I have a dear friend that I have know for many years and is suffering from schizophrenia and is delusional. She thinks a previous neighbor is stealing things from her or breaking her things or moving them about. She knows she has a problem and wants it to stop. But she does not want to see a doctor. I pray for her every day and I've told her that. She is now estranged from her family and does not want anything to do with them. She also has possessions in different storage units in different parts of the country. She is such a kind ,caring wonderful woman. Recently her mother passed away and so did 2 dogs. Can you please pray for her. Her name is Megan. I asked her to marry me too. But she is not sure about that. Pray for me too as I try to help her help herself.
I was touched by your post. I will certainly say a prayer for Megan.
I can understand your asking to marry her so you would be better able to take care of her. I went through something similar many years ago.
I met a woman who was not in the best of health with many various medical issues. Somehow she got through to me and touched my heart. I remember an early morning as I left my car and started heading into the facility where I worked. It was like God was talking to me. He asked if I was willing to take care of her as long as either I or her lived. He told me to count the costs as this would be the most difficult journey that I have ever taken. He also told me that once I decided either way that there was no going back. Thought about it and said that I was indeed willing to become her husband. This whole episode probably only lasted a few seconds but seemed like at least an hour had gone by.
We were married for over 11 years until the day that I asked the doctors to take her off the respirator so that she could die with dignity. She was my second wife after having been divorced from my horrible first wife for 18 years.
It was the hardest time of my life but also the most satisfying, taking care of her. I hope that God is with you on your journey as well. Many such journeys are possible for those willing to count the cost. Looking back I know that it was well worth the cost of admission.
Glad to have you onboard with us. Welcome to CC.
