"Excuse me sir. I have a question."
"Aye lass?"
"Is it true that nothing is worn under your kilt?"
"I dinna know who told ye lassie, but 'tis the truth. Everything down there is in perfect working order."
Just a word to the wise gentleman, don't stand over any metal grates o_O

My favorite part is the pom-poms on the boots! 😬
I noticed those, too! .:D

@Eli1 Many of the Morris dancers don't wear kilts, though the ones I saw that do wear some type of skirt
also paint their faces and have all manner of outre dress...and not mostly white like regular Morris dancers.

:D We need a historian here to figure out the pom-poms on the boots since they originate around 5BC from my ancestors called Illyrians. But the origin of the dress, first comes from Spartan uniforms which looked like this:

Then the Romans copied it and it looked like this:

As time went by and weapons changed, then the skirt became more of a way to honor our ancestors and it turned into a ceremonial thing:

There's no telling what people might get up to at a wedding, and over the years I have seen plenty of memorable pictures. One was the groom's kilt-clad wedding party facing away from the camera, bent forward, kilts flipped up... with the groom's surname emblazzoned across their bare buttocks. So memorable, in fact, that I still recall the name!!!
Are you sure that's ALL you remember? LOL....

I would not have worded it like this, but since this is a Christian, public site, I’d say something along the lines of talk the talk and walk the walk
In other words, you'd just say you were from Missouri.... the "show me" state.....:ROFL:

Now that you mention it... I do recall that there was one guy who had two letters on his derriere .

The groom's men (including groom) must have numbered six, and it was a seven-letter name .:LOL::ROFL::LOL:

I can just see it now... "Sorry Stan, but you obviously have, um, the bigger whiteboard of a backside here, so you're gonna get TWO letters slapped on there..."

Argh!
But she wasn't asking about the functionality of the plumbing, she was asking if it was properly covered. 😳🤨😵
I love the differences in thinking here.

The man automatically assumes the woman wants to know about functionality and reassures here that "everything is in perfect working order."

The woman didn't ask a single thing about whether it worked or not.

The woman asked if it would be COVERED UP (presumably so it wouldn't have to be seen.)

For times when regular skirts won't do, I finally ordered my first real kilt from USA Kilts, semi traditional in steward black modern. plan to use it for square dance, occasionally at church and possibly Scottish county dancing, pretty much anything requiring something a touch more formal. Any other kilt wearers here?
Great pictures, thanks so much for sharing!

I love the thought of you telling naysayers and doubters, "I beg your pardon, gentlemen, but this is no ORDINARY skirt."

Huzzah! (y)
