Hey brother, I had a slow night at work last night and was able to do some quality meditation on Gog/Magog and how they may fit into the beast's (Satan's) empire during the last days, and these verses kept ringing in my thoughts:
Revelation 13:7-9
New King James Version
7 It was granted to him to make war with the saints and to overcome them. And authority was given him over every [a]tribe, tongue, and nation. 8 All who dwell on the earth will worship him, whose names have not been written in the Book of Life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
9 If anyone has an ear, let him hear.
The literal interpretation for this is straight-forward. The beast will have authority over the entire world and will even be worshipped. This charismatic yet crooked despot under the power of the devil will rule the world for a short time, and even current hostile nations of the West like China, Russia, and Iran could unite under this facade of a peaceful and prosperous world order for all nations to enjoy.
I've been in industry for over 35 years, and it wasn't that long ago that we here in the U.S. had a great trade arrangement and relationship with both China and Russia. We were encouraged (and even forced in some cases) as automotive buyers to source as much business as possible with China if there was a substantial cost savings, and Russian steel was a hot commodity. Money can bring the worst of enemies together for at least a short time if it benefits the "partnerships". How quickly that can all fall apart when circumstances change (e.g. current state relationship between the U.S. and China/Russia).
The U.N. makes much more sense to me now as the beast's potential organizing entity that he can coerce with charisma and deception. The devil will be pulling all of his old tricks out of the bag during the short power/prosperity the beast will have during the tribulation.

yea I consider Islam to definately be involved if things unfold in our time goven nations like Iran and so many Islamic nations position against Israel and tbier efforts to gather the worlds support against Israel as of late

i myself believe the “ 1000” year reign is in heaven and whenever Jesus returns to earth is the end of it and that’s when the last resurrection happens. So it gives me a bit of a different perspective of revelation ( not insisting my view is the right view but it is how I do look at it as if his reign is in heaven and has been going on a very long time which is what 1000 years represents a long drawn out time period. Where as for instance “ they took power with him for one hour “ would represent an extremely short period of time … I hope that explains some of my wierd ideas hahaha

i really think the technology we have in modern days also is something that needed to happen before the end for some of it to make sense and also o believe fully that Islam is a real player and the worlds opinion of Israel currently if it’s at all going to be in my life it would be happening pretty soon and of course we can see things line up but maybe they can in every generation see some of the signs because we’re meant to live as if it’s imminent and going to be soon so we live more ready and as if it’s real
It’s easy get overwhelmed with earthly life when we’re young and have families and jobs and a life to the point we aren’t really aware of things happening in tbe world around us through a biblical insight . I say this because I remember times in my life that it describes me
forget to even pray sometimes or study at all back in the old days and was so in the dark about biblical matters not even considering them believing them always for certain bit often not really having them as a priority or as if it’s all true and real and close and ready to happen soon someday
Of course not to a panic state but to a live upright and be ready state . Don’t do that old evil but do that new good kind of way sort of waking up from a slumber sort of way
Or rising from the dead sort of way. Maybe everyone in every generation sees earthquakes and eclipses and hears of wars and rumors of wars and maybe nations have always fought against nations ect
Im not sure that makes sense eventually it’s all coming to pass but maybe also there’s a design to it so we live as if Jesus is coming soon so we need to look at it this way through Gods true and saving grace

yes privately I’m totally on board with the same thinking brother the u.n.s stance against Israel really since it was formed tells me a lot and just looking at the movements across the world currently in some of those nations against Christianity and also the Jewish people im general as it has been perpetually in tbe world for so very long against them
It seems to me the world is moving rapidly and against Israel in tbe generwl public opinions regarding the current conflict in Gaza there are nations that have never been against them starting to now turn against them . Plus irans proxy arms and terror cells throughout the e tire Middle East have to be part of it all as well isis Hamas ect ect

Yeah, Islam is one of the great lies the enemy has over the Arab and Persian people. In 2012, after the mullahs were exposed as puppets for the government in Iran a new cry was heard by many Iranians: "We are Iranians!" This contrasted the typical cry of support for Muhammad and the Qur'an. This trend, removing oneself from Islam, has been increasing ever since. Just recently, some prominent imams publicly voiced their concern for the young people leaving, or not embracing, Islam.
Word on the ground is that many are quietly coming to Christ

I sure hope so I knew a few Muslims who were in the army and then later in life one of them converted to Christianity the other sort of stopped believing in everything as far as the last contact I had with him bout ten years ago .

