Anyone watch these films? So I watched smile 2 at the heater with my 11 year old son yesterday.
The thought came across my mind, how Satan is so clever to numb us as to the realities of dark forces that we make fun of them. The scary part is, while it's just a movie, I kept thinking over and over how the "plot" of demon possession is in actually very true, biblical, and alive in very well.

Smile 2, the movie itself was not as good as part 1, a few good jump scares, but overall I enjoyed it.

I had never even heard of these movies until I read about them now via your OP...

Probably because it is in the horror genre? *shudders* No, I will never see them (LOL)

I watched smile 1. I thought it was so scary! 🤣 it's on my top list of scary movies.

Sometimes in real life you see people with the big eyes and smile when they shouldn't be. You can tell they're crazy and to stay away.

I prayed fervently last night, in the name of Jesus to cast out and to break any curse of fear, demons, or negative thoughts, especially for my 11 year old son! Of course it worked!

The name of the Lord is so powerful!
Bless the Lord oh my soul, Amen.

I seen the first one, haven't seen the second one yet. The first one was okay. I've seen tons of horror movies in my life, from mundane ones to very dastardly ones. It seems nothing phases me with horror movies, and they aren't as fun to me anymore.

There are some horror movies out there now a days where you feel the demonic presence. I’ve never been a fan of scary movies, even as a kid. I never saw the point in having those images in my mind, cause I’d usually be thinking about for weeks afterward. Makes me paranoid.

I will behave myself wisely in a perfect way. O when wilt thou come unto me? I will walk within my house with a perfect heart.

I will set no wicked thing before mine eyes..
Psalm 101

For all of you who are watching these horror movies.
I have a few questions.

1. Why?
2. What does the above scripture
mean to you?
3. As followers of Christ, should we
view this as a directive from
scripture or merely good advice?
Are they not the same thing?
4. If not a directive, why not?
5. And finally, are you not aware
that Satan uses these forms of
entertainment to injure your
spirit, silence the voice of the
Holy Spirit. And upon occasions
which are not as rare as you
might think, to oppress or even
possess certain individuals.

You can call me a stick in the mud, condemning, or whatever else pleases you, though I assure I am none of these things.

I'm not judging you, you answer to God not me. I am however, harshly judging the media you are consuming. And it is my business, because I actually am my brothers keeper. And you and I make up the Body of Christ. To not warn you would be sin to me.

In my not so humble but loving and brotherly opinion, these horror films and most other films are spawned in the depths of hell and for no other purpose than to weaken your mind, injure your Spirit, relax your sensibilities and ultimately, subtly lead you away from God. It's not even all that subtle anymore. Satan has made it quite clear who runs the media and entertainment industries.

And I guess one more question.

If Christ showed up at our door one evening and we were watching a horror movie, would we say to Him, "Hey, good to see you, we just put on Friday the 13th, care to sit down and join us?"

If you can honestly say that's what you would do, then please completely ignore this post. I'm speaking to someone else.

Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.

I don't watch horror movies, but for a much more mundane and personal reason.

I'm a nerd.

Horror movies are usually pretty laughable for me. I never can take the premise seriously. My brain is always deconstructing the 17,432 plot holes in the background.
