No Im not from Thailand. Im an American. I moved here from Yuma Arizona 4 months ago. Im retired, my Wife is Thai. This picture is not of good quality. Its 20 rie and only 3 Rie is flat. We grow Bananas, Coconuts, Mangos and Durian. Its a Wonderful Place. Quiet Coffee Time With Jesus every morning. We are in Fang Min, Nan province. Where are you?

I have a Funny story. I think its Funny. On Oct 27th. My wife and I went to our House in Wiangsa, because the 28th is a Big Holiday here in Nan Thailand. Ive only Been "In Country" for 4 months and I dont speak Thai Yet. We show up at our House at noon. Im unpacking and People start showing up. They are cooking all kinds of Thai Food in our Family Compound. One Friend that I know well shows up with a Baby Pig splayed out on a spit. All of the sudden my Wife comes back from the store and people are putting Tables together and Chairs around it and Food is all over. Our House in the Family Compound Is Very Large and Modern, with a large open Living Area and 4 Bedrooms and Bathrooms. My Wifes Highschool Class are very close friends, she invited them over to meet me. We are all sitting around the Table, my Wife is talking Thai to them, Then I noticed that all 10 people at the Table are Staring at me, Wide Eyed and in a State of Shock. My wife calmly turns to me and says, I told them you are 64 years old, they thought you were the same age as us 54. The room stayed quiet for 5 seconds, they are all staring at me Stunned. All of the sudden one of the Men(A Music Teacher) blurts out, in perfect English "Is He A Christian"? These people are Buddhists they dont know any Christians. He said this as if thats the only way a 64 year old man has the youth of a 54 year old man. I calmly replied "Yes, I am Protestant Christian. Jesus Died on the Cross for my Bad Karma, Sin. I now Have His Meritt on me, that is all Father God sees when He looks at me. I can not make enough Meritt, its never enough. I have Christs Meritt Forever. They were listening to every word intensely. They think I have The Fountain Of Youth. It all went over my Head till this morning during Devotional, I cracked up with Laughter at how Im so Unaware sometimes. Well The rest of that party everyone spoke English to me. We had alot of Fun.They say at the next Karaoke Party I have to sing a Song in Thai. The next day we went to the Finals of "Long Boat Drag Racing" on the Nan River about 5 ins walk from our House.

That was an awesome opportunity to plant seeds of the gospel and connect with your wife's family and friends!

I just prayed that you will continue to have more opportunities to lead them to Christ and be saved. What a mission field!

I've seen those long boats racing in a Thai martial art movie. It stared a famous actor Tony Jaa. It was in one of the Ong Bak series.
That would be an exciting race. That's cool that you have a nearby river too. Do you ever fish it?

I would guess that the $ goes further there too. Many people in USA are concerned about having enough to pay property taxes through retirement. Does Thailand charge rent / property taxes every year like they do here?

The Lord blessed me with a big back yard too. Mine is about 50 acres in West Virginia.
I might post a picture of my own some day, but have been private since I was repeatedly threatened on another forum. Here are two videos of places within an afternoon drive.
You and I both like fruit. I'd grow coconuts, bananas and mangos too if I could. Instead it's grapes, blackberries, raspberries, elderberry, blueberries, and apples.

Yes the USD is worth 35 times more here than in the States. I sold everything in the States and brought my USD here, about $10,000,000.00. I am retired from Government so my pension in Thai money is $900,000.00 a year. No the Thai Govt. doesnt charge property tax. The Farm was already owned by my Thai Wife. Everything here cost me nothing. This is where God guided me. People in the Village are seeing visions when they look towards our farm at night. They say that Beautiful Rainbow colored beings fly and Dance in the Sky over our farm. The farm was Rain Forrest Jungle and villagers would not go near it. They say many spirits lived here. They are very Happy that I am here. The Head Woman visits often.

I guess it was on my mind because I watched the news at lunchtime and they said that there have been 80% more currency "printed" in the last 3 years than in it's history. I should not focus on that since the Lord provides everything for His people. I was just reflecting on what seems like a positive step you made at a time when our country is starting to experience major changes. People of means, that I have met, are moving to West Virginia from other states for financial security in retirement. It's not even close to the positive situation you just described in Nan.

Perhaps the Lord is sending people to hear the good news of our Lord. It sounds like He has established you and your wife in an ideal position for that. I can think of no better way a Christian could enjoy retirement.

We used to hold a treat to see how long Puppy Dog could dance. It's so funny.
