Do you believe a person must obey the Gospel which is another way of saying
“obey the truth”?

But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Isaiah says, “LORD, who has believed our report?” Romans 10:16

JPT
No he believes Paul preached a different gospel than Jesus preached and promised eternal life in .

These scriptures has reference to the born again children of God; The following inserts are not referencing eternal life, but are referencing deliverances that the child of God receives as he sojourns here in this world.

"Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (free from ignorance of the truth).

"Every one that heareth my word (John 10:26-29), and believeth on him that sent me, (already) hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death ( being spiritually dead in sins) unto life ( life in Christ) This is all in past tense.

Just a suggestion; It might help if you referenced the Greek concordance.

Life, in every scripture, does not reference eternal life. World, in every scripture, does not reference the world that God loves. Salvation, saved, save = deliverance, most of them being deliverances that the, born again, child of God receives as he sojourns here on earth.
oh no … I’m not interested in rejecting the gospel Jesus preached and sent to the world for salvstion and claiming Paul preached a different salvstion no thanks I think we settled this when I first came here

"The Gambler

There are so many ways to gamble these days! Casinos that used to be found
only in Las Vegas now seem to be everywhere. People gamble on sporting
events, at racetracks, and in state lotteries. Others risk their hard-earned
money in the stock market, which is always a gamble! But even if you have
never placed a bet, if you are not saved, you are gambling with eternity.

You might be thinking, “I don’t use that word saved,” but I wonder if at
some time in your life you’ve sung that most beloved of all Christian hymns,
“Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me.” You may
have sung the song, but are you saved? We call the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior;
well, the purpose of a Savior is to save people! Has He saved you?

The Bible says, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved
(Acts 16:31). Now, if you are wondering what it is specifically that you have
to believe about Christ to be saved, the Apostle Paul told the Corinthians,

“I declare unto you The Gospel Which I preached unto you...by which
also ye are saved...how that Christ died for our sins According To The
Scriptures; and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day”
(I Corinthians 15:1-4).

Here the Bible clearly says that the way to be saved from your sins is to believe
that Christ died to pay for your sins. So the only question now is, do you believe
God when He says your sins are paid for? Do you trust Him when He says that?
If you do, the Bible says that you are saved!

If you are not sure what I’m trying to say, suppose for a moment that you have
a serious gambling problem, and that you have racked up a million dollars in
gambling debts. One day some very bad men threaten to kill you unless you
pay your debt. Naturally, you are very afraid, because you don’t have the money.
But just then a friend emails you to say, “I heard about your problem, and I paid
your debt.”

Now you have to ask yourself, “Do I really believe my friend when he says he paid
my debt? Do I trust him when he says my debt is paid?” If you don’t believe him,
you’ll have to keep trying to pay your debt on your own. But if you do trust your
friend when he says he paid your debt, you’ll thank him for it, and simply rest in
what he did for you.

That’s all God asks of you to be saved from your sins. Believe that Christ paid
for your sins, and rest in what He did for you. If you’ll do that, the Bible says
you are saved. If you won’t, well, you’ll just have to go on trying to pay for your
sins in your own way, by being good, by not being bad, or by being religious—
something the Bible says you can never do:

“But to him that worketh not, but believeth on Him that Justifieth
the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness” (Romans 4:5).
“For By Grace are ye Saved Through faith; and that not of yourselves:
It Is The Gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast”
(Ephesians 2:8,9).
“Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but According
To His Mercy He Saved us” (Titus 3:5).

If you are still not sure what I am trying to say, I have a little exercise for you.
Later today, or perhaps tomorrow, you are going to do some good thing, or
avoid doing some sinful thing. At that moment, you will be tempted to think,
“I just helped pay my way to heaven.” When that happens, stop yourself, and
say,

“No, the Bible says that the only way I can get to heaven is by believing that
Christ died for my sins.” Just keep that up, and eventually you’ll learn to trust
what Christ did on the cross of Calvary to pay for your sins, and rest completely
in what He did for you.

They say life is a gamble, and I suppose in many ways it is. But don’t gamble
with eternal life. The stakes are much too high. I promise you this: A thousand
years from this moment, you will remember this moment. And whether you
remember it with joy or eternal regret depends on the decision you must make
right now to trust Christ as your Savior.

