What can you do to not be restless? I get restless very easily when I don't do something I like. In the winter it's easier because then I go snowboarding or driving my snowmobile. But now it's not as easy. I try not to think about it and just take it easy and watch a movie, read the bible or something like that but pretty quickly the thoughts fly away and I get restless. When I'm restless, I also get low self-esteem, which makes me seek validation from others. I really want to find ways to be able to handle it. Do you have ideas?
Of course, I talk to my friends about this too, but they are not Christians so I don't always get the answers I want.

I can add that I have ADHD, but I don't want to have to take the medicine you can get from the healthcare system as I get tired of it and it doesn't feel so good.

I can say that you are very self aware. I get restlessness also but for me I just go take a walk I have never taken medicine for it so I really can't speak to that.

Here is a verse for you that might help

Isaiah 26:3
"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee."

Do you have ideas?
שלום עליכם
Shalom, God's peace be with you.

I would suggest breathing exercises of aikido, by this I don't mean Buddhist or Thaoist way of life, but a psychosomatic exercise without adherence to Eastern philosophies.

God be with you. Praise Jesus.

Of course, I talk to my friends about this too, but they are not Christians so I don't always get the answers I want.

From a nutritionist point of view, a couple things that helped me personally were magnesium, calcium and vitamin D3. D3 is found in the skin of fish like salmon. The best way to get it is like in that beautiful photo at the top of the forum. It's absolutely free too. Sunlight exposure is God's way of providing this important nutrient. When our skin is exposed to sunshine, D3 is produced. This helps with us feel positive, calm and is required for uptake of calcium and magnesium.
Memorize those, because if you are a teenager, you'll need to get plenty of it to make your bones strong. Many teens have osteoporosis from not getting enough sunlight and minerals including those that help us be calm and relaxed. When you spend time outside with short sleeves to replace computer and TV time, you'll become healthier than your friends at school. This is especially important because you live so far north and summers are short.

Where do I find magnesium and calcium? Supplements that are the right kind. Many are not good enough to benefit, so it matters what compound. One brand name is a drink mix called Calm. It's decent quality and might be available in your grocery store.

The other sources are dark leafy greens. In my yard dandelions are growing. I pick them where I haven't sprayed the trees. They are common here and in Europe. I'm not sure if you have them, but if you ever want to try, make it a project with you and your foster parents. Just make sure that there are no toxic look alikes and there's been no weed killers used before. Every part is edible from the yellow flowers to the roots. I mix them with store bought greens because I didn't grow them this year. Some tolerate colder weather if they are started soon enough in a little garden or bigger planters.

There's another thing that helps.
Exercise is a good way to burn off stress. If you have scenic areas near home that you can walk, bike or jog to with a sister, I would do that every day. You'll get sunshine, exercise, fresh clean air and if you are still in summer, go barefoot for a little bit or work on a small garden with your hands. There is something special about contact with the soil that is amazing for reducing restlessness.

Speaking of amazing, that mountain range around the lake is amazing! I don't think I've seen a prettier place in Europe from all the movies and pictures I've seen. There must be a lot of tourists that vacation there.

If you think any of these would be helpful, Share it with your folks, Print this out or write on paper and take it with you. Make a plan if you decide to do these too. If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

It is not a good practice to seek validation from others. Allow God to validate you and the Holy Spirit to comfort and guide you.

In the eyes of God, once you received salvation by a contrite confession, the shed blood of Jesus dying on the cross will indeed validate you. In God's eyes you will be seen as white as the driven snow.

My validation of you, based on the wisdom and perception that I have received by the grace of God, you are most precious in the eyes of God. Live your life accordingly and feel about yourself as if you are the daughter of the King for this is certainly true.

God has great plans for you, and I am confident that you will succeed in performing the work that God has arranged for you to accomplish beforehand.

Thank you for the good word. and yes I should just care about God's validation. He is the one who save me and he is the only worth living for.

Go work out! they say working out is more effective than therapy. Release some endorphins. Get that heart rate up! Get a fitness tracker or watch and track those steps. Start at 10,000 and get to 15,000 a day.

Yes the nature is a gift and is show how big God is and hoe much he care about us
If you are near the ocean and the water is not too cold, there are good minerals like the magnesium that I talked about in it. Some find help by soaking in the ocean water, just sitting on the beach with adult supervision. I mix my own at home with Dead Sea Salt and hot water. I buy mine at the super market. It isn't as concentrated as the supplements, but it helps with restless legs and helps with sleep.

I find that magnesium is a huge help for restlessness as well! Also taking a prayer walk through the woods.
