It's a flat out lie. They are monkeying with the numbers. It doesn't take a Mensa candidate to figure out that if you were paying $12 for 5 pounds of beef and now are paying $18, that's a 50% increase.
macaroni for a dollar, nope! More like anywhere from 2-3 dollars for 500 grams on some types of pasta.
Many other things, a 50% increase sounds more accurate than anything close to 20%. But not all.
Still, one bag of groceries can cost over $50.00 and sometimes closer to or more than $100.00.
I feel sorry for young people, and those who are not well situated financially.
