North Korea? Really. The evil are obviously stealing from the children of God. They do that here in America too believe it or not. We are just a lot more blessed bc our country was founded on biblical principles and nations like this are blessed.

You still mention nothing about Jesus receiving caravans of gold. I wonder why? 3 kings or 3 wise men close to the kings would no doubt have a ton of wealth.

I don't understand why Christians want Jesus to be poor. The manger was symbolic for him being the lamb of God. They had money for an inn... they had no room.

When Jesus says he had no place to lay his head... that's because he was essentially acting as a missionary. All he's saying is they are on the road a lot. If he was some poor guy he wouldn't even need to explain that. They had a money bag. He was invited to weddings. It even says he was rich.

"Though He was rich, for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich."

Obviously referring to when he died on the cross he become poor. They even divided his garments among the soldiers bc they were worth money.

The love of money is the root of all evil. We already know that bc people can get rich by biblical principles, but not having morals. That's why the love of money is the root of all evil. It's not saying money is evil.

God said "the gold of that land is good." Gen 2:12

God literally calls gold good and yet Christians still try to say "no no God meant spiritually blessed, not in regards to riches." Pretty sure he said gold was good.

Then we know how rich Solomon and Abraham were but people still say Jesus was poor. As if Jesus didn't understand biblical principles of wealth. He was given wealth, earned it through carpentry, and then became a teacher where rich people followed him.

Yet he didn't tell all the rich people to go away bc they're rich and therfore must love money and be evil.
Your understanding of biblical discourse, in my opinion, comes from the secular world, You should read the Bible carefully and keep your thoughts away from this noisy world, where the noise is filled with curses of hatred. Don't judge a country in the name of God, neither you nor I have the qualifications.

Some people may have fallen into a strange logical way of thinking.
God makes those who believe in him rich in material wealth,It's not to make you only see material wealth, What you should see is they obedience to the word of God.

A covenant in the Bible is the deepest truth or promise provided. It's impossible for God to break it.... and it has nothing to do with you. It has to do with him making the promise and the fact that God can't lie. If he lies, he dies and so do we.

Here it is:
Gen. 12:2
I will make you you into a great nation, and I will bless you.
I will make your name great, and you will be a blessing.
I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse. And all people on earth will be blessed through you.

Later... Abraham lies and says Sarah is his sister. Despite this, he continues going to God and is blessed. It's an obligation God has to fulfill because of his own words.

Gen. 13:2 Abraham had become very wealthy in livestock, silver, and gold.

Do you understand that abundance belongs to the children of God yet?

Replace Abraham with Jesus. Of course Jesus was also rich. A caravan of camels sent by 3 kings of gold was given to him! God made this promise to Abraham and God doesn't change! Now do you understand why king Herod was so mad about another king being born and set to overthrow him?

How does the Abrahamic covenant apply to you?
most definitely ... all wealth and power belongs to the seed of Abraham. Christ is that seed, I am in Christ.

poverty is a curse.

Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness and all these things shall be added unto you.

Spiritual poverty is a curse. Spiritual wealth looks past this creation to the Creator.
What we spend our time considering is a mirror of what our heart consists in. People tell on themselves more than they know.

"I know Abraham that he will teach his children after him....."

The Abrahamic covenant instituted FAMILY, "by you will the families of the earth bless themselves" God would not institute marriage and family if He did not intend to make abundant provision. for them

poverty is a curse.
“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. a

For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.”
‭‭1 Timothy‬ ‭6:6-12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace; and labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭4:11-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In the Old Testament money was a sign of blessing but in the nt money and possessions can easily become a curse that destroys men we want treasure in heaven not so much that of earth

I wrote this a while ago but some elements of it apply here:

One of the curses of a mindset that prefers democracy over all other forms of governance is that is assumes an equality of standing before God. Yet, there is no equality of standing before God. Unique callings cannot be compared qualitatively. Everyone has a unique calling. The moment you subscribe to the view of uniqueness there is no basis for comparative analysis based on value. Because all are unique and necessary to one another, one calling cannot be dismissed for the preference of another.

