just something I been thinking on lately...
Sabbath Day Biblically is known for Rest similarly to God himself resting after 6 days of Creation and us Honoring him, praising and reading the Bible in my circumstances though such a day as Sunday isn't so accessible to me anymore...
so I have considered and been putting aside Wednesday for Sabbath would this be acceptable practice to the Lord?🤔🙏

The Messiah is our Sabbath. Rest in Him, and you will be just fine. We cannot change the order of creation, for the seventh day will always be just thatt. Praise Him every day, adore Him so, and always be in thanksgiving to and for Him. It is a wonderful attitude to maintain while we await our true country with Him as our eternal King.

Q. What is the Sabbath Day?

A. At first glance, the question “What is the Sabbath day?” seems fairly simple. According to Exodus 20:8–11, the Sabbath is the seventh day of the week, on which the children of Israel were to rest, in remembrance that God created the universe in six days and then “rested” on the seventh day. However, due to the misunderstanding and misinterpretation of some Christian groups, the meaning of the Sabbath day rest has been confused.

Some Christian groups, such as the Seventh Day Adventists, view the Sabbath as the day of worship, the day on which Christians should attend church/worship services. While these groups typically also teach that no work is to be done on the Sabbath, the concept of the “day of worship” is sometimes more emphasized than the “day of rest.” Originally, the Sabbath was a day of rest, and that purpose was retained in the Mosaic Law (Exodus 16:23–29; 31:14–16; 35:2–3; Deuteronomy 5:12–15; Nehemiah 13:15–22; Jeremiah 17:21–27). Under the Old Covenant, sacrifices were made daily at the tabernacle/temple. The “worship” was continual. And there were special commands given to Israel regarding a “sacred assembly” held on the Sabbath (Leviticus 23:3; cf. Numbers 28:9). The keeping of the Sabbath was the “sign” of the covenant between Israel and the Lord (Exodus 31:13).

The New Testament records Jews and converts to Judaism meeting in synagogues on the Sabbath (Mark 6:2; Luke 4:31; Luke 13:10–16; Acts 13:14, 27, 42–44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4). Obviously, with no work being done on the Sabbath day, the Sabbath day would be the ideal day to have organized worship services. However, the New Testament does not command that the Sabbath be the day of worship. The church is not under the Mosaic Law.

The church is under the New Covenant, established by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The Bible nowhere describes Christians setting aside the Sabbath day as the day of worship. The only Scriptures that describe Christians in any sense meeting on the Sabbath are in fact pointing to evangelistic efforts at Jewish synagogues, which met on the Sabbath day. Acts 2:46 records the early Christians meeting every day. The Bereans studied the Scriptures every day (Acts 17:11). Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:2 both mention Christians meeting on the first day of the week. There is no evidence in the New Testament that the apostles or the early Christians in any sense observed the Sabbath day as the prescribed day of worship.

Traditionally, Christians have held their primary corporate worship services on Sundays, the first day of the week, in celebration of Christ’s resurrection, which occurred on a Sunday (Matthew 28:1; Mark 16:2; Luke 24:1; John 20:1). It is important to understand, though, that Sunday is not the commanded day of corporate worship, either. There is no explicit biblical command that either Saturday or Sunday be the day of worship. Scriptures such as Romans 14:5–6 and Colossians 2:16 give Christians freedom to observe a special day or to observe every day as special. God’s desire is that (we worship and serve Him continually, every day, not just on Saturday or Sunday. We really do need a day of rest. Jesus said man was not made for the purpose of following rules, but he DID also say the rules were made for the benefit of man.

By a strange coincidence Wednesday is my Sabbath too. I have Sundays and Wednesdays off, but Sundays anything might happen. Family always drops by to see Grandma on Sundays. Nobody ever comes by on Wednesdays, and it is wonderfully peaceful.

Now there IS a benefit in having Sabbath on Sunday, because that gets everybody on the same page. If we could make it a national mandate like Americans used to, and like the Israelites do, having it on Sunday would make it a lot easier for everyone to follow it. But yeah, no, that ain't gonna happen in today's America.

Side note: I do think it's amusing to note that with Sunday being so hectic for so many people, a lot of people make Saturday the day they rest and have fun. So while Seventh Day Adventists may not see the rest of us at church on Saturday, a lot of people ARE making Saturday their Sabbath. =^.^=

that's pretty similar to me I always get 2 days off a week but, I typically gotta get laundry and grocery shopping done too so been seeing how it goes on Wednesdays so far so good,I mostly rest, read the Bible then at night go to the store to stock up for the week so it takes just a little scheduling but, working out pretty good😀👍

Actually, it might very well happen. There is a difference though between choosing a day of the week to set aside for a day of rest and worship rather than having a national mandate forcing people to observe a particular day.

The seventh day of the week, Saturday is actually the Sabbath, and this is the day that Israel observes and not Sunday.

This country has freedom of religion and having a law forcing people to observe a particular day would be a disaster along the lines mentioned in the book of Revelation. Ties in with the buying and selling, or lack thereof.

Oddly the only blue laws that still exist are somewhat tighter restrictions on sale of alcohol in some areas and... Cars, for some reason? Why can you sell anything on Sunday except cars? Maybe it's because the courthouse is closed on Sunday so you can't get the title registered or something.

God is too smart to declare any single day as a day of worship. He expects worship on every day. He knows that when we declare ONE day as day of worship, that is exactly what we will do. Modern Christians are masters at worshiping on one day.

He did declare six days for corporate worship, those are His ordained feast days. The Christian church in it's human wisdom has decided it is better not to acknowledge those days.

Worshiping YHWH on any day is acceptable as is corporate worship on any day. We just need to do that worship
according to his commands.

The Sabbath, like every ordinance of God, was always pointing to Christ. When God gave the 10 commandments in Deuteronomy, He tied the commandments to His deliverance of His people. The significance of this is that the greater deliverance through Christ was in view. In this light, more of the purpose of God in the giving of the Sabbath ordinance was revealed. It is still not the complete picture. We don't get that until we understand that Christ is our Sabbath rest, but it does allow us to see how God over time is giving revelation and filling in the gaps for us. And to understand the true significance of the Sabbath, we shouldn't assume all there is to know concerning it is found upon its initial revelation. The Sabbath was given by God for men to know Christ, and in knowing Him, to find rest in Him.

Yes, in fact it doesn't even have to be a day, though there is value in that. For example, a busy mom might have an hour of 'Sabbath' each day while her toddler naps. The law was our teacher, but not being under the law any more means we are responsible for applying the spiritual lessons taught by it in the best way possible for our particular journey.

As a former 7th day Sabbath keeper myself, I am also very aware of the discussion in Romans 14 that gets into this issue pretty directly.
