Reading the gospels, including Mathew Chapter 2, it got me thinking about how much of mankind sets store by plotting the positions of the stars and planets.
The wise men who went to seek the newborn Christ did just that. Does this mean that many things are influenced in our lives by the stars?
I always thought it was just a bit of fun or even a con, but here it seems there is much more to the art of astrology. A basis of truth even.

There is a massive difference between God’s use of star to signal particular events, and the position of the stars influencing or even predicting human events.

Horoscopes are a kind of divination which is a God-forbidden means of obtaining information. They are consistently erroneous but people who refuse to surrender to God pretend they are accurate and valid. There is no value in them, but there is danger.

It’s a form of celestial worship of stars and planetary bodies. Inviting people to trust in astrological signs and months they are born for guidance to follow rather than Gods truth to follow and guide us through faith and seeking and prayer

The Barnum Personality Affect

A known psychological tool, where someone thinks they have a psychological condition, but the psychiatrist concludes they have no real disorder.

The psychiatrist then gives them a generic personality profile after giving them a questionnaire, that is positive.

The patient thinks it's actually about them and changes the way they think about themselves. The symptoms of the disorder they thought they had disappear.

Horoscopes are similar in that they will be broad enough to apply to most people with a few little things in there so you think it is about you.

False prophets use this technique as well. And mentalists. Mentalists even more so ..study the mind to figure out most probable responses to stimulus and cues.

Some false prophets may be mentalists or have trained in mentalism.

No, I do not believe horoscopes are from God. It is just a form of entertainment but nothing serious. If someone is easily influenced they should not look at horoscopes.

Psalm 19:1
:)

all is tied together and all mixed up at the same time. Ecclesiastes the book of, reminds me all is vanity unless it is God leading through me, Which has not always happened, being in a body that is still unredeemed, that I see as dead daily

  1. Romans 6:6
    Your old evil desires were nailed to the cross with him; that part of you that loves to sin was crushed and fatally wounded, so that your sin-loving body is no longer under sin’s control, no longer needs to be a slave to sin;
In Context | Full Chapter | Other Translations
  2. Romans 6:12
Do not let sin control your puny body any longer; do not give in to its sinful desires.
Romans 8:38
For I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from his love. Death can’t, and life can’t. The angels won’t, and all the powers of hell itself cannot keep God’s love away. Our fears for today, our worries about tomorrow,
Astrology can't, Nothing can
Colossians 1:23
the only condition is that you fully believe the Truth, standing in it steadfast and firm, strong in the Lord, convinced of the Good News that Jesus died for you, and never shifting from trusting him to save you. This is the wonderful news that came to each of you and is now spreading all over the world. And I, Paul, have the joy of telling it to others.
Romans 14:14
The Law of Love
I know and am convinced by the Lord Jesus that there is nothing unclean of itself; but to him who considers anything to be unclean, to him it is unclean.

Do you see that above, this is between God and you, just see to not harm anyone or take away anyone's free will
Astrology is amazing, religion amazing, belief amazing, grace amazing
Therefore it is what one, anyone does with what is given them that destroys others freedom given them to love all in the same mercy and truth given them by Son on that cross, before the cross over that now is.
He's alive, risen where new life form us the people is given to live laugh, love and not harm others in that process
I always thought it was just a bit of fun or even a con, but here it seems there is much more to the art of astrology. A basis of truth even.
We need to distinguish between astrology (superstitions) and astronomy (science).

The Magi (Gk magoi) in the Bible were probably Persian or Arab astrologers to begin with, but somewhere along they way they were exposed to the Torah, and put their faith in the one true God. Therefore they turned to astronomy -- the study of heavenly bodies. At the same time they must have studied the Torah and Balaam's prophecy about the Messiah connected to a star. God showed them what to look for and used the star to guide them to Jerusalem and Bethlehem.

NUMBERS 24: PROPHECY OF THE STAR OUT OF JACOB (ISRAEL)
16 He hath said, which heard the words of God, and knew the knowledge of the most High, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:
17 I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.
18 And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.
19 Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.

God saw the sincerity of these Magi, who traveled all the way from Persia (Iran) to Jerusalem. God used these Gentiles as the first Gentiles to worship Christ. Because of the "Sceptre" they asked about where the King of the Jews would be born. But Herod was not too happy.

I suppose if your horoscope doesn't work out, you could put your faith in Fortune Cookies. Either one is as good a way to know Truth as the other, right?

So why would these men, described as wise, but certainly pagans, journey all that way to worship and respect Jesus? They brought gifts that were products of these Magi's native lands.
There is nothing that says there were three of them by the way. They were certainly wise in that they dodged telling King Herod anything solid.

BOY HOWDY!!! Astrology is (in its true form) a full blown satanic front door into the occult!!! You'r being fed information from demonic sources that APPEAR TO BE FACTUAL by virtue of their greater awareness of what's REALLY going on, and their spiritual influences on it.

Bottom line: IT IS SATANIC, and paying any attention to it, or any of it's variations will get you a WORLD OF HURT.!!!!

That God used it on the "Wise men" is incidental. Remember that God ALSO warned them NOT to tell Herod anything, and go back without speaking with him.

Yes, yet I notice this. They gave gold, frankincense and myrrh. Then when I see they were called to go to Egypt to save Jesus, this provided the wealth for their trip to Egypt, in my conjecture of this part of the history of Jesus

Hi Mary.
Good to see your posts again.
There is a difference between astrology and science with belief in God and signs from God. Don't mix them all together basically.
God can choose to send a Miracle in various different ways.
Similarly we can also study the stars and the planets to understand more about the mechanics of the Creations and how to prevent storms, earthquakes etc.
And at the same time, we don't want to worship Planets, Stars or Earthquakes.

Hope that makes sense. Don't mix them together basically.