The goal of U.S. law (including the Constitution), is to create a level playing field in order to establish for us a comparable standard. So, in the case of U.S. citizens and the 14th Amendment, we can insist on equal protection and due process of the law no matter our background or stature within society (now, I know this is not true practically, but it is legally unquestionable).

God solves the problem of an identity based in equality by giving to us something far above that which we could attain by our own striving: He gives us the status of son.

“We are all the sons of God by faith in Jesus Christ.”

Once you elevate man to that position, a position he cannot attain by his own strength, you’re free to deploy your son in the manner for which you created him to function. And this is anything but “equal”, because it is based upon the unique calling of the particular son.

Therefore, equality has no relevance to sonship. (This is what Philippians speaks to: “..although Jesus was by nature God, He did not consider equality with God a thing to be grasped.”)

Because, in equality, you offer this for that, with the end result of both parties remaining equal. This is called quid pro quo in law.

Establishing equality of value requires a standard. For example, if we are exchanging a sum of money for a car, two inherently disparate things, how are we to decide the value of the car vs. the money? In our culture, we will use the Kelley Blue Book. This is a fiction that both parties agree upon so that a transaction can occur with the car and the money and, at the end of the transaction, both parties remain equal. The intent of the standard, then, is to ensure that neither person gains or loses within the transaction.

The best system that an orphan can hope for is a system of equality. The orphan thinks equality is important because the orphan needs to get something from God: he needs to get salvation and/or assurance that he is going to heaven. So, the orphan needs to know from God “what do you require of me in exchange for this security?” Well, he needs a Kelley Blue Book standard. In this case, the “Blue Book” is the Law.

The Law (and the Ten Commandments) specifies the medium of exchange that makes the orphan and God equal. So that’s why Jesus did not consider equality with God a thing to be grasped, He was a son and His relationship with God was based upon something other than equality. The assurance He had was that God loved Him and that, if Jesus would prefer someone over Himself and die on their behalf, then God’s love for Him would not fail, even to the point where His life would be forfeit. I’ve written before that this depth of love is greater than the whole of the Law because the Law was meant to preserve the lives of the ones following the Law. In The Law of the Son of His Love, however, one is asked to give up his life for the sake of another. (I won’t go into this again at this time).

For us, as sons, God may treat us totally differently and be just and righteous at the same time. The son is the radiance of his Father’s glory in the manner in which the Father chooses to deploy him. That’s the uniqueness of each son and why we cannot compare, based on equality, how one son is deployed vs. another nor can we, and this is a greater part, evaluate God’s love of His sons based upon how He aligns their lives.

The son is also the exact representation of the Father in the manner in which the Father has decided to display Himself through that son. So, He may put a son in the African bush and He may put a son in Toronto and within those totally different circumstances, equip both sons based upon their needs and calling. For one, He might give an SUV that is able to traverse snow banks and ice, for the other, perhaps a bicycle is all that is needed because car repair is too costly and difficult to find. In these exchanges, between God and His sons, there is nothing about equality that sustains the relationships. The exchange is based upon representation and the unique calling of both sons and is framed in love. This is also why we should not believe, qualitatively, that we in the U.S. have advantages over people in 3rd World Countries as far as the gospel is concerned.

God solved the problem of identity by making us His sons. When You do that, You may deploy a son in any fashion that is pleasing to You. If you do not see that, you will make deals with God to offer Him something (probably the work of your own hands) so that you can hold Him accountable for your own well-being. If we are laboring to receive provision and protection from God, either for ourselves or for our nation, then we have the identity of an orphan and not a son.

Therefore, discussions about whether or not God wants us to be rich are non-starters in light of the gospel. Such statements "God wants us to be wealthy" come from those with the orphan mindset. They do not know they are a son. The very question itself hinges on a caparison that is irrelevant to those who are in Christ as sons of God. Here is the maxim: God will supply each son with what he or she needs for their life and ministry. Whether or not the supply is in the form of a BMW or a bicycle is irrelevant. "The Father loves the Son and has given all things into His hand". As sons, we may conclude that the Father, likewise, will equip sons for their works of ministry; whether by character refinement or money, each son will get what each son needs.

