What is the good news in Isaiah 40?

It is God’s people. “Comfort ye My people.” God’s people today who understand the truth of God’s Word are the chosen generation described in 1 Peter 2:9-10. We are the generation who are living in the time of the parable of the fig tree, the final generation.

Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD'S hand double for all her sins. The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Isaiah 40:1-3

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light… 1 Peter 2:9

Understand, from the Book of Revelation, that we are to beware of those who say they are Jews but are not, rather they are a synagogue of Satan.

Only those who praise God in spirit and in truth may be called a true Jew for Jew, from Yahuddah, means literally Praiseing God. See the story of Leah when she named her male child Judah.

I know the story, after she gave birth to Judah and named him, she then said she would praise the lord.

So does Judah actually mean praise the lord.

9 O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!

10 Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.

11 He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.

The good news is synonymous with the gospel. Is there any other gospel for us besides the fact that Jesus died on the cross and resurrected?
Why does Isaiah 40:9 command to proclaim the good news to Zion and Jerusalem, and then say, 'Behold your God'? and What cities do the cities of Judah refer to?
Why are they instructed to proclaim the good news, the gospel, to the cities of Judah?


God reveals Himself in a chosen generation.

The Most High is with us in THIS Generation to testify His Son and to demonstrate His righteousness.

1Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;


I believe that the contents of the Old Testament prophecies are fulfilled in this generation, the one Jesus referred to, in which we currently live. I also believe that God teaches us the truth directly in this generation. It might seem like a kind of time reversal, but it is a fact.

Look at the Almighty! It's His concept of time, where anything is possible. Then, what is the evidence that our generation is the chosen one? The Bible mentions generations very frequently. From all the prophecies of the Old Testament to the words of Jesus in the New Testament, they all point to One chosen generation in which everything will be fulfilled.

This is when it’s beginning to be fulfilled

John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.( the voice of one crying in tbe wilderness )

And it came to pass in those days, that ( and the glory of the lord shall be revealed ) Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee, and was baptized of John in Jordan. And straightway coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens opened, and the Spirit like a dove descending upon him: and there came a voice from heaven, saying, Thou art my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

then Jesus preached the gospel the word of God that stands forever

“The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”

that eternal word it’s referencing is Jesus preaching the gospel

“Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.”

The prophets were foretelling the time of Jesus generation

“and he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you: whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. ….Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days.”

The prophets of the ot were foretelling Jesus coming to earth our God manifest in the flesh

The nt prophecies are what we’re looking for the return the second time of Christ to earth there are two testaments each deals with that time period

isaiah 40 is about John and Jesus arriving and Jesus preaching the one and only gospel and fulfilling the good shepherd part of the prophecy ……the things foretold in the New Testament are what we should look to those ot prophecies tech us about Christ and the gospel

Yes the Jewish religion is desolate they have not sanctuary they rejected Jesus who is the sanctuary

abut they were blinded by thier rebellion which brought the law of Moses which is the entire basis for Judaism

Jews trust in the letter of Moses law not understanding this part

When Jesus is quoting from Moses law and then he says the opposite thing israel couldn’t hear it because they were trusting in Moses law and were blinded to Christ and the word of God they had no room for Jesus words

ever notice how the keepers ofnthe law were always trying to trap Jesus on his words and always plotting to kill him ? It’s because he was instructing the opposite of the law

I saw a reading from a messianic Jew he said the Jewish bible
speaks of Messiah coming that is of the peaceful type and also the type of ruling with Justice type to.

Have the Jews failed to spot that,

As far as I know they only see the coming as ruling with Justice as being valid or that all prophecies must be completed for the Messiah to be seen as the Messiah

It makes no sense to believe he could only come once.

With God all things are possible,

I try to put myself in the head of Jew but I just fail to see why they cant see the Messiah in spirit speaking through there prophets.

The thing I don't believe in personaly is a rapture.

Simply put the lord speaks to all differently.

Same as the 7 thunders John heard but was told not to write them down.

I believe John was told not to write them down, but may well have been told to prophesize against them, I wonder just that.

Did John prophesize the seven thunders.

I believe this one needs investigating,

Jesus said do not think I have come to bring peace,..he said I have come to bring a sword 😊

Now you should be glad he came to bring a sword, .because that means we have a chance to be saved.

The cross is the sword and the word is the the sword that Pearce's all souls,.be it Jew gentile be it who ever.

His sword is in the new testament the old testament and even the quran.

This means the sword is the new covenant for all.

It also means everyone will be pierced by his sword.

The word that penetrates the soul.

There for we are in great tribulation and under the covenant of the sword

I’ve done some investigating. Here are my deductions and ponderings (selah says)

There is no record of what those seven thunders spoke, so we cannot know. The entire cycle of all the end-time events will be covered by the seven thunders. In other words, the angel is proclaiming the end of this age of earth: It is finished and over! View attachment 260311

The lightning (Satan at the 6th trump) will come before the thunder (Jesus at the 7th trump). The thunders are sealed for this reason. You will have already experienced the lightening—it will be history by the time the thunder sounds. So we must not be deceived! There won’t be any pretrib rapture. Jesus tells us:
