Lord, Lord and not do(dead faith) the things which I say"

Faith= Trust God
Faithworks= TrustGodworks

My dear brother in Christ, what bible are you reading as no where in scripture does it support your words. What i can help you with today is that God already CHOSE HIS children before the world was ever made.

Ephesians 1:4-6 New Living Translation (NLT)"Even before He made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in His eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ".

Brother you are correct about hearing the Gospel (External calling of God) However that is not enough for you to be saved. Remember this always, It is by GOD ALONE who calls you by name out of death and into His light (Jesus Christ). Until Gods Holy Spirit does quick work in us (makes us spiritually alive) we are dead in trespasses and sin. Here's something else to remember always, dead people can't choose, by GRACE you have been saved.. Ephesians 2:8

What you do brother does matter and you matter to me, as what we do we do now for the One (Jesus Christ) who went to our cross and died for our sin. Was raised back to life three days later. Amen.

Ezekiel 36:26-28 " I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws".

Do you see any we in that scripture, or together, or us? No you only see that by God alone.

Soli Deo Gloria,

I hope i have been of some help today for you brother, God bless.

Not all of the examples used in James 2 are works of “kindness and compassion.” Abraham’s work saved him because he OBEYED God when He told him to offer Issac as a sacrifice. Abraham was not doing it out of“kindness and compassion “ for Issac.

Brother. correction from the bible for you again as you are stuck in your own belief and not trusting in Gods own words. The only work or deed you had to do brother was accept Jesus Christ as you Lord and Savior. Unfortunately many worship God with their mouth but their heart was far from Him. (Matthew 15:8-9)The day you stand a lone before God yes you will have to take accountability for your rejection of His only Son. If you have confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and believe in your heart He was raised back to life then you are saved. (Romans 10:9)

Amen.

Brother Beckworth, Have you confessed Jesus Christ to be your Lord and Savior ?
Do you believe in your heart He was raised back to life?

Abraham was saved based on his faith (faith was accounted to him for righteousness) and not his works (Genesis 15:6; Romans 4:2-3) many years before he offered up Isaac on the altar in Genesis 22.

Yeah I was referring to the example for the church that re occurs throughout the nt

“What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, and one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.”
‭‭James‬ ‭2:14-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

awe aren’t told to sacrifice our son as Abraham was is my point we’re called to treat other people the way Christ taught us. For instance what John is saying here is really kind of the same thing as James is saying

“Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren. But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?

My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:16-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If one really studies the gospel Jesus is teaching us how to treat other people the right way , with brotherly love and compassion. Even as he speaks of judgement it comes back to how we treated other people especially those in need

“Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world: for I was an hungred, and ye gave me meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in: naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came unto me. And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels: for I was an hungred, and ye gave me no meat: I was thirsty, and ye gave me no drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me not in: naked, and ye clothed me not: sick, and in prison, and ye visited me not. Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me. And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭25:34-36, 40-43, 45-46‬ ‭KJV‬‬

we can see that both groups call him lord the only difference is one group cares fornothers treated them with compassion they loved others in deed and truth

the other group didn’t do that they didn’t show compassion or treat people with love they were like the Pharisees and preists in the parable who just look the other way and pass on by with thier plenty as the man layed bleeding needing help but the Samaritan he did right in Gods eyes and was justified more than the priest and Pharisee

ultimately even the law was about how we treat each other if I kill , I’m killing another person , if I steal I’m stealing from another person if I lie I’m lying to the person of commit adultery I’m commiting it against my wife or someone else’s Marriage ect

Gods goal has always been to get mankind to live in peace and harmony not doing harm against each other ultimately this is going to be the deeds we’re judged upon not observing a sabbath day or making a sacrifice or keeping the law of Moses ect

But receiving the love of Christ and sharing it with other people. Love in action ( charity ) for others covers over alot with God

“And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.”
‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭4:8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If a person believes the gospel and treats other people right according to the gospel they’re going to be fine and inherit the eternal Kingdom . Ultimately Gods concern is how we treat other people as his representatives on earth

“Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another ( in action and truth ) hath fulfilled the law.

For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭13:8-10‬ ‭KJV‬‬

they got so focused on all the commands and tenants of the law they missed its purpose don’t harm other people. Don’t lie don’t cheat them don’t steal from them don’t kill then don’t cover thier goods don’t commit adultery against them ect was what the “Thou shalt nots” were about

it’s still what God cares about to believe in his name and love one another as Christ has loved us

Soli Deo Gloria,

I hope i have been of some help today for you brother, God bless.
Not really no you sort of pulled a line out of what I was saying and what I was replying to but The bible doesn’t agree with this ?

“I believe this will save anyone"

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

that’s what I had actually said that hearing and believing the gospel l can save anyone and I still believe it’s accurate after reading your post regarding Israel needing to be redeemed .

“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

seems accurate to me

“And he commanded us to preach unto the people, and to testify that it is he which was ordained of God to be the Judge of quick and dead. ( however he judges is how perogative and right . he suffered and died for peoples sins its not my place to judge anyone’s salvstion especially based on ot prophecy regarding isreal)?

