2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Authorized (King James) Version

7 And lest I should be exalted above measure through the abundance of the revelations, there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, the messenger of Satan to buffet me, lest I should be exalted above measure. 8 For this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. 10 Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

Matthew 7:22-24

Authorized (King James) Version

22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock:

So ask self, are you working iniquity or working in iniquity, that you need Father and Son to lead you?

I see a stark difference, anyone else?

I see someone trying to make a comparison of two passages of scripture having two totally different contexts and meanings within those contexts.

That is all I see - if I missed something - then - well - I guess I just missed it...

Sounds like Paul was writing that felt like he should be receiving acclamation from the world for things he was saying but instead he was be subjected to violent opposition that was an obstacle to his rise to great prominence in the world. So he took his grievance to his Lord who told him...well, those with the mind of Christ don't need anyone to tell them the rest of the story.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? 23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. And those who think they hear his saying always claim that they built their house upon a rock, I guess we'll see. How bout you, are you building your house upon the rock?

Yep I see the difference

It should be noted that Paul sought the Lord over it until God answered. He most likely fasted as well. He had seen miracles and no doubt healings and knew God could heal him.

believe, God in the done work of Son as risen for you. Receive this from God Father of risen Son and see new over time in not ever denying God along your walk. Understanding, we are all like a Job in the book of Job

And seeing God's grace as sufficient as God said his grace is sufficient, he saw to rest in that truth. Which freed him from under Law to uphold law as good and continued to see the need for God to lead through him, as if he the first born him, was now dead and daily saw to do that.
Romans 6,7,8
Amazing grace this is, to be given it and only give God credit for it is amazing, knowing
I do not deserve to have gotten it, yet have it.
Woe, woe is me
