When I was growing up in the country, people would gather around when my grandmother would wring chicken's necks. It was a sight to see. I don't know anyone anymore that can wring a chicken's neck. My grandmother had a lot of skills. Her dad knew the old ways and could pick herbs for healing. Folks out here just have a different upbringing lol.

Sometimes, city trails can be nice. I've hiked the trail through the city here many times in my life and it's neat. It's got woodsy areas and also urban areas.

Btw, I got my grocery order. I plan to stick pizza in the oven shortly and have a diet root beer. I was awake until after 2pm Okie time lol.

I dunno, some people just find a lot of humor in passing gas. I remember my dad describing one one time as smelling like "rotten bologna." My mother and I thought this was hilarious and after that we'd send funny related things to each other (like she sent me a link to purchase a gas mask and I sent her an article about how people continue to pass gas after death...just stuff like that). My mother would say that her husband's were so bad that the paint would peel off the wall.
Jeez Louise! I don’t know how you were able to stay up that long! I think I might have been able to power through it but I had not one but two melatonin gummies.

There are some nice trails in Anaheim hills and some in Santa Ana/Orange area, even in Irvine. I just don’t know where any are in Los Angeles County. It’s like a concrete jungle, where even the rivers beds are made of concrete. One place that is nice is Irvine Park. There are tons of trails, even a mini train ride, a zoo, and those water bikes in the little lake there.

Your grandparents were like real American.

I just ordered groceries too! I just put my last two stevia root beers in the fridge a little bit ago and a bunch of dr. Zevias. I’m not sure what else I’m going to eat. Just ate chicken nuggets with garlic teriyaki sauce and keto Oreo cookie knock offs but I’m still hungry.

lol that reminds me of all of my families humor. We still laugh when it happens, which is almost every day but at the same time I think about it, and I think, “is this what we do?” Sometimes I wish comedians were funny again, so I can watch some good stand up. During the last four years, stand up was brutally not funny. Every comedian seemed to want to sell you on some woke belief.

My grandma used to smoke indoors in a room in her house and when she passed, we tried cleaning the walls and they were a completely different color than what they originally were because of all the smoke. The paint peeling off the walls reminded me of that.

I was able to stay up that long probably due to our conversation lol

Mini train ride! I like those. And zoos. And more trails.

After my last post, I put the pizza in the oven. While it baked a did a few chores. I hadn't checked the mail yet, so I headed out with a flashlight. The funeral home sent me a grief book.

I think I might have gotten 4 hours of sleep today, at least 3. The Fuzz Butts were up before me lol. But, I wanted to get that grocery order done before the stores get even busier due to the holiday coming up. That and I really wanted diet root beer lol

I remember getting the break room at work roaring with laughter. We were laughing so much one day, one of the managers walked in there and said, "I can't concentrate on my work because you all keeping laughing!" We were perfectly quiet as he got stern with us. Then he spun around and walked back to his office. Once he was in his office we roared with laughter again. He didn't return lol

My grandmother (my mom's mom, the one who built the beer bar), she smoked too and her walls were coated with it. If I visited her, the smell would come home with me. I remember opening my bag one time after I got home and the smell came out of the bag. Ugh.

Here's a couple of pics of Bath Lake in Medicine Park, OK...

Trust me, I had so much energy from our conversation. I think I really find comfort in you a lot and I would hope that you would find the same in me. I think that is why when we originally started talking a month or so ago, that was the original magic. I’d like to maintain that magic. Still trying to figure it out but I think being on Christian chat holds us accountable, when both of us lack accountability In our lives. Here, it’s like a safe space. I hate to use that term by the way! Especially when trump originally came into office and colleges had safe spaces for students because he won the election. Cry me a river!

Speaking of rivers…those look really beautiful!

I think Irvine park would be a go to for you.

Grief books are nice and I hope you can get something out of it but I think spending time with God and people who support you is even better. Also, therapists seem to work but I can’t tell if they only work during the duration that you are seeing them and once you know longer have a therapist all of your problems come back.

The fuzz butts seem to never sleep! They have a similar sleep schedule as us, maybe?

That work life kinda reminds of what it is like to be at work in general. Sometimes I felt like that manager, while everyone I was working with seemed to not care at all but they say ”the one who cares less wins.” I don’t know where I heard that from but i can’t tell if it is good or bad advice.

i remember when i lived with my dad or if my dad dropped me off at school on monday mornings when i would sleep over at his place, i would reek of cigarettes when I was in school. I felt sorry for the other kids that had to smell me or just didn’t care. I just knew I didn’t like the smell of it.

I think it's smashing that we both share that magic. I enjoy our time together. I was wondering what you think about moving our conversation to one of your old threads. Maybe the one called Attention? That way Tazzo can have her thread back. What are your thoughts? I mention that particular thread (Attention) because I think it only had 4 participants and we were 2 of those participants. The other 2 are good people and they can just unfollow the thread (which is easy to do). Then we can have a thread to converse and Tazzo can have her thread here back.

I feel like my grief is moving forward in a normal manner, going by everything I've read. The first 2 months were the worst. I've had some rough times in my life, but that was the roughest. My heart had never been heavier in my life. Some grief is tolerable and some grief alters you...some grief can kill you.

Yes, in the people world we are the Fuzz Butts! Well, hopefully not. They seem to mostly just eat, gripe at each other, and reproduce lol.

Yes, I remember going to school with cigarette smell on me. My mother and grandmother were chain smokers. Dad would have an occasional smoke (he actually preferred cannabis). He stopped smoking over 20 years ago. When he passed away, he had no problems in the lungs. None that were revealed to me, that is.
Here is the link to that old thread of yours. Let me know what you think.

Greg Silva is an fb friend. He takes a lot of smashing pics of local scenery. Sometimes he and his wife go outside of the state and take pics. Us Okies that don't travel much get to live through them. Here is a pic he took of bison out at Tall Grass Prairie Preserve, which isn't far from where I live...