To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭10:42-43‬ ‭KJV‬‬

seems again to be there in the Bible I read ( kjv authorized is my favorite but also read the original niv and a few others at times btw )

seems like it agrees at least in my own thought .

what I was actually saying that it’s not my place to judge another persons salvation because we all have to do this for ourselves not anyone else

Him that is weak in the faith receive ye, but not to doubtful disputations.

Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind. For whether we live, we live unto the Lord; and whether we die, we die unto the Lord: whether we live therefore, or die, we are the Lord's. For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, And every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:1, 4-5, 8-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus the lord can judge people as he sees fit and everyone’s not going to be judged by the same standard but that seems a bridge too far to get into

The more we know , the more is required ,l

Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭14:1, 4-5, 8-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus the lord can judge people as he sees fit and everyone’s not going to be judged by the same standard but that seems a bridge too far to get into

The more we know , the more is required ,l
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Hey Brother, in the word "whosoever", what people do you believe are the who..?

John 3:16 "For God so loved the world He gave His only Begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.."
Brother, who are the whoevers?
What do believe God is saying here.. anyone or certain ones are saved??

(Romans 8:1) "There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit"

Who do you think are the "thems" in this scripture?

I do not read anywhere in James 2:14-26 that says “Abraham was justified by faith and before men by his actions.”
it is really something quite amazing to learn that Romans 4 is not in your Bible?!?

@Beckworth hoping you are still saved today!

apparently you can become damned at any moment, since it depends not on the work of God but on human will and exertion according to your gospel,
and this being the case, in your worldview, given the nature of humankind, it's rather an inevitability that in the end you will never be saved, that in fact no one will - per your preaching, Christ died for nothing: death and hell have the victory.

so i truly hope you enjoy your temporary deceitful illusion of salvation while it lasts, and that Jesus does not take His vain futility too hard.

bless His holy heart; He tried.

Whosoever to me means anyone of this group

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved;

but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

anyone from this same group

“For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭2:3-4‬ ‭

Anyone of the group he came to save

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭3:16‬ ‭

Whosoever pretty much is self explainitory to me anyone , whoever believes the true gospel he sent to us all promising salvation

this part ?
“There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭8:1‬ ‭

again it’s sort of self explainitory

“to them which are in Christ Jesus, “

this is doctrine for those who had converted and believed and been baptized into Christ it isn’t something we preach for conversion it’s church doctrine regarding baptism and more

But can I ask you what did this guy do as he hung there dying on the cross ?

“And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭23:42-43‬ ‭KJV‬‬

what about here ?

“Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven. And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭7:47-48, 50‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This woman wasn’t walking in the spirit she was a sinner a known sinner she just saw Jesus and believed and came weeping and broken and loved him she wasn’t given any list of things to do

heres the thing Jesus is the one who gets to decide who is saved and who isn’t. He earned it with his blood and tears pain and suffering. It’s not my place to tell people they aren’t saved or can’t be saved I’ll continue on telling people th at if they hear and believe the gospel they are going to be fine because of they do th at they’ll learn from the lord and become disciples or what we call “ Christian’s “

Everyone isn’t going to be saved like the man on the cross , or the sinful woman but my point was that if Jesus decides to save someone who’s don’t nothing , he has the right and authority to do that and it’s not my place to decide he doesn’t that’s all I was saying in that comment .

some people don’t understand or ever even hear some parts that you know or I know they aren’t accountable for it we are who know each persons judgement is between them and Jesus thier savior

The only value I can offer is to point people to go hesr the gospel themselves that’s what it’s for so we can each onow God from the least to the greatest of us personally and have a relationship through Christ jesus

anyone can be saved but not everyone will accept his offer of salvation

Your own words- "Whosoever pretty much is self explainitory to me anyone , whoever believes the true gospel he sent to us all promising salvation"
My dear brother I am very happy to help you here,
do you believe anyone by their own will can choose to confess Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior any time they want?

Brother, my most concern is have YOU confessed Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and believe in your heart He was raised back to life?
If so then that's all that matters here... Spread the Good News!

do I believe the gospel ? Yeah of course. It’s just that this topic I’ve been discussing for a couple days and it’s been exhausted in my opinion .

what I believe about it is here in the thread , like the question you asked I’ve been discussing it for a couple days and don’t want to just keep repeating everything.

But yes I believe the gospel.

some believe” if I say I believe I’m saved and nothing else applies I don’t need to do anything God said now I have faith “

This is an error in thier belief and is going to lead to that attitude in life as if “ what I do doesn’t matter I’m saved eternally already “ this will never lead to repentance and upright living in Christ . But what does is to simply begin hearing the gospel the things the lord taught us about God , about our selves , about how to treat others , about life and death eternal life salvstion his kingdom ect ect

no one who truly loves their husband never does a single act of kindness towards Him.

with many humans, one has to look beyond the surface to see their love - and with many also, the surface appears loving but underneath it is spiteful.

man looks at the outside of the cup; God looks within.

“But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him? My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth. And hereby we know that we are of the truth, and shall assure our hearts before him.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭3:17-19‬ ‭

By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭5:2-4‬ ‭