Peace,

Amen …..there’s also life in this world and it’s form and manners

and what comes after that he promised us

“Women received their dead raised to life again: and others were tortured, not accepting deliverance; that they might obtain a better resurrection: and others had trial of cruel mockings and scourgings, yea, moreover of bonds and imprisonment: they were stoned, they were sawn asunder, were tempted, were slain with the sword: they wandered about in sheepskins and goatskins; being destitute, afflicted, tormented; (of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭11:35-40‬ ‭KJV‬‬

These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth.

For they that say such things declare plainly that they seek a country. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.”

I'll wager 99% of western Christians have bank accounts where they seek to lay up a little treasure for themselves. A great many Christians love their money too much to GIVE too much of it.

The reason it is hard for rich people to enter the Kingdom is because they TRUST in uncertain riches.

GIVE and remember Paul who said "he that gives sparingly will also reap sparingly but he who gives bounteously will also reap bounteously for God is able to make His grace BOUND toward us that we having hving plenty for our own needs may have plenty left over for every good work" [from memory
y]

Goodness Paul was a prosperity preacher.

And so was Jesus....

Give and it shall be given unto you again, good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over will men give into your bosom for with the measure ye mete shall it be meted to you again"

Money is not prosperity per se, God's overflowing grace is prosperity.

There's a doctrine theologians have called "the IMUTABILITY" of God ... big word eh?

It means God never changes.

God fully shows what His will for man and woman as to his natural estate and his physical being by placing him in the Garden of Delight. Eden was God's will.

... all of our problems began when we rebelled against God's perfect will and turned every one to his own way.

Now God may ask us to lay aside our blessings and comforts, like Jesus laid aside His and like Paul laid aside his WHY? to make us rich,

"me and Barney are treated as off scourings while YOU [Corinthians] have already become as kings and would that you did indeed reign for then we would share the reign with you"

I've slept under bushes and bridges by the way, I washed and shaved in the River Thames ,,, I know what I'm talking
yeah brother I hear ya. But were they prosperity preachers really ? Or did they preach that God will supply our needs ?

jesus ? A prosperity preacher ….Paul prosperity ? Spiritual prosperity you mean ?

He seems to have taught this like Jesus did

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

I’m not sure I hear prosperity but rather being content with having our needs met . You can read there some had already parted from the faith because they gained financially and it brought temptations and corruption they brought themselves many sorrows by becoming prosperous in the wrong things the things of the world and not the kingdom

“Jesus answered, My kingdom is not of this world: if my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews: but now is my kingdom not from hence.”
‭‭John‬ ‭18:36‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus taught little of money he used money in parables but he’s never teaching Feb about it but to say riches can easily become an issue because it’s so important to the world money I mean

I’ve pretty much experienced poverty like 1950s West Virginia and Kentucky hollers kind of poverty shotgun housing poverty

and then decent living and at times even prospering a bit then ended up with what I need covered and not actually wanting much of anything else but more of Jesus and to get my number called to go home

Im just offering my thought brother nothing more than that . I’d say that money is definately a worldly thing and as Christian’s we should look at it as more than just our own money but opportunity to help others and spread the gospel . Again though if I had a lot of money I’m sure I might feel differently .

when you have enough but not excess it really simplifies and helps to keep the covetous thoughts away I don’t know about prosperity gospel from Jesus or Paul they seem to have taught that money is a tool we can forward the kingdom with but also can be a huge snare that can lead us where we don’t want to go But in the world we do need

I think the thing is money can be too important to us we can’t serve money we need to serve God having some money isn’t wrong or evil don’t get me wrong I’m just saying it’s a double edged sword it can be a blessing or curse like most things

I agree with you bro, perhaps more than you suppose. Money is mammon, it is the world's wealth regulatory system, a way to keep some rich and some poor. It represents worldly power. We should never ever be after money.

You know those preachers.

They are not all crooked but they have taken a wrong turn. They have gone after expansion and ministry building, organisation and they have done it at the expense of the most precious Holy Ghost power, though He doesn't wholly desert them.

