Here is a study to share with your kids or grandkids on cold winter days. They may walk up to you in the New Jerusalem and remind you about it one day.

The Hall of Faith

Abel: Offered a more acceptable sacrifice to God than Cain, demonstrating his righteousness. Hebrews 11:4: “By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts: and by it he being dead yet speaketh.” Genesis 4:1-10

Enoch: Walked with God and was taken up to heaven without experiencing death because he pleased God. Hebrews 11:5: “By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God.” Genesis 5:21-24

Noah: Built an ark to save his family from the flood, showing his obedience and trust in God’s warning. Hebrews 11:7: “By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith.” Genesis 6:9-22

Abraham: Obeyed God’s call to leave his homeland and was willing to sacrifice his son Isaac, trusting in God’s promises. Hebrews 11:8: “By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. Hebrews 11:17: “By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac: and he that had received the promises offered up his only begotten son.” Genesis 12:1-9, Genesis 22:1-19

Sarah: Believed in God’s promise and bore a child despite her old age Hebrews 11:11: “Through faith also Sara herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child when she was past age, because she judged him faithful who had promised.” Genesis 18:10-15, Genesis 21:1-7

Isaac: Blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come. Hebrews 11:20: “By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.” Genesis 27:27-40

Jacob: Blessed each of Joseph’s sons and worshiped as he leaned on the top of his staff. Hebrews 11:21: “By faith Jacob, when he was a dying, blessed both the sons of Joseph; and worshipped, leaning upon the top of his staff.” Genesis 48:1-20

Joseph: Spoke about the exodus of the Israelites from Egypt and gave instructions about his bones. Hebrews 11:22: “By faith Joseph, when he died, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel; and gave commandment concerning his bones.” Genesis 50:24-25

Moses: Chose to suffer with God’s people rather than enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin, leading the Israelites out of Egypt. Hebrews 11:24-25: “By faith Moses, when he was come to years, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter; Choosing rather to suffer affliction with the people of God, than to enjoy the pleasures of sin for a season.” Exodus 2:1-10, Exodus 14:1-31

Rahab: A prostitute who protected the Israelite spies in Jericho, showing her faith in God’s plan. Hebrews 11:31: “By faith the harlot Rahab perished not with them that believed not, when she had received the spies with peace.” Joshua 2:1-21, Joshua 6:22-25

Paul left us a little studying to do:

Hebrews 11:32: “And what shall I more say? for the time would fail me to tell of Gedeon, and of Barak, and of Samson, and of Jephthae; of David also, and Samuel, and of the prophets.”
Gideon defeated the Midianites with a small army by trusting in God’s guidance: Judges 6:11-8:35
Barak: Led Israel to victory over the Canaanite army under the guidance of the prophetess: Judges 4:1-24
Samson: Known for his incredible strength, he delivered Israel from the Philistines: Judges 13:1-16:31
Jephthah: Defeated the Ammonites and made a vow to God: Judges 11:1-12:7
David: Known for his faith in God, he defeated Goliath and became a king after God’s own heart.: 1 Samuel 16:1-13, 1 Samuel 17:1-58
Samuel: A prophet who anointed the first two kings of Israel and judged Israel faithfully:1 Samuel 1:20-28, 1 Samuel 3:1-21

[Heb 11:39-40 KJV] 39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: 40 God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.
