I loved Hey Arnold. It was about a boy growing up in the city with his grandparents. His parents were explorers and they went missing when he was a baby. The show ended without giving us closure back in 2004. Then a few years ago they did a movie where he finds his parents.
What made this show so good though was that Arnold was a very wholesome kid. His character is always willing to help people and he genuinely cares about his family, friends, and community. The show wasn't afraid of exploring serious topics either like war, poverty, and animal abuse.

Other shows that I liked were the Power Rangers, Sailor Moon, CatDog, The Powerpuff Girls, Arthur, Dexter's Laboratory, Rugrats and King of the Hill. LOL We would watch a lot of tv!

Ducktales was the beez kneez, He-Man, Ninja Turtles, Spider-Man, Batman, there were a lot of good cartoons in the 90's when I watched them. Not to mention all the classics already mentioned numerous times here.

There are too many to count. But I'll list the ones that come mind; Transformers, Rocket Robin Hood, Battle of the Planets, Superfriends, Spider-man, Hercules and Fat Albert.

At 5, Superfrieds. Why? It qas a cartoon. I don't even remember any other ar that age. Captain Kangaroo was for kids but it wasn't a cartoon.

And Superman could fly. That was cool. Aquaman. Could make fish do stuff. The Wonder Twins could turn into stuuf-- the sister Jana into animals and dinosaurs, the brother Zan into purple water-based stuff. The space monkey Gleek had the power to produce s bucket out of thin air to put Zan in. But they came later. When I was five, they probably had the weird looking teenager an his dog. Plot lines and narration appealed to five-year-olds.

Fore a little while my favorite cartoon was one where 'Z-Force' a group of young people that operated ships and vehicles would combine their vehicles into some bigger machine to fight badgers. I think the show was something or other of the Earth. I found it in YouTube a while back. These shows are a lot less entertaining now.

I know who a lot if the DC characters are through cartoons without having bought their comics so it was good for their branding.

Who was Nkeema? I saw that cartoon when I was a kid. I couldn't get why the gorillas could talk. Thinking back was that just about Tarzan's perception because he could speak their language.

It was cool how he could grunt at a snake and point and it would obey him, going where he pointed, a bit like a jungle aquaman. I don't think real jungles provide that many vines for transportation.

I don't know why I never took much to Aquamar but you're right, neither of them had really much of any superpower other than sonar-like animal communication skills. Nakeema was Tarzan's funny little monkey. The Gorilla's raised Tarzan and taught him how to speak better than the Johnny Weissmuller version (my personal explanation), but I never understood why N'kima couldn't speak at all even though he(or was it a she... if I recall correctly, pretty sure it was referred to as "he") was always trying.

I thought his monkey was Cheeta.

That's the live action version's, that Johhny Weissmuller portrayed, pet chimpanzee which is an ape (although I always watched that also just to see Cheeta). However, the cartoon version's looked more like a capuchin or a spider monkey. Perhaps this is why the cartoon wasn't called 'lord of the jungle' rather than 'lord of the apes.'

I thought we were talking about cartoons. I don't think the live action played when I was a child where I was at or I probably would have watched that.

Tarzan was not my favorite cartoon, but it was a cartoon, and I was 7, so I watched it. But my memory of the details are a bit fuzzy.

I realize there are other Tarzan cartoon since the one with N'kima, but I've never seen any of the newer ones. This is why I posted a pic that one, specifically. I loved cartoon in general back then and there were so many to watch so it wasn't that I didn't like Aquaman as much as I couldn't stand captain caveman but do realize many kids loved it. Unga Bunga.

Captain Caveman was annoying... but I watched it because it was a cartoon. It wasn't quite as bad as Tom an Jerry, where i wanted Tom to eat Jerry, and especially the Coyote and Road Runner. I really wanted Coyote to get rid of that annoying Road Runner.
