Yes, but God is not the Author of confusion. And He gives us wisdom when we ask Him in Faith.

‭James 1:2-8 NKJV‬

[2] My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, [3] knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. [4] But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. [5] If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. [6] But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. I certainly agree that God's will isn't necessarily complicated.

But I can also certainly testify to the things that make it hard to hear God or know what His will is.

For instance.

You to go work, it's a normal day. You come, and notice part of the house is extraordinarily neat. But suddenly... Your heart floods with panic, because you know something is wrong. You run to the closet and find... Half of it is empty.

Your husband has left, in the middle of the day while you were at work, without so much as a word of warning. Several months later, you get papers that say, "You Are Being Sued For Divorce" in the mail.

You fast, you pray, you stay up for nights on end because you are physically so distressed that you can't sleep. You have a choice to not legally grant him the divorce, but something in you says, "Let him go." And you don't know why. Isn't this a sin? Doesn't God want marriages to be held together no matter what?

But something in you says to sign the papers and let him have his wish. You are left not only with an empty home and heart, but all the bills. You decide, after praying with your family, to leave the area for a full-time job, even though you're very close to getting a Master's Degree.

Half a year later, one of your friends calls you at 2 AM in the morning. Up until this point, your husband never gave you a reason as to why he left. Your friend finally gives you the answer.

Your husband was recently spotted, in the old area where you used to live, hand-in-hand with his girlfriend. They had gotten together even when you were married, but they were able to keep it under wraps until now, and had decided to go public since you are no longer living in that area.

This whole time, the church and its members, not knowing any of this, was telling you that you had no Biblical reason to divorce, you terrible sinner, and that at age 25, I could never marry anyone else again.

Finally, you know why, in the midst of all the confusion over keeping a marriage together no matter what, the Holy Spirit, and your family, had been nudging you to let him go.

His heart already belonged to someone else.

What was the will of God?

For him to change his mind, to leave this girl, to go back to his marriage, and for me to forgive all. But God already knew what was going on and what would happen (he eventually married someone else, though not this girl,) and He was leading me forward, complete wreck that I was.

Yes, the will of God isn't complicated.

But as Lynx said, life itself throw more than a few wrenches into the mix, and they're not just easily dealt solved with just another repetition of Bible verses we all know. And the damage, even though God heals, is permanent. Some things won't be healed until we get to heaven.

I deeply appreciate the completeness of your detailed scenario. That has the sting of betrayal, deception, infidelity, shame, and a whole lot more! My heart goes out to whoever that happened to because I agree it was evil and downright not fair!!! But I also know the grace, love, and truth of God and His gospel has enough power to heal every broken heart completely. Since He raised Jesus from the dead, is there anything too difficult for Him to accomplish??? I'm feeling that the story you shared is actually yours, but I could be wrong too. If it is your story, my heart truly goes out to you and I would love to talk with you further about it if you feel it would help you. Please let me know either way! I had noticed a while back that in another post you had wrote to someone else here on the forum, you asked them, "How can I serve you today?" which really touched my heart, and is why I've been trying to read your threads.

The majority of people here (myself included,) are often the ones asking for prayer, advice, or something from others.

It is incredibly rare to find someone who has their heart set on serving and giving to other people instead.
