I woke up tonight because some insect made a lot of noise in my bedroom. I used my electric mosquito buster to hunt it down and I experienced a feeling of true joy when the insect got electrocuted.

It got me wondering. Am I a bad girl for feeling joyful when a creature of God is going down in flames?

What constitutes a bad girl/guy?

The only good mosquito is a dead mosquito. God intended them to be food. The ones that don't get eaten are fair game.

Here in my area we had an infestation of earwigs/pincher bugs. At first I was ushering them out back when one or two would get inside. All of a sudden they were everywhere, in folded napkins, food the fridge etc. I had to face the fact, they needed to disappear quickly, lol. We had the house sprayed and no more bugs. No guilt here😂🙌

I apologize to God when I take a life. Uh, yeah, insect life that is. I am not admitting to anything else.

Glad that you felt a jolt of true joy when the little bugger got toasted.

How we treat insects is not the benchmark, although how we treat animals is considered a marker...

And of course, insects do fall into the category of animal and yet there is
a clear difference between them and say dogs or cats and other wildlife...

There is a kind of beetle here, I'm not sure what it is, but it makes an appearance in the colder weather -- and I am convinced these little things are tanks on legs.

I've tried squishing them in tissue -- so I thought -- only to see them crawling out of the trash. I've tried stepping on them with my indoor flip flops (I never wear outdoor shoes on my floors,) but alas. They spring right up as if nothing happened. I've tried throwing them in the toilet -- only to witness them swimming to edge and moseying on up like they're on a lake vacation.

And so, I've resorted to having a lit jar candle around -- so I can throw them into a pool of hot melted wax that they can't swim out of or crawl away from.

MUHAHAHA!!! DIE, you evil menaces, DIE!

Hot candle wax > beetles.

Yes, I feel slightly guilty doing this -- but if they knew what was good for them, they wouldn't enter into my domain -- and they'd be a whole lot easier to kill.

Sometimes, you're given no choice but to be the bad girl!

(That's what I'm going with at least.)

I encouraged my kids to slay any insect they found in the house. I told them that they get used to being inside and if you put them back outside they'll just find their way back inside so might as well just squish them and be done with it. Serves the bugs right for not honoring the "no trespassing" sign.

Hmph. You have no idea of the unholy joy I get when I kill a wasp that wandered inside.

Red wasps have no sense of personal space and they will sting you if they feel like it. They don't wait for provocation. So I take delight in killing them whenever they come indoors. They should stay outside and sting flowers and leaves and stuff.

Anybody who's NOT been Born Again of the Holy Spirit is, by definition, a SINFUL INDIVIDUAL.

Nothing else is significant.

I believe that @Susanna posed this question in a playful sense. Right now, the current flow of conversation is to whether it is morally reprehensible to kill mosquitoes. Red wasps too. I guess any little thing that flies and intends to sting you.

Totally unimportant.
??

Uh... Yes, if you pop in and spout off a comment that has nothing at all to do with anything this thread is about, that really IS totally inimportant.

I understand what happened. You read the thread title and slammed out a reply, without bothering to read the first post which detailed what the thread was really about. It happens.

That's why I took the time to inform you that this thread is about killing insects, not about what defines someone as good or bad.

I take pleasure in the elimination of wasp.

I forgot to include a verse.

Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways???

Mosquitos of the world, repent! Wasps of the world, repent! Turn, turn, turn I say, turn from your wicked ways!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hear ye, hear ye, all mosquitos, spiders, beetles, cockroaches, ticks, fleas, and vermin: Repent!!!

No? Okay. Death to you. "SQUISH* With apologies to God...
