The more and more I see social media played out in news reels due to trends and the horrible actions being done by many gangs and solo criminals, I ask myself, other than praying for them, what can I do?

The good Samaritan in the Bible went out of his way to assist and secure the right conditions for the stranger to be well. How do we do that today for strangers? I have seen many truly homeless and destitute men and women here in NYC, and I have done what I can both in praying for them and giving them food or water. [ I do not give them money as I will not be responsible for enabling them to get drunk or high. Yet my wife and I have on a few occasions given food and water to those we see in need.

Yet I wonder where the Church stands in your community where you live and what different services they provide and whether you participate or not? Personally I do not participate directly in any of the church outreach services as my wife and I do our own outreach occasionally by walking through Manhattan handing out water to random homeless men and women we see. Anyone here in the chat from NYC? If so, care to link up and make this sort of outreach a monthly or weekly service?

You will know in your own heart given you by God, what to do, when to do or not do as led by God. This new life given you is as Ecclesiastes teaches it to you from God for you to see and know the times
Read it the book of Ecclesiastes and be given the wisdom of God, and see how to stay harmless at the same time in be ing aware of the evil happening all around us. That is reality, Ask, trust God and God will reveal to you the true talent(s) given you to use humbly, not proudly or arrogantly ever, thanks to God
Psalm 100:4, 103:12, Ezekiel 36:26

I think that besides prayers you have to do what you can with what you're given.
I donate some money to my church which i know where it goes, and i also donate some money to cancer causes, especially children at St. Jude and that's all i can do within my means.
If i was Elon Musk with 200 gajillion dollars then my outreach would be larger, so do what you can with a monthly salary and don't expect to save the world because even if we had all the money in the world we wouldn't be able to save it anyway.
Try to make a change for the people around you, within your means. You can't save the whole city.
