Most think once saved forever saved but that is where we get it wrong. Salvation is a daily activity and process to know more of and about God. One problem of the today christian is that we are mostly relaxed not until we find ourselves in problem

There is standing and state.

Salvation …being born again with the seed of God is permanent…. That is your standingit never fluctuates.

Your condition or fellowship with your heavenly Father … is dependent upon your walk. ...And our walk is just doing Gods will, believing His Word. That is your state…..It's being in fellowship, walking His Word … or out of fellowship not believing and not walking in light of the Word…. It does not affect your standing. You are always and forever a son or daughter of the most High.

We will mess up from time to time ….but we have an advocate with the Father 1John 2:1 …and when we do mess up, we just thank God for forgiveness and keep moving.... never dwelling on our mistakes or condemning ourself.

Rom 8:1 There is therefore now no condemnation (down judgment from God) to them which are in Christ Jesus. who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

(The crossed-out words are omitted in all critical Greek text …. > they are in verse 8:4)

8:1 is talking about our standing being > IN CHRIST JESUS …”salvation”.

8:4 is talking about state …our walk

Rom 8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

Scriptures on salvation

1Pe 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Eph 1:13…in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Eph 4:30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

2Co 1:22 Who hath also sealed us, and given the earnest (token) of the Spirit in our hearts.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Hi Sis. Not going get into the never ending debate on this. For me in all this here is just for me. It does seem some are trying to workout others salvation for them. Salvation a daily activity I can agree I like that. There are things that stand out to me in my small time on this blue ball. The world not one person knows how much He loves them. Then that grace...just thinking makes me cry. No matter how many times you fall miss it give up walk away. He is not man He never stops He never gives up that grace which you think you pushed as far as you can.. He keeps showing you more and more. No one since Adam would still be there to help yet.......haha PRAISE GOD... what are the odds well I was going to say '"be there to help HE IS". The song playing? "HE IS" by Aaron Jeoffrey. What are the odds! Its like the time me and my wife were driving to the store and talking about some problem so i said "lets put it in his hands". The song started to play said "put it in his hands". I LOVE LOVE music.. just LOVE it. So its one way HE haha talks.

We look at this through the natural not the spirit not supernatural. We see that one moment we goof up we lost it we walked away. Yet there is no time with God. There is no past no future its always now. That gift.... oh how do we not just stop there and get lost. Not something I can lose I can drop or misplace. Its not based on something I do or don't do it was a gift of God to all who will believe. How can I lose that new man which after God was created in righteousness and true holiness? How can I undo that new man which God made new? Sin has that kind of power? Do I have that kind of power? I have been saved I am a citizen of Heaven. There is nothing for me to do to make salvation stick so to speak. I now grow and grow and learn and shine and give away what He freely gave to me. I stumble fall miss it I just get up dust off keep going. Its not just a simple chose. That sinner knows God is knocking on their heart and they answer. its not "well I don't wanna burn so.. sure why not Jesus was real". <---not a wise road to walk.

You know its not my job to keep watch on the Shepherd. No my job as a sheep if your any kind of a farmer you know its my job to find a hole in that fence :) Really? Do we really believe that shepherd (GOD) would come back empty handed? So I just shared and oh SO blessed my self .. then the lord with the songs.. WOW I bow and so humbled.. thank you Father

No one should confuse JUSTIFICATION (a one-time act of God's grace) with SANCTIFICATION (living out the Christian life daily). So it is sanctification which is a process. However justification is not a process. Read and study Romans chapter 4. If you want to know how God can be just and yet justify the ungodly, study the epistle to the Romans.

If you are referring to how sinners respond to the Gospel, it is obvious that you neither understand the power of the Gospel, nor the power of the Holy Spirit. All you understand is the false gospel of TULIP.

It is a good question, we should ask often
.
The first thing to establish is, "what do we need salvation from"
Sin
Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death;
Death comes to all that sin.
Justice requires it. Sin is like a cancer and needs to be eliminated.

We are infected with sin.
Like a disease we are destined to die.
Eternal death...

Rom 6:23 .....
but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Jesus gives us Eternal life as a gift.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:

But how can God be just, (not break the law that sin =death) and gracious (give us forgiveness) at the same time.

The plan of salvation was that Jesus becomes a Man (second Adam) and defeats the devil, claims victory over sin and pays the price for sinning (death).

When our case is being judged we can stand before the judge fully covered in the righteousness of Jesus (perfection) or stand in our own righteousness. If we have one sin we will be lost.

We need to trust and believe and walk in Jesus.

Rom 8:1-2
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

Hi and Welcome, @Thistily :) My understanding: Those of the elect or those who have received Christ by their own free will are saved eternally—forEVER.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me: And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

The Bible speaks about our salvation in the past, present, and future tense, so we have been saved from the penalty of our sins (Ephesians 2:5), we are being saved from continuing to live in sin (Philippians 2:12), and we will be saved from God's wrath on the day of the Lord. Our salvation from sin would be incomplete if we were only saved from the penalty of our sins, so in accordance with what you said, there must also be an aspect of our salvation that is happening in the present that is a daily activity and process that is the experience of knowing God. Our salvation is from sin (Matthew 1:21) and sin is the transgression of God's law (1 John 3:4), so while we do not earn our salvation as the result of being required to have first obeyed God's law, the experience of living in obedience to it is intrinsically the content of God's gift of saving us from not living in obedience to it.

You and I have been back and forth for years now so I don’t necessarily respond for you but to those who haven’t been completely hardened.

Once again, your double mindedness is revealed. Which is it, the power of God or the power of man’s response?

Let me ask it this way, does your all powerful god accompany every gospel presentation yet is overpowered by those who reject it?

Satan always teaches man is able to do the impossible, that he has the power within to choose his destiny. Islam, Hinduism, Satanism… and all false Christianity give us this antichrist message, they all cling to man’s ability.

Truth is, the entire cannon teaches man is hopeless without the power of God. That faith is a gift so that no man may boast. That even repentance is granted that man may turn.

It is God who saves, not man, nothing in our hands we bring. The Power of God opens the ears of some, while the gospel rings.

All glory to God.

I have one question, if you come back.
Is the information below somewhat accurate in your view?

Also, are there a lot of 'Cultural Christians' or 'Christians by Tradition' in your country?

Thanks.

This is just LAUGHABLE. After all this time you still don't know the basics of salvation. And to insult another Christian by calling God "your all powerful god" (used for false gods) shows the contempt that Calvinists have for other Christians. Calvinists are just another cult.

Salvation means being saved - that is easy! But saved from what? Saved from the power and control of sin and of the Devil. Salvation is not just about getting to heaven and being there forever: salvation also means being saved today from the power and control of sin.

"Once saved always saved" focuses on the part of getting to heaven, but misses the importance of the power of Jesus to save from the control of sin today and in this life.

Amen.
You may want to be careful, though, for those believing they can lose their salvation will discover there's many on CC that are as prickly about it as your name suggests.

Agreed. I see several different types of salvation in the Bible.

Since Evangelists made "going to heaven" the primary endeavor of the Christian life, vs representing God in the earth as His children, then confusion about other salvations entered in. Perhaps blindness is more appropriate than confusion.