Provision is when we need and ask for it, God's daily care.
Prosperity is bye and bye, the Lord will lead us into it. It is "as our soul prospereth"
But poverty is a curse.

Wherever the church has been allowed those nations in which the church is allowed prosper. A look at the map of the world is an amazing thing.

ayes I thought we had a lot of agreement to begin with just nuisances we’re discussing . Nine times out of ten I find some common ground in your thoughts

blessed are the poor …..blessed are the hungry ….

See poverty is a curse of Moses law

this wasn’t because Paul and the apostles were cursed bro

“For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles last, as it were appointed to death: for we are made a spectacle unto the world, and to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christ's sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are honourable, but we are despised. Even unto this present hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace; and labour, working with our own hands:

being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it: being defamed, we intreat: we are made as the filth of the world, and are the offscouring of all things unto this day.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭4:9-13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

In the old testsment if you kept the law you would prosper in possessions flocks land ect and if you were poor it was a sign that you were a sinner under the curses that your crops wouldn’t grow and you wouldn’t prosper ect

The new testement is the things Jesus and his apostles preached like that section from Paul there

Or like these quotes from Jesus did you notice that in the gospel the poor and broken flocked to Jesus ? But the rich and ones with a love of money and power rejected and plotted against him ?

“The Pharisees, who loved money, heard all this and were sneering at Jesus. ( because he wasn’t teaching that riches meant they were blessed and wasn’t saying the poor were cursed anymore )

He said to them, “You are the ones who justify yourselves in the eyes of others, but God knows your hearts. What people value highly is detestable in God’s sight.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:14-15‬ ‭NIV‬‬

This is binary brother

“No servant can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other;

or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other.

Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

We can’t serve God and also money they don’t belong together money is t of the kingdom of God it’s an earthly tool that we can do good or evil with we can help people or horde we can share or be greedy by good things or full temptations ect money is nothing but an earthly tool we use while we’re here

Jesus apostles were poor and homeless often hungry often persecuted hated by the world left out not popular not prosperous in the world ect

about none of them were under a curse they chose the kingdom of God over the kingdom of the world and money was no longer thier pursuit for security and hope and peace

poverty is one thing that humbles and breaks people and that’s where we can really meet Jesus in a way that’s unique

There is a whole different picture folks have not seen.

God made this world with all it's riches and resources. They belong to Him but He entrusted them to man,

The devil has usurped the man and he has usurped all the wealth that was put under the custody of man. Just look how the devil has used that wealth and those resources down the millenia.

GOOD NEWS

God has sent us a Saviour, a man, even His only begotten Son to redeem us out of the power of that wicked. He utterly crushed the serpent's head and He took back for mankind the power and dominionship of the world. He is now Lord of heaven and earth. All power and wealth belong to Him.

The devil only holds on to anything by fraud, by deception, by trickery.

Part of our commission in preaching the Lordship of Christ, the gospel, is TAKE BACK that which has been stolen. To PULL DOWN the devil's strongholds.

The wealth of planet earth is ours in Christ ... all of it. Mammon [the world's wealth system] will fail, Jesus said said we are to use mammon.

Perhaps even yet at this late stage in human history the church will catch on to the realisation that we were supposed to take back the wealth of this planet for Christ.

Actually it has been going on but oh so slowly.

Actually Jesus and the apostles were not so poor and not homeless except by their itineracy they were all businessmen ... even Jesus. And when Jesus moved from place to place a whole cluster of woman came with Him to care for His needs and He had provision.

You know that Peter was always accompanied by his wife. When Paul talked about being shipwrecked and beaten and poor etc but Corinth were not in poverty and need, Ephesus or Phillipi they were being made rich.

You say folks come to Jesus because of poverty, well I've known folks who came because their sins were so awful they were afraid, people come to Him because of sickness. Let's not therefore trump up sin, poverty and sickness as good.

And the Pharisees also, who were covetous, heard all these things: and they derided him. And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.

There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day: and there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores, and desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.

And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom:

the rich man also died, and was buried; and in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
