they have not yet committed/they have not yet atoned for?
“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,
and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.”
Acts 2:38-39 KJV
If I robbed your house when you went on vacation and you came home and found me in video and then your mercy was huge and you forgave me completely ……do I take this as I’m free to take your things and you’ll never press charges ? Because you’re merciful do I now have crate Blanche over how I treat you and your things ?
jesus came and suffered and died for our sins so that we can repent and be saved from what we already deserve according to sin
We have to stop sinning or our sins aren’t yet remitted if I come rob you every time you go somewhere I’m showing that sin is alive and well in me I’m obeying it still god isn’t telling me to rob you he said “Thou shalt not steal “ but sin in me is tempting me to rob you “ he won’t press charges even if he catches me “
but if you forgave me the first time and then I realized wow that’s really something he forgave me I won’t be stealing from him anymore …….you and I aren’t going to have any more issues because you had mercy and I repented.
jesus forgives all sin but we sometimes won’t let it go is the issue we need to let it go and stop letting sin have dominion over us that is serving the devil when we sin
If our sins are remitted they aren’t there anymore and the proof is repentance.
without repentance remission of sins doesn’t exist
“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
Luke 13:5 KJV
Paul preached that also like this
“What then? shall we sin, because we are not under the law, but under grace? God forbid!
Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey;
whether of sin unto death, ( option 1)
or of obedience unto righteousness?”( option 2)
Romans 6:15-16
if we are serving sin we’re servants of sin and will perish if we repent and turn to God were becoming servants of righteousness and the end is everlasting life
“But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”
Romans 6:22-23 KJV
God has placed before us salvstion from the sins behind us that we cannot ever change he’s forgiven those who repent and believe the gospel now they need to listen to and heed his word and come to repentance he will always keep them safe and will always forgive thier mistakes but also he’s taught us that we cannot serve satans Will and Gods Will at the same time
If were living sinful lives they aren’t yet remitted because we won’t repent we all still have issues we need to deal with no one’s perfected yet but we have to come to an understanding eithon ourselves make the decision that we aren’t going to serve sin anymore we need to come to the indersrsnding of repentance
when we do something wrong if we know repentance we will feel it in our heart and will repent and learn nOt to keep doing it . It doesn’t mean we’re perfect and beyond making mistakes but when we sin as Christian’s we should feel it because n our heart and soul because it will cause repentance
“For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.”
2 Corinthians 7:10 KJV
If do something wrong I can feel it and regret it this will cause me to repent and stop doing it . If I do something wrong and say “ well no big deal I’m forgiven “ we’ll never get to the repentance part
