So, I’ve noticed in just the last few weeks, that almost every day, the website hosting goes out and I have to wait like ten minutes or longer for the site to come back up…I have the best internet you can get for this area that I live in, so it can’t the the internet. When the hosting down page comes up, it shows that my connection is green and perfect, yet Christian chats hosting is down. Not sure if it is because the app that is connected to the website is being overloaded with people or the website itself is being overloaded with people.

Do you think we should recommend to the admins or owner of Christian chat, that they should upgrade their hosting plan…so this won’t happen anymore? Should we all go to a $1 paid plan, so they are at least able to have some more income coming in, so they can potentially upgrade their hosting plan, without having to use their own capital?

I personally want to see Christian Chat thrive but I also like where it’s at right now and the current community on the site. So I am not sure if the down hosting deters website snobs from staying. I’m kind of a performance snob but at the same time, if nothing changes, I still prefer this site to anything else on the web.

I saw this recently and I wondered if it might be the browser gone down so I switched to another browser and got straight in.

You could recommend it sure but ultimately it’s up to the owner.

I can't help but believe the owner, who has been running CC for over 20 years, needs to be made aware of a need to updgrade.

This site is actually much slower, in terms of users, than it used to be. And it handled the traffic fine. So I'm doubting that's the problem.

Also I don't see requiring everyone who wants to join to make a PayPal account (if they don't have one), just to join. I dont see that as helping the site thrive.

You're the first "internet snob" I've heard of on this site in the 8 years this software has been in use. Though the number of self proclaimed "computer illiterate" people coming to this site is a regular thing on here. So requiring such people to go off site and have to set up an account to payis likely to deter more of those not comfortable with computers than the current situation deters "internet snobs".

Yeah, no, I don't think he needs any suggestions. He's been doing this for two decades.

Besides, this is slow compared to the business this forum did back in the day. I don't think we're going to generate a flood of new activity anytime soon here. We're just holding our own.
