Can a once truly saved believer backslide too much and lose the gift of salvation? If so do they need to repent and ask for forgiveness through Christ again? Thoughts are welcome and scripture too!
S
If, I have to repent again, ask for more forgiveness given by God through Son's done work on that cross over 2,000 years ago now. Then I might not understand what is done for me by Son, Jesus about what is new in his risen Life. Without finalizing one is forgiven by God to them and for them on that final sacrifice of that cross in the last shedding of blood for it, how will anyone see new life given them from God Father to them?
What, I hear you, think on it, John 19:30 what got finished?
How many sins, errors, did he go to that cross for, how many, are taken away then and there, in his Father's view for us? Is it finished or not?
Are we forgiven by this done work or not?
We are reconciled according to 2 Cor 5:17-20
2 Corinthians 5:17-20
King James Version
17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead,
be ye reconciled to God.
Okay, there I did it again, what I do not ever want to sin again and yet have anyways. in belief see (Romans 7) read 6-8 of Romans in context
God replies you are forgiven by me in my Son for you on that cross, it is finished done, you are reconciled! (2 Cor 12:7-10)
Man, says, No! you got to get it right and repent again, you not saved, because, you sinned again, as those saying this are in sin still too! yet will not tell you, and are doing their best to control you and others too, such is religion.
You better or else get it right, repent and do it no more, or God is going to get you, is the belief's of people all over the world, not understanding what Grace from God is for?
What, then is it Lord I need? Since you have forgiven me by Son for me and all others as well? (1 John 2:1-4)
God says in Spirit and Truth to you within you, The Holy Spirit of promise, You need Life, from death. You, and all are first born as dead to me in the first birth, here on earth of man and woman having sex. We, as I see it now, need God to give us all new life more abundantly. (John 10:10) the first part is emotion(s) leading people into worry. The Last part of that verse is, new life offered to us in his risen life presently and forever. In, the risen Life of Son for us. To, understand this truth for you to walk new and love all in mercy and truth, doing the same work of my Son Jesus that is now done forever in my love and mercy for you through Son to you, He, Son, Jesus did it for you already on that cross for everyone to turn to me in belief, I Love you. That is deep, wide and high y'all and truth beyond measure the only God reveals to each.
There is no more need for repentance, once one has turned to God in belief to God over Son as risen for them too. There is need to learn what is new given you.

Now, carry on in belief to this new you, given you from God to you, on the very first day you decided to believe God, you will learn more and more daily in this done work of Son for you, carry on my wayward child, there will be peace when you are done.
Philippians 1:6
King James Version

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
Amazing Grace, I had nothing to do with this gift, only to be given it from God who seriously loves us all, y'all
