Earthquake update...
According to Okie meteorologist we've now had, "about 19 total earthquakes. From last night to this Saturday morning."

California? Nooooo. Never even been near that state.
Oklahoma, the Osage Reservation area. So, eastern Oklahoma...west Tennessee...we aren't too terribly far apart.
We have a lot of earthquakes here due to fracking. Actually, we were surpassing Cali for a while and even sparked the interest of scientist who came here and studied the situation and told us to stop fracking.
You know, I thought that the earthquake responses to the fracking would stop after they quit doing it. I believe it was stopped about 20 years ago. Talk about long lasting erroneous results!

Fracking still goes on here (tribal lands are different though, about half the state is under control of the state and the other half is tribal lands and therefor under the jurisdiction of the government).
A seismologist here says that "findings suggest the effects of wastewater disposal can persist for years after injection rates slow or stop, as pressure from the wastewater continues to spread belowground and rupture ancient faults."

It'll be interesting to see what happens as time progresses.

Perhaps you would already know this. Fill me in if you do.

The most powerful earthquake ever in the contiguous US. was epic epicentered near New Madrid, Mo. It actually caused churchbells in Boston Mass. to sound I suspect though a ways from it, all faulting is connected, so I hope it does not cause some kind of isostatic compensation of the stratigraphy. I could but that is probably a long shot.

Can you answer this one? "Gramma's a wishin they all come out to the kitchen, and help do the dishes by and by:

Now the question is, how does she try to coax them to come, just the first few words cause I am not curtain of all the rest.

When you live in the country everybody is your neighbor
On this one thing you can rely
They'll all come to see you and never, never leave you
Sayin', "Y'all come to see us by and by"

[Chorus]
Y'all come (Y'all come), y'all come (y'all come)
Oh, y'all come see us when you can
Y'all come (Y'all come), y'all come (y'all come)
Oh, y'all come see us now and then

[Verse 2]
Kinfolks are comin', comin' by the dozen
Eatin' everything from soup to hay, hay, hay
And right after dinner they ain't lookin' any thinner
And here's what you'll hear them say

[Chorus]

[Verse 3]
Oh, old grandma's a wishin' they'd come out to the kitchen
And help do the dishes right away
Ah, but they all start leavin', even though she's grievin'
You can still hear grandma say

[Chorus]

I don't think Grandma ever got help with the dishes, but she still wants the folks to come back. :)

George Jones, i believe, but @Lynx will know for sure.

Never heard that song in my life.

Usually it's me or Aunt Diane who does the dishes after a family dinner.

I've heard of the New Madrid earthquake. There isn't a real high chance it will happen again any time soon, but there's always a chance. The United States Geological Survey estimates that there is up to 10% chance of another New Madrid earthquake happening in the next 50 years with a magnitude of 7.0 or more.

It's not so bad here. Actually, the wind is what is bad here. It makes the temperatures worse and it causes problems. Just a week or two ago, a school had to close due to power outage from all the wind. I'm an Okie from generations of Okies and I think this state is great in many ways, but the weather isn't one of them. In recent years I've been spending a lot of time in Georgia and when I'm there I think about how wonderful the weather is compared to Oklahoma.

Snowy here today. And cold. Brrr.

Also, the Oklahoma seismologist says that us Okies should expect aftershocks through the week from the earthquakes. Yay! :geek:
