uhh. huh.
There was Jesus in the beginning of Matthew 9, and Elisha in second Kings 4:27 off the top of my head. It's 1:30 in the morning, though, and if you really want to know you will search for yourself, anyway, so that's all I'm gonna give.
just like @Nehemiah6
wont accept being wrong.

It isn't my job to prove anything to you. Rather I'm offering what I think and know to you for you to vet for yourself with God.

But no, there were no mirrors or anything like that involved. Don't you know that we are speaking of fallen angels, and God uses holy angels to protect us because they have abilities we don't?
hown helpful. unfounded dividing claims. kids, a tip, if they have noproof, ignore them.

just read the last of your message. you are crossing the line into catholisism. we dont need protected. satan cannot even speak our names without permission.

oh. sorry. I didn't read the verse. the man of god was in direct communion with God at that time. God told him. no ''gift'' involved.

When it came to influencing nature, Satan was not able to do it without God's permission.

Satan cannot even touch a believer without the permission of God. Satan complained to the Lord about this.

Have you not put a fence around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land
Because he is a created being, Satan cannot read our thoughts. He is not all-knowing like the LORD. It is God alone that knows everything - including our thoughts. (cold reading!)

Daniel answered the king, "No wise men, enchanters, magicians, or diviners can show to the king the mystery that the king is asking, but there is a God in heaven who reveals mysteries, and He has disclosed to King Nebuchadnezzar what will happen at the end of days. Your dream and the visions of your head as you lay in bed were these"

satan has no true power.
Hmm... Gonna have to disagree with you on that one. There are evil spirits and they do have a limited power. Witch doctors are a thing.

First, Acts 16:16-18.

Second, the witch of Endor.

There are other examples, but those are the two that I pulled off the top of my head. Satan does have some power.

On the other hand, greater is He that is in me... Our missionaries who go into witch doctor territory report that they don't have any trouble with witch doctors. Sometimes the witch doctors come to the missionaries, begging them for help, because the curses the witch doctors tried to cast on the missionaries backfired and came to land on the witch doctors, and they are desperate for relief.

So yeah, Satan has a bit of power. We don't have to study it and figure out ways to defend against it though.

You clearly do not understand how spiritual gifts work since you just tried to contrast a gift that uses Holy Spirit with being in contact with God.

You don't strike me as someone who is genuinely open to learning though, therefore it is up to you to study and seek God for yourself if and when you really want to test your current understanding against the truth.

Matthew 7:7-11 NASB1995
[7] “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. [8] For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. [9] Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? [10] Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? [11] If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

Exactly, and thus so do those with God in them, as God enables. In fact Jesus said:

"Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do, he will do also; and greater works than these he will do; because I go to the Father.

...

I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may be with you forever; that is the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it does not see Him or know Him, but you know Him because He abides with you and will be in you."
John 14: 12, 16-17

If you really want the truth on this subject though, you are freely able to study where it is written of extensively in 1st Corinthians 12-14.

Honestly, though, I won't hold my breath waiting for you to come up with genuine openness and teachability. But I hope you prove me wrong.

It is written:

“Do not give what is holy to dogs, and do not throw your pearls before swine, or they will trample them under their feet, and turn and tear you to pieces."
Matthew 7:6

I will be moving on then.

Friend,

I can appreciate worthy eyes helping to make sure I don't overstep, however, there is a place for cutting correction in hope of bringing one to repentance (ex. Acts 2:37). God has taught me that I need to be unabashedly willing to go difficult and ugly places with people, and I don't believe I've overstepped. You can always pray for God to give me insight if you genuinely believe I am in error (and I hope you would) since my heart is to speak and do rightly.

@Lynx, I think the witch of endor was surprised when she saw samuel. have you read mind games? it is very revealing. why I distrust @Ballaurena . anyhow, I am dropping this whole thing. WE should be concerned with saving the lost, not arguing over petty and worthless facts. all I am saying is, when I get conrete evidence, I'll believe you.

cold reading is not a talent. it is a skill learned to decieve. how could lying to someone by knowing things about them be used for God?
I would think throwing a surprise party for someone would qualify, you know things about them, you sneak around behind their back planning and putting a party together with their friends and family and favorite foods etc.. Then you see the look on their face when they find out what you did just for them.

This is a place for any profound thoughts we might have. Anybody is welcome to post any profound thoughts you might have had recently, or any not so profound thoughts. It may be updated daily or maybe not a post for two months, depending on how much thinking we have done lately...
