Salvation: 1st, what is it and were you truly saved to start with and if so, saved from what?

Salvation is initially being saved from the sins you've committed, not those you may commit in the future.

How are you saved according to scripture?

When you put ALL pertinent scriptures together to find out what they all say on the subject of being saved, you end up with tge following short list of requirements.
1. Belief and faith in Jesus Christ
2. Confession of your belief as did the Ethiopian eunuch as recorded in Acts 8
3. Repentance as was told to the Jews on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2 verse 38; sorrow for your sins and a commitment to turn from them
4. Baptism into Christ (water immersion) for the forgiveness of your sins (Acts 2:38)

If you've done the above you were saved.

Can you lose your salvation? Yes, as described in scripture such as the Hebrew letter. They were cautioned to not renounce Christ and turn back to their old beliefs. If one does this, the bible says it's impossible to renew such a person unto repentance, Hebrews 6:6

"If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame."

Unless you've renounced Christ and were in fact once saved, you can simply repent of your sins and Christ's blood will continue to cleanse you. 1 John 1:9
I have done all these things, I haven't renounced Christ but I walked in sin for a season after thinking I was condemned.

Hi. I am wondering if anyone has any help, I have worried in case I have lost salvation with Jesus.
Is there a point where someone could be unable to repent and turn back to Jesus after rebelling and sinning for a season?
There are many scriptures warning of falling away from Christ and turning from Him.
2 Peter 2:20-22 and lots more scripture worry me.
This one should put you at ease..

1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

Give your sins to Jesus. Ask Him to give you a new heart and to make your will in harmony with His. Ask Him to give you the strength to overcome your sins and ask Him to show you any unrevealed sins, so you can repent of those and ask for His sanctification, mercy and grace.

Jesus has more mercy than we have sin. It;’s when we stop trying to overcome our sins through Jesus that it gets dangerous. Pray to God ask for forgiveness and ask Him for more love and faith and ask Him to replace your will with His, but listen to that small still voice when He leads you out of the wide path into the narrow path. God bless!

This is a great site yet not the best place to ask about Salvation. Well I didn't read the post but you will hear or read how Christ has died for all your sins vs Christ only died for past sins. Both can be right. Since your asking about losing your salvation that is not something God would have ever said to you. Well does it bring doubt worry fear? He never uses those.

Its so simple to get back on the path. 1st you have no thing what so ever to worry about. See those that hear know for a fact that Christ came died for their sin yet fully reject that and then willingly sin. There is no sacrifice. There is nothing no hope. We all at some point time and time again willingly sinned the difference is we repent and we mean it. We are truly sorry and we don't stay in that sin. So repent of what you did or doing stop it...get up dust off keep going. We all do this. There is 10 sins are worse then one sin. No any sin God hates.

Tell Him put me back on the right path and He will. Repent get up dust off keep going and KNOW if you confess your sins He is faithful and just to forgive you and cleans you from "all" not some but all unrighteousness. You are righteous not because you never sin but you are righteous in right standing with God because you believe in Christ Jesus. So if you don't have one find a good word Church a Church that believes all of His word. Know not guess not wonder know He is for you never against you. He no matter what you do He will never leave you. Get this next part. He sees everything you did and loves you does not condemn you says "that's why I died". So now the hard part forgive your self. This is not the only time these thoughts will try to pop up. But understand what love is 1st Cor 13 and what the fruit of the spirit is. He does not use fear worry doubt. Its always faith. No matter what you see hear or feel know He loves you is for you is helping you.. He never leaves. In your weakest moment He is holding you.

After this is all over you will wonder how did I miss this.. He has always been there always my best friend. NO one loves me like He does. BJ Thomas "hes my best friend. Didn't always know it"

God never uses doubt worry fear? I think that just blew my mind. I don't know why I've never realised this.

Thank you, please pray I will know His voice. I will meditate on 1 John 1:9. I've been listening to the enemy too much I think.

The enemy wants us to believe we are saved in our sins, but Jesus came to save us from sin Mat 1:21 Sin is the transgression of God's law 1 John 3:4, Romans 7:7 Mat 5:19-30. Don't listen to anyone who says we can break God's law, which is essentially telling you to sin. Jesus wants to free us of sin, which is why the Ten Commandments are called the law of liberty. James 2:10-12. Jesus understands our weakness, He walked this earth and was tempted just like we are. Hebrews 4:15 but through Jesus all things are possible including overcoming temptation and sin. Pray daily to Jesus, He loves us so much and wants nothing more than free us from that bondage and He will help us along the way, it just requires our cooperation. John 14:15-18

Here are two short videos that will give you the tools though scripture to help us overcome...

A broken and contrite spirit God will not reject.Ps 34:18 and Ps. 51:17

If you believe God's promises and turn back to Jesus, you obviously can turn back to Jesus. If you are worried that you have become unable to believe God's promises and turn back to Jesus, just doing it will prove your feelings wrong.

dear one, you remind me of a bruised reed. remember what the scriptures say about that?

A bruised reed He will not break and a smoldering wick He will not extinguish; He will faithfully bring forth justice. (Is 42:3)

But now thus saith the LORD that created thee, O Jacob, and he that formed thee, O Israel, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.

When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
(Is 43:1-2)

i believe waters, rivers and fire are a kind of metaphor for the troubles of life. God is with us, still.

Many waters cannot quench love, Nor will rivers overflow it (SoS 8:7)

Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or distress or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written:

“For Your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.”

No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor principalities, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(Rom 8:35-39)

i have prayed for you. i beseech you, run to the Lord Jesus. He won't reject you. He won't fail you.

"I will never leave you nor forsake you."

did you trust Him to save you or did you trust yourself to be good enough to be saved?? :p

sister, never be afraid to turn to Him;
always believe. He knows, and He loves you

to save you is why He called you - to do the parts you can't do :)

You are reading this text out of context and are drawing a wrong conclusion. Paul is speaking about his desire to move on from teaching basic milk of repentance etc. to teaching meat. He then puts aside the idea of teaching the basics again because doing so would not be of use where his audience have already heard the basics, if any have rejected the basics, because Paul cannot nring such people to repentance by mote teaching. He does not exclude God fom bring the person around though.

And you are not reading it correctly at all. Paul didn't write Hebrews to himself, he wrote it to tge newly converted Hebrews addressing their issues not his. And there obviously was a danger of backsliding and returning to their old ways and beliefs and thus denying Christ. Read the letter in it's entirety and read it carefully.
