If trade is poor, read Psa. 37; John 15.
If discouraged or in trouble, read Psa. 126; John 14.
If you are out of sorts, read Heb. 12.
If you are losing confidence in men, read 1 Cor. 13.
If skeptical, read John 6:40; 7:7; Philip. 2:9-11.
If you can't have your own way, read Jas. 3.
If tired of sin, read Luke 18:35, 43, 9-14; John 9.

Howdy RR and welcome to the forum.

Yes, yes, I know you've been here since March. But you spent all your time in the Bible Discussion Forum, where they argue all the time. Welcome to the REAL forum where we hang out and chat.

And if you are tempted to talk bad about somebody, read Proverbs 26:20

LOL ... It isn't my intention to argue, just a friendly debate. Some people unfortunately are way too combative, and I guess that's a good thing when it comes to what we believe and why we believe it.

And if you are tempted to talk bad about somebody, read Proverbs 26:20
"Where there is no wood, the fire goes out;" ... aah, one of my favorite verses.

I have just actually read that piece of scripture that you provided. Wise counsel for sure.

RR, thank you for posting. James 3. I was taught to be truthful even if it hurts. I never considered that God wanted us also to be kind while setting things straight. Much like how the father is kind to us, we need to be kind to others. God is leading me this way. I just read a poem a week or two ago by Amy Carmichael: "Never say anything unless it goes through three sieves: is it true, is it kind, is it necessary.

Let's start with verse 29:

29 He gives power to the weak,
And to those who have no might He increases strength.
30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary,
And the young men shall utterly fall,
31 But those who wait on the Lord
Shall renew their strength;
They shall mount up with wings like eagles,
They shall run and not be weary,
They shall walk and not faint.

Well daisy, as the saying goes "the Truth hurts." Sometimes we need to be as our Lord and His Apostles. Speak the Truth. As Ephesians 4:15 tells us to "speak the truth in love."

I just read a poem a week or two ago by Amy Carmichael: "Never say anything unless it goes through three sieves: is it true, is it kind, is it necessary.
Amy Carmichael (1867-1951) was a missionary to India. She wrote:

THE THREE SIEVES

“Let nothing be said about anyone unless it passes through the three sieves:
Is it true?
Is it kind?
Is it necessary?”

“Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you.” - Matthew 7:1-3
