It's hard to pick a favorite, but despite the language and other issues I'd have to say The Godfather. I loved the character development, realistic cinematography, and moral dilemmas.

Also loved "Cool Hand Luke", "Castaway" "Elizabeth Is Missing" "12 Angry Men" "Unforgettable" "Red" and "Red 2"

I agree all three movies are masterpieces
The first is a fave for sure, and they are all still on Netflix. I've seen them a few times, especially the first one.

Contact was my favourite movie for many years, and I watched it about
once a year during that time... when I had a DVD player, that is.

I loved The Matrix also, and watched it many times. It is also still on Netflix. It gets tricky watching a fave over and over again because you don't want to spoil your enjoyment of it with over-indulgence... but each time I watched it, I appreciated it more and more. I remember seeing it with my daughter when it came out in 1999... she turned to me about ten minutes in and asked, what is happening? And I said, I have no idea LOLOLOLOLOLOL. It is another of those where you don't need to see the follow-ups, it stands so well on its own.

We had a member who was quite a big Star Wars fan, he was a great guy, so encouraging, and he started a Star Wars' thread. I say "had" because he has not been on site for over two years... almost three, now. I miss his good humor and positive outlook despite being no Star Wars' fan, though I did see the first three movies. I never did see Pokemon. I was a huge fan of Stargate (the movie, NOT the series) and also The Fifth Element. Saw both of them multiple times also .:D

Shortly after the platform change in 2018, I took a hiatus from the forums, but not before hanging out
in the chat rooms for two weeks, which I had never done before. Two weeks was enough for me LOL.

I can’t remember any political debacles in the chat rooms some 25 years ago. Is it my memory playing tricks on me? Lol

I enjoyed Cool Hand Luke and Castaway but have not seen the others. Another favorite of mine is Ben Hur, and North By Northwest.
