Hello everyone.

New user here. I'm hoping to find some good threads to help me have some better understandings and get closer to God. If anyone has some videos of good sermons or just some uplifting/inspirational videos, feel free to link me some. I would appreciate anything helpful.

Hi there. Thanks for the welcome and the verses. I appreciate it. I'm actually trying to find a site to read the bible but for some reason the few I've found only let me search for verses and not just read it outright.

Hi, thanks for the welcome and the videos. I actually was just getting to watch the gospel of John on youtube after a couple more videos I have lined up. I've never heard of the Alpha Course, but i'll be sure to watch those links as well. Thanks for all the links.

Bible Gateway & King James Bible online/ downloadable from site, will let you if you start in Genesis of the Old Testament or Matthew in the New Testament.
There is a next chapter @ the end of every chapter, plus you can search individual verses in multiple versions.

The Alpha Course holds a special place in my heart because, long story short, it was while I was attending that a couple of decades ago that I finally came to the realization that I no longer need any more convincing of the Truth of God's revealed written Word, surrendered my opposition to God, got baptized, and began my Christian journey in earnest. The videos themselves are meant to be watched over dinner in a community setting, where participants get to ask questions of the hosts, but by themselves, they are just so chock full of wonderful info and facts about our faith that I often recommend them to those looking for help in their walk. I hope you are blessed by them. There are also other great gospel videos available on youtube. If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask! .)

Well, I'm far from a social person so i'll be watching those videos solo, lol. But i do appreciate you posting them for me. I'm trying to move my life away from just random videos and music, to only taking in videos and written words of God. I'm hoping it all will change me and bring me closer to God.

That video is great. Earlier today I was questioning my decisions. Doubtful if the way I decided to change my life was the correct way to come closer to God's light. I got saved in my mid teens and even since then I still lived in sin. On and off praying for repentance and then giving into temptation over and over. I always felt my salvation was false because how could I intentionally keep doing that while expecting god to not care. It just felt like taking God for granted and enjoying sin while assuming that it's okay cause I asked for salvation. Just yesterday I made the decision to get rid of all the music I listen to (lots of satanic metal and songs of worldly things) that distract me from thinking about God. Got rid of all my bookmarks of reading sites and youtube channels that are either distractions of thought or things that drew me back into sin. Then made the decision to only read the bible or something to involving God/fellowship and only watch videos of sermons or something spiritually inspiring. Earlier today I also found a Christian help chat to ask if I'm on the right path for true salvation and I was told something extremely similar to the words in the video. It clarified a lot of things I never could figure out. Now I'm hoping to keep my life clean and stick to only taking in information on God and his word so He will remain my focus, instead of the world and the sin that dwells in it. Thank you for that video. It really makes me feel like I'm finally doing something right in my life and I can only hope and pray that i stay with this path and never go back. I pray that you always stay in God's light and that all your worries and sorrows be given to God so you can solely focus on Him so that he will take care of them in your stead.

Hi there. Thanks for your welcome. I'm from the lower part of northern California. Unfortunately not from any cold parts. I am an odd one since I've always preferred the cold and night time over the heat and daylight lol. Summer is miserable for me and unfortunately most winters aren't good cold for me. I've also noticed over the years how many interpretations there can be over the words of God. I can only pray that as I stick to my path that God will keep my mind clear of confusion so I do not stray from Him.

I did the Alpha Course during lockdown and found it really helpful.
The Gospel of John is a great film and Henry Ian Cusick plays the Lord Jesus well 🥰 I have that on DVD and have watched it a few times 😃

Thanks! So far, I have only watched one of the Alpha Course videos. I ended up watching some interesting videos of testimonies as well as a podcast of an astrophysicist giving reasons to believe in God. Now, I'm watching the gospel of Matthew. I enjoyed the gospel of John so much that I had to look for another one. Now I'm getting ready to sleep once I finish the gospel of Matthew, but I have bookmarked the Alpha Course and am looking forward to watching more of it tomorrow. Thanks for sharing your input. I pray that you have a good night/morning, depending on what time it is where you live, lol.

I have only watched the Gospel of John so you will have to let me know if Matthew is worth a watch 😊
