Apalachee high school had two armed resource officers. One report I watched said Gray came to school the previous day (his first day of actual attendance there) and did recon on the officers to learn their movements. Supposedly he started his attack when the officers were on the other side of the building. It seems their presence did eventually stop the shooter but they didn't actually prevent it. It seems like you would need armed guards posted everywhere in the building for that. However, the school had no metal detectors at all. Seems to me this could've made Gray's job a lot more difficult.

Thanks for that detail. I think that's pretty important to understand the mindset of the violent criminals. In this case the murderer was not deterred by armed police, two at that.
The only thing that may have changed the scenario is what you said. The only practical way to do that would be to have trained teachers armed with their weapon of choice.

Yes.... it doesn't "seem" that their presence stopped the shooter, they ABSOLUTELY stopped the shooter from having a much, much higher death count. If those two had not been there, this could have been disastrous.... much much worse than the tragedy it was.

The old saying, a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun, is true. And yet, the liberals, and even some "conservatives" say we should NOT have armed guards in schools.... Kamela says we need to "de-militarize" our schools... take away armed guards.

Why will she not run around with no armed guards? Is she better, more valuable than our children? Apparently she thinks so.

We are truly living in bizarro world... everything is backwards and upside down.

Until we protect our kids with at LEAST as much protection as we do our spectators at sporting events, this type of tragedy will continue.. criminally insane animals pick soft targets, for maximum damage.

Yes, 100% true!! We had the police alerted to a guy about the same age that was planning to shoot up a local school here a couple years back. Small town USA. Luckily someone let the authorities know soon enough and the police pulled up behind him just as he was backing out of his driveway, talk about a close one!

We have four schools in town, middle and high schools. Of those, one is Christian. And on the sign outside they tell you they are armed for the safety of their children. Guess which school the want to be shooter didn't choose? Exactly, he was going to hit the high school. I told that story to a family member that was ranting about protecting schools with guns. It's just plain old common sense.

I just listened to another interview from a student who went to the rest room just when he heard shots. He said there were three police in the hall talking. Then everyone was on lock down.

Here's a different interview that sheds some light on the murderer.
They will try him as an adult.

This is a lot more information.
The kid was making threats on social media last year. The father is charged for buying him the rifle since then.
The news actually posted the police interview from that time.

it sure is strange how most of these people who do the mass shootings are on law enforcement radar, but nothing gets done..

Exactly. There's a lot of these mass school murderers who are on psychiatric drugs, have histories of violence at least towards animals, they are now commonly perverted in their gender identity , some have parents who are spooks, and have a history of threats. The answer that we here in Mockingbird news is that new tougher laws must be used to make it impossible for the law abiding to have them. We see from history where that led to. Those who were controlled by the rulers used them against those innocent victims who were disarmed.
