I don't know if a bicycle inner tube would be the right size, but they are the strongest rubber for the size. They would last longer. I've cut them for other more common uses. That's quite a fix though. I had no idea that the price would be so high on the unit. I should start selling vintage gear on eBay or whatever the best auction sites are now.
