The fitness community is definitely inspiring, albeit, a little intimidating, lol! I'm in a chat where they'll post inspirational quotes and memes from those huge bodybuilders -- not really my style, but hearing the dedication the other chatters have helps keep me motivated.

We're all trying our best to make progress, no matter where we are in our journeys.

I often think things like, "Oh, what shape would I be in if I had been able to stick to working out 5 days a week!"

But, all I can do is try to make sure that I get around to it the next chance I have. :)

I knew a guy who could only go once a week and even he was progressing and he wasnt a young man by any means.

I’m happy to meet so many people who have completely different perspectives than myself. Unfortunately I’m not smart enough to learn from that. Maybe I need something that could boost my intelligence?
Woman.

I mean this in the nicest possible way.

I want you to start giving yourself more credit or I may have to throw something heavy at you! :D

I know you were gone from the forum for a while (and I'm so glad you came back!) ❤️ So in the entire time you've been here, you've been whip smart with a sense of humor to match. You've survived the military AND law enforcement. You speak at least two languages -- so fluently that you're able to joke, converse, and throw down witty dialogue in your second language!!!

I can't even comprehend how much intelligence that must take!!! I've always marveled at just SPEAKING another language -- but to be able to translate humor as well?! I've talked to several multi-lingual people who have said that's one of the hardest things to accomplish in another language.

I love the things you share! And I learn a lot from you, which means you are absorbing everything that's said, because you're able to process it and respond back in a way that really cuts to the chase with other people.

Much love to you and please, don't put yourself down!

(Or else.)

I mean, seriously... Don't make me break out my Northern Aggression!! :p:cool::love:

Thanks. I do understand what is written (at least I believe so), but I’m more concerned about what I put down in writing myself lol.
A quick and pointed response is often exactly what is needed. Brevity has never been my strong suit but I admire the skill in others. It's good to have you here! 😎

Yes!

These are the people I'm looking at and the ones I look up to the most.

Not the young kids -- I just want to encourage them and learn what I can from them -- but the older people who are going at it, wow!

I love that they show us what can be done, despite getting older.

soeul truth is those massive fitness dudes are on drugs and without them it takes Many yeaars to reach even part of what they have. twenty yeaars is typically what it takes to reach natural full potential.

Yes!

It truly worries me that the young kids look up to them so much -- I wonder if they bother to look up the YouTube channels talking about how many of these guys have ruined their health, can no longer walk, or have even passed away.

Stingray, I have a nosy question that might be offensive. But somehow I feel like you wouldn't mind. But still not sure if I should ask it. 🤔

It’s not northern aggression, it’s US aggression, according to some people here in Texas lol. We have an outspoken group of people here who want to secede from the union, but so far they are luckily just a bunch of extremists.

There’s a lot of things that I don’t understand about social behavior, and maybe that’s why I can come across a little weird at times. On the (good???) side it makes me just soldier on whether it’s on the battlefield, just speaking with people no matter language or just not sense whether people are emotional or not.

Forgive me if I have my info wrong, but I think I'm remembering that you mentioned a physical disability. Was that something you had to overcome to do the weight-lifting, or did you take up lifting in order to help overcome it?

Please forgive me if that's too nosy or my facts are wrong, I just find it interesting when people are able to overcome odds and still have such a positive attitude 🙏. Care to share more of your story?

No harm what so ever. I have cerebral palsy which just affects my legs and i walk with crutches its something ive had from birth. I started out doing just my upper body and later did extensive cardio on the treadmill but soon found out it messed with my back so im back to just doing my upper body. I do have tighness in my legs though which makes it hard getting on and off some machines. But i look forward to the day God will heal me and all of those people will wonder and ask.