You're right, Pilgrim, that technology has helped pave the way for the end times, and I am amazed at how quickly circumstances in our world have changed from where we were just a few short years ago. It reminded me of the verse from Daniel:

4 “But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book until the time of the end; many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall increase.”
Where industrialized nations were engaging in economic development with countries like China, Taiwan, Vietnam, and even Russia, now the world is preparing for war. Putin is even threatening to use nuclear weapons, and he may be that dumb if he becomes desperate and backed into a corner.
Where we as a race were running "to and fro" to fuel our consumer driven society before Covid, now countries are scrambling "to and fro" to develop arsenals. And, the technology that's being developed to kill one another is staggering. We could be killed by an enemy we don't even see face-to-face if, for example, we are the victim of a drone strike or like those poor souls in Gaza whose car was bombed on the way to feed hungry people.
I was taking a look at this "second beast" from Revelation 13, who is commonly referred to as the "false prophet" in alignment with the beast under Satan's authority, and it's amazing the power that God will allow this "imposter trinity" (as Henry Halley describes them) to have:

Halley notes that this "lamb beast is afterward called the "false prophet" (Rev. 16:13, 19:20, 20:10 that is, the pretender lamb." Halley and other sources I've looked at reminded me how much the devil tries to impersonate God, and Jesus warns about this in His Olivet prophecy as well. This second beast has "two horns like a lamb" but speaks like a dragon. While he may appear religious and "good", this beast is clearly exposed to Christians by the doctrine of Satan that will spew from his mouth.
It's amazing that the false prophet "even makes fire come down from heaven." That's been a power that only God Himself has used sparingly in the past (e.g. Sodom and Gomorra, and Elizah calling down fire from heaven on the followers of Baal). Making "an image to the beast" is idolatrous, so this imposter will not fool the elect. Thankfully, this false trinity will only be in power for a short time before Jesus crushes it at His triumphant return.

Do you think the speaking as a dragon but looking like a lamb is telling us of a massive distortion of Christian doctrine ? Claiming to be of Christ the lamb but the words don’t match the words sound like satans ?

Satan quotes from Psalm 91 but takes these verses out of context to tempt Jesus, who would have none of it.
The false prophet ("distortion of Christian doctrine" taken to the next level with this joker) reminds me of the first of the four horsemen of the apocalypse described in Revelation 6:

This is false religion. Note the white horse like Jesus will ride on when He returns (Rev. 19: 11-16), but Jesus will have "many crowns" and unlike the bow from the false Christ, the real Christ will have a "sharp sword that with it He should strike the nations" (v. 15).
Distortion of the gospel and true Christian doctrine has been around since the early Church, and it will be brought to climactic levels by the "imposter trinity" during the tribulation.

Read the identifying marks of the first beast, and use Daniel, Rev, and history to identify it.

1. The beast rose up out of the sea,
Rev 17:15 And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.
Daniel 7 reveals the answers for the next symbols... Compare Scripture with Scripture. The books of Daniel and Revelation explain each other. They fit together like a hand and glove.
2. And the beast was like unto a leopard, and his feet were as the feet of a bear, and his mouth as the mouth of a lion: and the dragon gave him his power, and his seat, and great authority.
Daniel 7:2, 3: “Daniel spake and said, I saw in my vision by night, and, behold, the four winds of the heaven strove upon the great sea. And four great beasts came up from the sea, diverse one from another.”
The 4 beasts of Dan 7 symbolicly make up this power.
3. It had seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.
“And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise.” Please notice that this is God’s interpretation of the ten horns on this animal in Dan 7. Rome would be divided into ten distinct areas. history shows this is what happened.
The little horn of Dan 7 is the same as the first beast of Rev. They are identified by much the same symbols.
The papacy came to power at exactly this time.
4. And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
The papacy ruled for 42 months, 1260 day, and they changed many of the bible teachings. Came to power in 538 and lost power in 1798.
5. And I saw one of his heads as it were wounded to death;
The papacy recieved a deadly wound but not killed when Nepolian took the pope captive in 1798
6. His deadly wound was healed:
It was in the year 1929 that Mussolini executed the Concordat of 1929 with the Pope, restoring the properties that had been taken away from the Church. At that time, the Pope was actually made king once more, and the Vatican City was set up as a political sovereign power.

Just look at the pope today... the whole world bows down to him.

The beast from the sea is the Israeli government and it's kingdom.
The second beast is the united states armed forces which will be given to Israel to keep it safe.(After Trump is reelected.)
The mark of the beast is probably a microchip given to everyone in Israel except the elect who refuse it.

The brutality of the October 7th attacks are hard for the rational mind to comprehend, and that fruitcake leader of Hamas who brushed off the death of his children as martyrs illustrates the brainwashing by Satan that happens when we aren't tied to true religion through the power of the Holy Spirit and theology grounded in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

I read a book of a respected Christian minister who believes Christ's return may not happen for hundreds or perhaps thousands of years. I sure hope he's wrong, and I would prefer Jesus to return ASAP to help us clean up the mess we've created on this beautiful planet He blessed us to live on.

Hey brother--I may be sparse in our ChristianChat community the next couple of weeks or so because one of my professor friends asked me to proofread a book he has been working on for years related to T.S. Eliot's famous poem "The Wasteland". One of his focuses ties into one of my favorite stories in the Bible, "The Road to Emmaus" in Luke 24: 13-35. I can't wait to dive into this brilliant Shakespearian scholar's work in the days ahead!
