How do you know that Christianity is true?

Lee, I didn’t know that you‘re dealing with medical issues and I don’t know if there’s any type of mental or physical suffering involved but Jesus also joined-in our suffering here and promised all of us who believe in Him a better place in His house in Heaven. Free from pain and suffering.

Hebrews 13:14~ This world is not our home; we are looking forward to our everlasting home in heaven.

It's been my experience that the average Christian has a tough time coming
to terms with the fact that his religion consists of psychological beliefs rather
than reasonable beliefs.

Take for example John 10:29 wherein Jesus said it's actually blessed to
believe that his crucified dead body was restored to life when there's not the
slightest empirical evidence to substantiate it.

The first thing God did after Adam and Eve's disobedience causing death was to give us Christ so we may be forgiven and live eternally. The sacrificial system was a symbol of Christ, not about the sacrifice of animals. We are told that in Isaiah, the first chapter when the Lord said he hated killing animals as a copy of the pagans killing to feed their idols. The sacrificial system was for the forgiveness of sin through the symbolic blood of Christ.

Hebrews 9:22 says, “In fact, the law requires that nearly everything be cleansed with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness .”

The Old Testament predicted the arrival of Jesus Christ.

Zechariah 9:9
Rejoice greatly, daughter of Zion!
Shout in triumph, daughter of Jerusalem!
Behold, your king is coming to you;
He is righteous and endowed with salvation,
Humble, and mounted on a donkey,
Even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

The Old Testament also predicted how we would treat Jesus Christ.

Zechariah 11:12-13
And I said to them, “If it is good in your sight, give me my wages; but if not, never mind!” So they weighed out thirty shekels of silver as my wages. Then the Lord said to me, “Throw it to the potter, that magnificent price at which I was valued by them.” So I took the thirty shekels of silver and threw them to the potter in the house of the Lord.

Jesus was betrayed by Judas for thirty shekels of silver.

The prophecies of the future messiah in the Old Testament, written centuries before Jesus arrived.
Clearly tell us that Jesus was the promised savior of the world.

The death, resurrection, and divinity of the Christ, are beyond any debate, fact.

Ask Him. Well no offense to ANYONE HERE but why ask here? You will get so many different answers. If He is so real can we not just ask Him? See the key is to ask from your heart and He will tell you See He called you.. no man did He did.. so ask Him. Trust me you can ask or say anything He can take it

christianity is a faith it’s based upon what you hear about God and life mans existsnce ect all the deep questions man asks Muslims faith is based upon thoer doctrines , Jewish faith upon thier doctrines , Buddhist faith upon thier doctrines Christianity also is based upon the things concerning Christ that happened almost two thousand years ago.

We have to hear and believe and then after we have that faith we will begin to experience the reality of God by his spirit .

But what I’m saying is Christianity is a faith it’s based upon a doctrine that took place very long time before any of us were born , there’s no way for us to empirically prove Jesus died and rose for instance but it is central to believe this is true even though you don’t have the proof it’s faith my friend the Bible teaches a faith

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, ( must believe God exists without seeing him )

and ( also ) that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.


These all died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them afar off, and were persuaded of them, and embraced them, and confessed that they were strangers and pilgrims on the earth. But now they desire a better country, that is, an heavenly: wherefore God is not ashamed to be called their God: for he hath prepared for them a city.”

We have to hear and believe there’s no other way to ever even know about Jesus dying on the cross unless we hear about it . The gospel is predominantly about what rewards come after this earth and our time here faith is not something that’s proven empirically or ot would t be faith . it is hearing what God has said and believing

“So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”

That’s the only place we can get faith to hear what Jesus was saying in the gospel and believe it but no matter nee ever going to prove it empirically it’s a faith

If you are struggling with faith pray to the lord he can strengthen you and persuade you in your heart not so much your empirical mind but that place in you that knows there’s more than what we se

I have had an interesting summer experience. I did something that nobody should ever do when speaking to God. Maybe I can not answer your question regarding the religion aspect of Christianity as a whole. But, I have a testimony. That I, experienced myself. 06/27-07/10, 2023. I was in a very dark cold place. During this time, I was alone in a room. The only thing I had left with me was a Christian book. I never really was the one to finish books, but something drew me to this book. I read, and read, and before I knew it… I finished it. I got another Christian book and then I did the same as I did for the other book. The craziest thing about this experience and why it was so different was because whenever I read the books, answers would come to me. I became skeptical and challenged God. I put Him to the test (I do not recommend you do this). But, of course I had to. My heart and mind told me to go ahead and try it. So I did.
Whatever I thought of or was going through, the next lines of the book would talk about just that. It was like God was speaking to me. Literally showing me the truth to my face within these books.
Whenever I paused, I felt nothing but joy. I’d jump around this room like a child. I was told this was the Holy Spirit. And I believe it. I believe because I was proven.
He did not have to prove anything to me. But he did. He did because he knew that I really needed him. I needed my prayers answered immediately and he granted that. All I can say now is, God is Great.

here's how to know Christianity is true:
1. become a born again Christian, that is, wholeheartedly, with body, mind, spirit, soul & conscious.
2. now that you are born again, know that the Holy Spirit is living with you, for the rest of your life.
3. the H.S. will guide you & lead you into ALL truths. (John 16:13, 14:26).
4. furthermore, read: John 14:16,17, 3:33, (especially), 1st John 2:3, 4:13, 5:10,13, & Romans 8:16.
5. ask Jesus to reveal to you the trinity (God, Jesus & H.S.)
6. pray big time on this
7. search your soul, mind, spirit & conscious to see if you are involved in anything that would obviate you from hearing Jesus. unrepentant sin may hold someone back from hearing Jesus.

Affidavits are considered as evidence. You seem to be confusing evidence with proof. If there is no evidence the accused did do it, surely his word should be taken as sufficient to acquit him . Or do you think anyone accused of anything has the burden to prove they did not?
Have you a survey to support that "the average Christian fears coming across as unreasonable people (sic)"? Or are you implying the corrollary: that the average non-Christian fears coming across as a reasonable person?

This means that you really DO NOT KNOW what the Bible says.

Had you seriously taken all four Gospel accounts for what they are -- God's revelation to mankind -- you would have absolutely no doubts about who Jesus is, what He taught, how He lived, How He died and rose again, and ascended back to Heaven.

Therefore you owe it to yourself to honestly admit to yourself that you have not really acquainted yourself with the Gospels. Then get right down to it. If you are sincere and serious, God the Holy Spirit will convince you while you read the Gospels that it is God the Son (also called the Son of God, who generally called Himself the Son of Man) who became a sinless Man in order to die for the sins of the whole world.

The following extract was written centuries before Jesus Christ was born.

Isaiah 9:6-7
For a Child will be born to us, a Son will be given to us;
And the government will rest on His shoulders;
And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Eternal Father, Prince of Peace.
There will be no end to the increase of His government or of peace
On the throne of David and over his kingdom,
To establish it and to uphold it with justice and righteousness
From then on and forevermore.

Do you think that these verses are declaring His arrival?

Nothing wrong with talking things over with others but the real help comes from the Lord. Take it to Him; pour your heart out to Him and tell Him how you feel. That's where the real change starts.