Grace, Peace, And JOY!
With all do respect, and in harmony with other scriptures, I believe this verse is in reference to the born again, servants of the Lord ( Isaiah 54:17). Hearing the truth gives life to the born again person as he lives here on earth.
Yeah hearing the truth your right

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭KJV
“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.”
‭‭John‬ ‭14:6-7‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.”
‭‭John‬ ‭18:37‬ ‭

“But ye have not so learned Christ; if so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:

that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;

and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:20-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The truth indeed
“God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. The woman saith unto him, I know that Messias cometh, which is called Christ: when he is come, he will tell us all things. Jesus saith unto her, I that speak unto thee am he.”
‭‭John‬ ‭4:24-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s sobering sometimes

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.

For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; and hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man.

Marvel not at this: for the hour is coming, in the which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, and shall come forth;

they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life;

and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of damnation.”
‭‭John‬ ‭5:24-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

It’s a matter of us rejecting or accepting the truth that’s the only thing that condemns us when we reject the truth God sent into the world for salvation

He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak.”
‭‭John‬ ‭12:48

When we accept the truth though something important happens

“in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:25-26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

or in other words

“If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free”

I look at it this way...
If one TRULY loves God, with everything He or she is, then they will NOT disobey His Word in any way. IF they accept Yeshua as King and Savior, again, they will NOT disobey HIS Word. Period.

Your post brings up an important point about the many forms of gambling in life. It's true, we often take risks without even realizing it. But the ultimate gamble, as you mentioned, is the one concerning eternity.

The analogy you used really hits home. Just like trusting a friend who paid off your debts, believing in Christ's sacrifice for our sins is about trust. It's not about what we can do to earn salvation, but rather trusting in what He has already done for us.

It reminds me of a time when I found solace in a different kind of trust—when I discovered Maxwin303. Just as trusting a friend to pay off a debt brings relief, trusting in the thrill and fairness of a platform like this can bring a sense of security to your gaming experience. Ultimately, it's about placing your trust wisely and finding peace in your choices.

This post contradicts such scriptures as James 2:24- “…NOT by Belief Alone.”
Acts 3:19 - REPENT and be converted that your sins may be blotted out.” If repentance is necessary for the removing SINS, then there is more you have to do than believe. And then Faith is not the ONLY THING that removes sins.
Romans 10:10 - that CONFESSION is made unto SALVATION. And Matthew 10:32 says if we don’t confess Him, Christ will not confess us to the Father. That clearly makes CONFESSION necessary, but if ALL we have to do is believe —then that makes repentance and confession unnecessary. You can’t have it BOTH WAYS.
1 Peter 3:21 says BAPTISM SAVES US. That certainly is clear. It’s hard to misunderstand that.
If your doctrine contradicts scripture, there is something WRONG with your doctrine. The Bible does not contradict itself.

Grace, Peace, And JOY!

“Believe on the Lord and you will be saved” is taken from Acts 16. Instead of taking one verse out if it’s context, let’s look at the WHOLE story. Paul and Silas have been beaten and put in a Roman jail. Long story short, there was an earthquake that opened all of the prison doors. The jailer is spared certain death for letting the prisoners escape, by Paul saying, “ Do yourself no harm—we are all here.” NOw the jailer asks, “ What must I do to be saved?” This jailer is a Roman gentile. There is no reason to believe he believes in the true God instead of the idolatry of Rome. He’s probably never even heard of Jesus Christ! Paul tells him to believe—but believe what? Belief is the first thing he needs. Without it, there is no reason to tell him he needs to repent. Without faith , he certainly will never confess the Lord. Faith must come FIRST. It’s the first step, but it is not the end of the story. So then what happens? The VERY NEXT VERSE (32) They spake the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house.” They taught him about Gid, His Son and how to be saved. The jailer NEEDED teaching because he did not know who or what to believe. In the very NEXT VERSE (33) the jailer and all his family were BAPTIZED! I wonder how they knew to be baptized? I wonder WHY they would be baptized at that hour of the morning—the middle of the night! Remember the earthquake happened around midnight. The only way he could have known about baptism in the name of Jesus for the remission of sins was because that was part of the word of the Lord that Paul and Silas taught him. If it was not important why even bring it up in the wee hours of the morning? If it wasn’t necessary why not wait for a more convenient time—at least not in there middle of the night! But the scriptures say they were BAPTIZED. IMMEDIATELY!! Must have been important; and it was. The jailer was saved just like Jesus said in Mark -6:16–“He that BELIEVES and is BAPTIZED shall be saved.”
Beware of men who do not tell you the WHOLE story!
