Hey everybody, I brought this video to this forum because I know that many would not touch the BDF with a ten foot pole. It's very informational as well as entertaining. I hope you like it & recommend it to your family & friends.

I didn’t watch the video but I’m feeling entitled to have an opinion anyway. Even though I don’t know what I’m talking about.

I think spoons attracts demons so they can spoon feed people with their atrocities.

I heard owls were evil and should be avoided. Something about being creatures of the night.

Especially green ones.

I step away from the forum for a few hours, and come back to this kind of heresy...
🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍🐍

For anyone not in on the joke -- some of us who have met in person (or intend to) have a small group chat to keep in touch.

Lynx often say... highly controversial things there, especially about a certain stuffed owl I have that identifies as TURQUOISE, and NOT GREEN.

When Lynx says ESPECIALLY heathen things there, he will promptly get the snake emoji as a reaction.

I only use the snake emoji as the direst of last resorts, when I HIGHLY, POSITIVELY, MOST DEFINITELY disgreee with something being said. And if I leave 6 snakes, well... You know someone has obviously gone off the deep end.

Unfortunately, the system here has only a limited choice of "I highly disagree" emoji's, and so the best I could do with the CC system is give the cat a good old-fashioned thumbs down.

I tried to listen to the video. I really did.

But it reminds me too much of the experience I had with an Assemblies of God Pentecostal church I sometimes refer to as "The No-Owls Church."

I know this video has nothing but good intentions and some useful information. I'm not into having anything in my home that I know is associated with pagan rituals either. But a married couple in this particular church took it to the next level.

They once did a "prayer cleansing" on my home and insisted on things like, the wife noticed acardboard produce box I was using for storage. The family farm name on the box was "Hellenstein," and the wife didn't like that "Hell" was part of that name -- and so, it had to be thrown away.

What would they have told the poor family -- that they needed to change their name?!

This cross stitch angel picture I did had to be not only thrown away, but cut up into pieces so no one could dig through the trash and take it home, because they insisted it had the same spirit attached to as the scene in The Passion of the Christ when the devil is holding the baby.

I was just a teenager when I started on these pictures (it's a series and I had completed several of them,) putting my heart, soul, and hundreds of hours of work into them, but no, they "obviously" had a demon behind them, and had to be cut up and thrown away (I mean, can't you see the demon right there?!)

1722699330875.jpeg

Furthermore, they also insisted that people throw out anything in their homes with ANY images or references to "creatures of the night" -- including bats... and owls (which I happen to love.) Anyone with ANY home decor featuring any kind of nocturnal animal/anything associated with "darkness" needed to get rid of it because it could possibly be harboring demons.

But I was young, extremely emotionally vulnerable at the time, had been accused of rebellion by other church members, and was desperately wanting to follow God -- so I listened to every scrap of their "spiritual" advice.

Years later when I met Lynx and told him about this, he mentioned, "You know, cats are nocturnal..." and I was pretty sure the members of that church weren't going to be getting rid of their cats!!! This finally made me realize how some people cross the borders into a kind of spiritual insanity, and when they preach a good game, it can be hard to realize you're slipping across the line.

I am now the proud owner of 6 adorable stuffed owls, each with their own name and personality quirks (each one has a part of my personality projected into him or her,) and I frequently make jokes in reference to them in chat and here on the forum.

They all love God and frequently remind me to thank Him for His goodness.

And, owning said owls... may or may not be just a little slice of getting back at what these well-meaning church people took from me.

Wait... You're saying my innocent little observation about cats being nocturnal led to you eventually getting stuffed owls... Including the really pushy, obnoxious green one?

Thus does no good deed go unpunished.

Snakes are also evil, mostly because of the whole devil in the garden of Eden thing. That's the reason I run over snakes whenever I see them in the road. Or that's my excuse, because I just hate snakes. Either way, they are dead if I see them.

Yes indeed.

The No-Owls people had especially strong feelings about snakes...

It's ironic to me though that at one point, Moses was told to put a brass snake on a pole and if people looked at it, they would survive -- snake bites, to be exact.

I wonder what would have happened of that church had issued a decree that everyone had to get rid of their cats and any cat-associated decor or memorabilia in their homes.

After all, cats are the well-known familars of witches and wizards.

Winston is only obnoxious if he doesn't get fed.

And if it's any consolation, I didn't realize how much of a beef you were going to have with him when I got him -- or else I might have adopted his twin brother right along with him. :p

(He actually didn't have one -- I got him off ebay and he was the only one of his kind available from that seller, but...)

From now on, if I get any more, I'll have to make sure they have extra defenses against large cats. :sneaky:

I heard same too. But I don't believe it.

In my home town it is believe that owl is a messenger of death.

It is believed that if an owl is seen around any neighborhood someone is going to die soon in that neighborhood.

Even though my mum died 2 weeks after she and my sister saw an owl I still don't believe in the owl thing.

I believe owl is a beautiful bird created by God Almighty.

Wow, that kinda reminds me of churches in Appalachia. That goes to show that churches in any organization can go off the rails.
It's been my experience that when churches act like that they are very uneducated in the Word & immature.

Don't forget frogs. Frogs are evil too, or so I've heard. So anything frog related needs to be out of your house 😂
Fortunately for me I already don't care for frogs, so I'm not losing out. 😝

I'm definitely with you on the frogs.

FROGS ARE EVIL.

0 OUT OF 5 STARS, DO NOT RECOMMEND, BAN THEM IMMEDIATELY!

Any sane person can see the evil written all over this face!

It's always been interesting because I've heard the reasoning behind "frogs are evil" is because they were one of the 10 Plagues on Egypt.

If God would have sent, let's say, The Plague of Chickens, would chickens be seen as evil, too?!

Not that I'm particularly crazy about chickens, either. I was just fortunute that majority of animals on the "evil" list were ones I don't particularly find cute. :D

But oh no, I had to draw the line when it came to owls!

You have a lovely smile and a beautiful spirit, I'm praying for God to bring about His plan in your life as soon as you are ready! <3
