Summed up the problem I found with losing salvation perfectly. You think you saved yourself so you think you can unsave yourself. Both are untrue. You do not have near the power you think you do. God has ALL power.
True but it's still my choice which side i choose and serve

1 Corinthians 4:7b; John 3:27; Romans 9:15-16 What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did also receive it, why do you boast as not having received it? John replied, "A man can receive only that which is given him from heaven." "I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion." So then, it does not depend on man's desire or effort, but on God's mercy.

There are countless long threads on this site about this topic. Seems a new one pops up at least once a week.
And you're in the BDF. Asking for no arguing, or even minimal arguing, is completely pointless. All the existing threads on this topic are nothing but arguments.
I am happy to find out that the other threads on this topic are mere arguments so that I do not need to spend time perusing them. Instead I will share the result of my study of Scripture:

Christians need to understand that salvation has three stages or time components. They were saved from ultimate hell at the moment of deciding to accept Jesus as Lord (EPH 1:13, RV 3:20), they are (being) saved or perfected morally while remaining loyal to Jesus (JM 1:3-4), and they will be saved bodily on the day of resurrection (ZCH 14:1-9, 1THS 4:16, cf. 1CR 15:35-55).

The spiritual union between believers and Christ is comparable to marriage (EPH 5:23-32), and just as a husband and wife need to continue their commitment until they part at death, Christians also need to retain saving faith (LK 9:23, 2CR 4:16) as they grow spiritually, learning how to become more like Christ or achieve His fullness.

Saying we “need” perseverance prompts this question: Is it possible for a Christian to repudiate his/her saving faith and become apostate or again bound for hell? Before seeking to answer this question, we should remember that although perseverance is an implicit part of the creed, understanding the details of this or any doctrine is not necessary in order to remain saved, because the kerygma is simple enough for a young soul to understand (cf. MT 18:3), and didachaic details can become rather complicated and controversial.

There are numerous verses in the NT which indicate that it is possible for a believer intentionally or willfully to separate him/herself from Christ (cf. GL 5:1 & RV 12:9). The classic passage that teaches the possibility of apostasy is Hebrews 6:4-6: “It is impossible for those who have… shared in the Holy Spirit… if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again.” Another verse in this vein is Galatians 5:4: “You who are trying to be justified by law… have fallen away from grace.” (Also see RM 11:22, 1CR 15:2, CL 1:22-23, 2THS 1:4-5, 2TM 2:12, HB 3:6&14, 10:35-36, JM 1:12, 2PT 1:10-11, 2:20, 1JN 2:24-25 and RV 2:10.)

(I can post these Scriptures for consideration if y'all want me to do so. :^)

can we keep the arguing down?
I am also looking for biblical quotes. not convictions.
I fall firmly into believing that you can get unsaved, because I did choose not to accept christ. as a concious decision. like, i thought, i dont want it for myself. maybe someday. i believe it to be truth, but i do not accept the truth. I still care about others being and getting saved, but i myself do not want ti.
until I got saved, and truly believe his love now.
I would suggest that the important question is not: Can you get unsaved?

The most important question is this: Do you believe in Jesus Christ and his atoning sacrifice for your sins? If the answer is "yes" you are saved. If the answer is "no" you are not saved.

So if I'm saved years later have a change of heart and start to follow Satan then do occult rituals and say things against Jesus I'm still going to heaven? Just as Satan offered Jesus the things of this world he also offers to many today. Look at Beyonce who says she's saved. She's a witch Satan follow. Her lyrics say she wipes her time of the month with the holy pages. I don't see her making it to heaven unless she repents moving forward

A profession of faith, does not mean that one has posession of faith.

You have been given a new heart.. God himself removes the old and replaces it with the new (Ezek 36:26). Then your desires where evil, now you have new desires, Godly desires.

Do Christians fall into sin, yes and sometimes it could well be a lengthy period. But, you will be under the discipline of your/our father. This discipline although nit oleasant will bring us back. A great example, and thats why it is in scripture is David.. Read Psalm 32 and 51

I would say there are many who decieve themselves with false professions of faith, and yet sadly never had possession of it. Jesus explains this quite succinctly (matt 13).

And to answer the OP, I don't believe that you can be 'unsaved' which would mean 'unborn (again)' for we are children of God not by the normal mean of procreation/ethnicity etc(blood), by the will of our parents or even by our own wills, scripture I percieve to be very clear on this.

"But to all who did receive him, who believed in his name, t he gave the right u to become children of God, 13 who were born, not of blood y nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God. (John 1:12)".

Some have already said why I believe you can *get unsaved. By get, you move away from God. We have our own free will with God. But, Jesus said you cannot be taken from him, unwillingly.

Keep in mind that God is forgiving God. God Is slow to wrath and quick to mercy.
Uh, the scripture on the prodical son anyone?

And it's also written, the many times God called Isreal to repentance from murder and idoltary. And forgave them when they did.

Yes I agree. You can go back to God at anytime if you really repent! But most will not.

Yes, but remember that God has he's limits. Sometimes the line has been crossed too far. You can get buried too far away from God. Remember the struggle with leviathan, and do not do it again.
Some people do not get a second chance from God. As we see in the holy bible.

Hebrews 6:4-8 reveals that one can... lose their Salvation IF... they decide to fall away...

Heb 6:4-8
4 For it is impossible for
those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost,
5 And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come,

6 If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame.

7 For the earth which drinketh in the rain that cometh oft upon it, and bringeth forth herbs meet for them by whom it is dressed, receiveth blessing from God:
8 But that which beareth thorns and briers is rejected, and is nigh unto cursing; whose end is to be burned.
KJV

Of course the 'once saved, always saved' preachers teach against the above, claiming once one believes on Jesus Christ they can never lose their Salvation. That's not correct, as the above Hebrews Scripture reveals.

The above Scripture is about one who had... believed on The Father and The Son Jesus Christ, and even experienced powers of the world to come by The Holy Spirit, but turned and fell away from Christ. That is actually what the unpardonable sin is about. Once someone has been given PROOF, and they reject it, is to be fully... accountable for their choice to go into perdition.

For Christ's very elect and chosen though, it is impossible... for His chosen to fall away, for they are not 'called' only, but 'chosen'. (i.e., for many are called, but few are chosen like Jesus said). For Christ's chosen, He already owns them. Thus He can directly intervene in their lives to direct their work in Him. But for those 'called' only, they still can choose to fall away if they so desire. And to choose to fall away after having been given undeniable Proof, is unpardonable.
That scripture is actually about the assurance of salvation, and actually now that I think it more, the entire Book of Hebrews is about the security and assurance of salvation.

You can only be born again once that is what the author is clearly stating.

Now she's on team Satan leading many to hell. A catholic church in San fan had a beyonce mass. What trash 🤮🤮🤮

In the book of revelations, it says that God is going to first Judge the church.

yes, and he's judgments are rightheous and just.
I feed fully agree we all get a chance to choose who we will Serve. I don't feel bad for anyone that chooses Satan. We all had a chance and God sees the heart. Man sees the outer. God will judge by the fruits. Matthew 7 is a very scary chapter about some who will not make it. I've never cast out a demon but some that have will not make it workers of lawlessness

You must be concerned about your friends salvation? We should pray for her. Pray that she recieves wisdom and knowledge, and that God will guide her back to him on he's time.
