two garden club ladies are going down for that they booked already and its quite expensive. I would like to go but feel like I would be a joiner Not sure where they staying. I think could go as a single or single supplement not sure how it works. When our club goes on tours everyone shares accomodations though only some husbands go with their wives. However our club isnt organsing this tour two are going independently as its too expensive to organise a trip for the whole club that far from aucks.

the churches Ive been to have mission trips but you either have to be rich to go on them or fundraise. i.e ask people for money.
Ive never been invited to go on any and transport is an issue. However I can just drive somewhere if I plan it myself and know the destination. Churches need to be inviting other churches so that we have wider networks or spheres of influence but it seems churches like to be independent and keep to themselves. It is kind of strange, like all the baptist churches dont really talk to each other they kind of split off and get divorced from each other...I dont know what the issue is, am not involved with church politics, its too messy

Yeah.. my church is independent baptist.. and yeah.. the other independent baptist churches don't really get together much. I know the people in another one well.. as their pastor was my pastor. I was going to that church. I still get on with their pastor well and would go to that church if it weren't for their pastor getting over exposure in the media. Feel like if I went there, politics would be talked about a lot and I don't like to talk politics.

Oh it's Linwood Fellowship Bible Baptist.
It is only KJV... I'm ok with using other Bibles as long as they are accurate to the Textual Receptus. I'm still getting used to the differences from what I've been taught to this one.
I was part of Christchurch Family Baptist and we merged with lfbb.
Carl Bromley was my pastor. Then he moved to plant another church . I stayed with CFB rather than moving
Anyway... I use Wattie for a nick name...my last name is Watson. My cousin in Nelson was Joanne Watson before she got married.

though a former pastor was a policeman in christchurch before he came up here though it was Henderson baptist, the other one I was going to for a while was Kelston Calvary Bible Baptist and the pastor name is Tim (sorry his last name has slipped my mind)
I do have a contact in Christchurch who have moved down, that were in my Bible study home group, though I have not been there after the earthquake.
I remember both times Ive been to christchurch very aware of how English it all is and everything good and proper, its a beautiful city, with the grand old cathedral and everything and how Christian it was supposed to be but it was always in the media with crimes happening there that everyone just called it 'Crimechurch'
The Anglican church had the stronghold of the place, but they seemed a bit rotten. A lot of white collar crime, child abuse, prostitution, gambling etc.
It needed a bit of shaking up honestly. I think Auckland is due for something soon though. Depends on whether Aucklanders are going to take God seriously. The last couple of mayors really made things worse. Though the new one we dont like but he got voted in anyway as ppl couldnt be bothered there was so low voter turnout.

Yeah when the 2011 earthquake hit here..Chch was getting too busy and had those problems as you say. I was wondering whether God was actually rebuking this city with that earthquake..but don't think that's a very sound idea with how natural disasters work. It was more likely part of the cycle of earthquakes over time in the region.

People do live where they know its not safe though as they have nowhere else to go. You cant just found a town or settlement or take land without some kind of covenant wth God. Church buildings also need to be consecrated..if thats the word if they are to be a permanent fixture you cant just plant a church and then neglect it.

Oh the private chat is all good to continue there. But anyways...
The consecrating thing is more Anglican and Catholic. I believe a building is nothing but bricks and mortar and the local body of believers is the church. So that body could have no roof over their head 😎

Social torture...trying to teach 3 classes in one classroom when you hardly know them. One kid acts up and it's chaos. I have not perfected the art of doing this yet. (60-70 children) Thankfully nobody fought or had a melt down though teachers don't help when they hand out cookies in the middle of your lesson. Or play cards...
I prefer smaller classes where the children actually want to be there and you know their names.
