"have you ever noticed how many Christian’s reject what Jesus said in the gospel and disagree and preach a different message from the lord ? Not just different but actually requiring you to not believe what he said about the matter. And instead believing what they explain to you"

Don't we all do this from time to time? Yeah.. I have.

May I ask in love, kindness and respect but are not you doing this very same thing? In love.. if I post a verse I never touch it as in with caps or bigger fonts. Oh I really do want to sometimes but.. that's it right there huh. Well if I have to touch it so others see what I want them to see, what stands out to me. Well then that's all it is. Its me not Him for I am getting in His way. See I learned if that blade is indeed sharper then any two edged sword then I never have to cut hard or force it. If He wants to say something to someone He will.

Its why I try to say "for me" or "what I believe" so others know I am not telling them what GODs word really says. Other then say things like John 3:16 Rom 10:9-10.. Jesus is the only way.

I have a friend who is going through a painful divorce and has hooked up with a much younger lady. He described this new relationship as a ride the Holy Spirit is taking him on.

I'm not so sure about that (case study for the classic "mid-life crisis" for sure). I'm afraid this ride may crash into a brick wall eventually, especially when they are going out partying together until the "wee hours of the morning."

I'm all for being led by the Spirit. For me, I temper everything by referring back to God's Word, the Holy Bible, in case my emotions and intuition are off track and leading me down the wrong path.
Exactly where Im Coming from

“Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.”
‭‭1 John‬ ‭4:1‬ ‭

Personally I believe the apostles language comes from the gospel so to follow the spirit

It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.”
‭‭John‬ ‭6:63‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I Beiieve from that comes this

“if so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus: that ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts; ( repent ) and be renewed in the spirit of your mind; ( believe the gospel ) and that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4:21-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

These folks had already heard the teachings of Christ in the gospel without hearing and believing the gospel ( the things Jesus actually taught , I don’t believe we’re going to ever recognize and receive the spirit

Sure we do children sometimes have the wrong idea about things ….until they hear the words of thier father and repent . It’s like life brother you learn as you go but as you learn you can’t reject the fathers Will and words teaching us life everlasting

we’re all wrong to begin with the gospel is how we get right. But we can’t keep rejecting the things he said is the thing

how does one be called to change ? To repentance if they aren’t wrong to begin with ? Of course we’re all on the same sinking boat , this post is about considering how to get out of the sinking ship .

How to know the truth

It’s not by rejecting the things our Lord taught believers but sounds more like this contrary approach

“Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

the point is when people are rejecting the things he taught and teaching other things it’s working against what he’s trying to teach believers

we can learn the truth from Jesus but not if we let people reject it and teach us other things

simple post really , as Christian’s we should make sure we know what Christ taught and not reject what he taught

The only way we can have liberty in our walk with God is by the truth of his word and to do this we must ..............
2 Timothy 2:14
"Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman. that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the. word of truth."

Not leaning on our own understanding but by the guidance the Spirit.
John 16:13
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.

To know God is to trust in his truth fully. Believing in all his truths, not of man's private interpretation nor man's theology!
We must move from the indoctrination we have received of in man's churches and become the bride of Christ, keeping our lamps filled with the anointing oil of the Spirit and our hearts unspotted from the world.

So according to scripture which is truth:
1. God is absolutely numerically one inseparable being strictly monotheistic God or
2. God is 3 separate persons but still one God

Keep this scripture in mind and study every word.

Hebrews 1:3
“Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;”

Long-time believer here by the study of the word. Salvation is of God! Do not become stagnant or stumped in your walk by focusing on only one thought ! Have read you many posts.
There is only one God, creator of all.

Many don’t heed the Scripture that states; 1 Jn 4- “Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
