I believe Israel was taken by surprise because GOD's hand is at work. I believe GOD is bringing nations together for his purpose.

Jesus said, "“Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. " Matt 10:34

Holy Spirit encounters me with confirmation each time I ask if this is the Ezekiel 38 war.
I don't "believe" much about this as He has told us for thousands of years this would take place and is one of the stages of these last of the last days.
Come quickly Lord Jesus that your will be done throughout your Creation.:)

Amen. God is on His throne, and everything will unfold exactly how He has declared.

And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.

Matthew 24:6-8 (KJV)

There will not be peace in Israel until they repent. and jesus returns.

This should not surprise anyone.. The world hates Israel for the same reason they hate the church. God has chosen them to be his people..

Even during the millennium (1000 year reign), he will rule with an iron rod, still people will not repent.

When he returns. we are told that ALL Israel will be saved.

We are told they will repent

we are told they will be restored.

we are told the will never again succumb to the sins of the fathers. which caused them to be removed from their land

He will rule them with an iron scepter and shatter them like pottery—just as I have received authority from My Father. Revelation 2:27

He will rule THE WORLD

Nice try

here let me use the sword

ez 37:
21 “Then say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; 22 and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all; they shall no longer be two nations, nor shall they ever be divided into two kingdoms again. 23 They shall not defile themselves anymore with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions; but I will deliver them from all their dwelling places in which they have sinned, and will cleanse them. Then they shall be My people, and I will be their God.

Psalms 2:
Why do the nations rage,
And the people plot a vain thing?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves,
And the rulers take counsel together,

Against the Lord and against His Anointed,[d] saying,
3 “Let us break Their bonds in pieces
And cast away Their cords from us.”

4 He who sits in the heavens shall laugh;
The Lord shall hold them in derision.
5 Then He shall speak to them in His wrath,
And distress them in His deep displeasure:
6 “Yet I have set My King
On My holy hill of Zion.”

7 “I will declare the decree:
The Lord has said to Me,
‘You are My Son,
Today I have begotten You.
8 Ask of Me, and I will give You
The nations for Your inheritance,
And the ends of the earth for Your possession.
9 You shall [h]break them with a rod of iron;
You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.’ ”

10 Now therefore, be wise, O kings;
Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
11 Serve the Lord with fear,
And rejoice with trembling.
12 [i]Kiss the Son, lest [j]He be angry,
And you perish in the way,

When His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.

This is speaking of Gentile nations.. Not Israel.

Keep trying my friend..

While everuthing that happens on thisbearth is under the providential hand of God. Many times He allows humans to just be their wicked self. This is evil men and evil governments doing their evil thing. This is Israeli nationalism vs Palestinian nationalism.
