??? oh, sorry, misuse of word. brute as in power, not as in violence. dont get all ***OHH!!! DEMONS!!! AHHH!!! RUNN!!!*** on me, but it is very slightly similar to dnd. its story involves a lot of pain, mental, the ground is littered with corpses, there are about.... 8 people alive in the world. and several die. every monster is reanimated corpses. you can get up and fully customize your char. choosing between hacking with a dagger, shooting with a sling, and blasting enemies with magic at distance. no gore, just pre-generated corpses. implied gore. you may like it. or maybe not. it is a pint and click style movement game. (at least, I couldn't get arrow keys to work.)
What about me gives you the impression I'd say something like "***OHH!!! DEMONS!!! AHHH!!! RUNN!!!***"?
Advice. Don't say to people "don't get all..." it won't be received well. It's viewed as you telling someone they are not aloud to feel a certain way around you. If I or anyone else responds that way it's their perogative.

It sounds somewhat similar to Diablo 3. I played that some, but don't enjoy the click to move aspect. I prefer first or third person games with open worlds. The limited mobility and lack of exploration in other types of games gets old a bit fast for me personally.

I'm guessing he has probably been roasted multiple times by massive overreaction from people on this very forum. His precaution is understandable, if in this case unwarranted.

I figured it had happened somewhere. You don't say that without having been burned by somebody's overreaction somewhere.

Well rest assured I am not one of those people to yell demon about everything. While I do believe they exist and affect the world and people, it seems viable that people's sin nature is more than enough to ruin the world without blaming demons for everything.
But using that statement isn't ideal. Those who will freak out won't listen, and those who won't freak out may take offense. No worries. I didn't think you had bad intentions. Just passing along some helpful advice.

And I'm well aware of the beliefs many Christians have about DnD. They were saying the same things when I was your age. And before that even. Basically since it became popular.

As a Christian you'll encounter many Christians quick to criticize, dismiss or demonize many things. Just say what you have to say and see how people react. If it's unfavorable then take that as knowledge about that person and limit what you discuss with them. Those who are favorable, or even willing to share with you calmly why they believe something is bad, give them a chance. They may have insights that have not occurred to you.
But people that freak out, don't listen to them.
From my experience as someone who has had tastes in things many Christians disagree with i have found this approach is best. So hopefully you can learn from my experience and save yourself some trouble in the future.

That actually sounds like a super fun game, but I would be such a party pooper at a game like that. I know way too many words. Sure there are some words I don't know, and I'm not going to go looking for them just to complete the set, but the game would become interminable as the book holder kept throwing out words and I kept shooting them down because I already knew them.

Unless I was the book holder... Hmmmmm.
I bet you'd be surprised. You get one of those big honk'n dictionaries and you'll find a word you don't know on every other page.

Our extended family played it with about 13 people, but you can even play it with 3, which we did a lot. We had some kids play with us adults too. So, the 13 yr old mentioned a few words someone knew, but they found words 11 adults didn't know pretty easy. Those "huh" words stand out more than you'd think.

First, Squall all the way!
I never really played FFVII, I watched my friend play it, did not feel like playing it, as I did watch her play FFVIII also, but that I got to play too and bought one of my own later on. And if I remember correctly I liked IX too and definately X was great.
Ôkami was my game too, buuut I never finished any of those games, I just liked to wander around..

For PC I liked Age of Empires II: the Conquerors and Need for Speed. As for more simple games, a super old one, Supaplex.
Those all are in the past tense as I no longer got time to play.. or don't want to "waste" my time from all the responsibilities, ah, the nice feeling of being adult... :cautious:

As for the board games Rummikub is what I enjoy playing whenever I have a chance.
For cardgames, only Skip-Bo goes for me.

My brother liked okami.

I play games for the story, and I'm not big on Japanese mythology, so I didn't really get into it. It was nice to watch though.

Monkeys throw poop at you, then the poop turns into a flower that you can eat to restore your health. Yeah, that was a weird game.

Well, FF was for the story, but as I already had watched my friend play those all through.. I wanted complete the stories on my own but it didn't feel as interesting anymore, when you already have seen it all.

Wait, what? Was that monkey poop in Okami? I quess I didn't play much of it then, because I don't remember that

Yeah, monkeys throw poop at you.

If you wait a bit, I guess the poop fertilizes the ground, and a flower grows. If Amateurasu eats the flower, it restores a very slight amount of health.

Don't make me feel this old, because I cannot remember that either!
..and you never played that?

Maybe I am starting to have gray (luckily not brown nor yellow) pieces of memory coming back what that game was like..
