Many alternative sources are not free from ließ, too. Special those which feeding all this conspiracy theories.

Good question. I think most people care greatly about fitting in. Christians should only care about fitting in with Jesus. He told us wide is the way... narrow is the way... Anyone fitting in should worry which path they are on. Those who do Eph. 5:11 will be hated, called names and ridiculed by the god of this world and his followers.

Probably for the same reason so many embrace the lies of conspiracy theorists and Christian nationalist: Not much ability to think for themselves.
Individually each one of us has to build upon the measure of faith that was freely given us. If one does not stand for something they will fall for anything. Scripture tells us that when we have done all we can; stand. Ephesians 6:13
