I have used Linux since 2005-ish. I tried different distros, but I ended up with the boring, yet trusty Ubuntu. I miss special editions like edubuntu and one for music making. They seem to have gone, as well the Ubuntu TV and mobile phone. I was soooooooo eager to have my own ubuntu phone, but then I ended up with Android, as I need certain apps for work. I used to use DSL pendrive, but I dont see the point anymore. My PC runs Ubuntu, and my laptop Windows, mostly because of work and I need the full version of Words, and Libre Office is not enough... then I rather use google docs. And onedrive is irritating because it sometimes seem to save documents but doesn't and is also too slow. I use Google docs for marking and also the reference tool there is easier to use, and have APA7th (Word is still on 6). I might install a Linux distro on my laptop... but am not ready for that yet.

I sense a definite bias there...

I have used linux a couple different times but have ended up with ubuntu lts mostly...its nice when you cant use windows but somehow i always come back

This is an old computer my buddy gave me and believe me I've used older ones than this when I was in school.

I still have it set up, I need to turn it on and check and make sure its still kicking. But I know it is. Its an old C16.

Yes, I am on Debian currently. I switched over.... last year? Steam has made it a breeze, I love to game and their Linux support is the best I have ever seen.

Do yall think I should format a 256 usb to exfat or ntfs for video files? It will probably be used for windows only, but it would be nice to have a linux option thats why im considering exfat.

Are they going to be bigger than 4 gig?

I'd just do FAT32 if they won't.

NTFS can be read by both Windows and Linux so that would be my next choice.

The limiting factor is not "what will work with Linux" but "what will work with Windows." Windows don't care nothing about other formats. So definitely don't use ext4.

Umm what's all this hate about EXFAT?
Works fine between Macs and Windows and the 1 Linux user that i know at my job.

And if it's for Windows only, always use NTFS.

Hating? Lack of use doesn't necessarily indicate active hatred... I just use other stuff, and he asked, so I said what I use.
