But I don't think Trump is trying to divide, he recently set up a mass rally at Madison Square Garden in NYC. That is a step towards unifying the whole country behind his candidacy. You can find youtube videos of Blacks, Hispanics, and young people all saying they are for Trump, we also see this from inner city in both NYC and Chicago. Even BLM founders support him. He is the great unifier.

I think this verse is easy to understand.

Yep, that is how I understand spitting in someone’s face. And that is just 2 chapters later in Mark.

Yep, Mark seems really clear on how we would understand someone spitting in our face.

But this story by John and Mark seems really strange. I went to a number of commentaries and in every case they dodged the issue of spitting in the face being a very big insult. So then, let’s take a look at this chapter to see if the context helps at all.
