Gospel of the Kingdom - Gospel of the Grace of God

Gospel of the Kingdom message began with John the Baptist. After John the Baptist is arrested. Jesus & the 12 proclaim the kingdom message. This message is preached to Israel/Jews only. (Remember John cited Jesus as the Lamb of God that takes away the sins the world)

The Kingdom message required repentance, baptism, faith & works. The message content: Jesus was Israel's long promised/waited for Redeemer/Messiah, the Son of God! No death & resurrection doctrine required they had the Levitical sacrificial system that dealt with sin.

Even though Jesus told the 12 He would suffer & die. They didn't UNDERSTAND! (Mark 9:31-4, Lk 18:33-34, Luke 9:44-45)

John 20:9 For as yet they knew not the scripture, that he must rise again from the dead.

John 12:16 These things understood not his disciples at the first: but when Jesus was glorified, then remembered they that these things were written of him, and that they had done these things unto him.

Although an epic change of doctrine takes place at the Council at Jerusalem (AD 50-51). The kingdom message isn't completely retired until the destruction of the Temple in 70AD

Paul was saved under the kingdom gospel message (Acts 9:20) And began preaching the kingdom message: Jesus was Israel's long promised/waited for Redeemer/Messiah, the Son of God!

Paul is converted in AD34, travels to Arabia (Gal 1:7, we can glean from Gal 4:4 where in Arabia, Mt Sinai. Paul receives his gospel of the grace of God message (Acts 20:24) the same place Moses received the law) Paul returns 3 years later (Gal 1:18).

The message the risen Lord gave Paul in Arabia, is foreign to the 12. Paul refers to his message as my gospel (Rom 2.16, 16.25; 2 Tim 2.8).

Paul's primary audience is gentiles. Paul's gospel message: Christ died for your sins was buried & rose on the 3rd day (1 Cor 15:1-4) for your justification (Rom 4:25)

Paul's salvation/gospel (given to him my the risen Lord Jesus) was Faith in these truths (1 Cor 15:1-4, Rom 4:25) plus nothing else/Faith & faith alone!

This message ends with the completion of the Body of Christ (Jews & Gentiles) at the catching-up (1 Thes 4:13-18).

Once the church is removed (the Holy Spirit with it) the 144k will preach the gospel of the kingdom unto all the world (Matt 24:14) & then shall the end (of the age) come.

Eph 1:
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:

10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:

11 In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

12 That we should be to the praise of his glory, who first trusted in Christ.

13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

(MY NOTE: They heard & believed (just like Cornelius) & were SEALED with that holy Spirit of promise)

14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

(MY NOTE) The Holy Spirit is Christ/God's deposit/promise/down payment on a purchased possession, US! BOUGHT with His blood (1 Cor 6:20, 7:23) DONE DEAL! Amen.

Jesus did all the work & deserves all the glory. All we need to is have Faith in Him & He will do the rest. His forever indwelling Holy Spirit (Jn 14:16) will teach the believer to Love, which will result in Godly living. When FAITH is the root, good works will be the fruit!

Are you suggesting that the kingdom message did not exist prior to John the Baptist's proclamation of it? If you are, then you are greatly mistaken. If not, then what exactly are you saying?

The post didn't intend to parse the entire OT. It's purpose was to highlight the dispensational divide bewteen the gospel ot the kingdom message (that's way to often applied to the NT Body of Christ) & the gospel of the grace grace of God. Which is the message for today's body of Christ.

If you read the post it refers to the long promised Messiah. It was common knowledge throughout Israel. The coming Redeemer/Messiah would rule the promised kingdom from Jerusalem.

John's day was repeatedly cited in OT scripture. PREPARE the way of the Lord: Mal 3:1, Matt 3:3, Mk 1:2, Mk 1:3. The post identified John's proclamation, Jesus was the Lamb of God/the good news of the promised kingdom.

How on earth is the Gospel preached without the Holy Spirit? 1Peter 1v12

Complete and utter nonsense, as Scripture teaches that the Holy Spirit is present upon the earth right through the age of Grace, right up until the Second Coming of Christ. Acts 2v16-21,38,39

The word "gospel" means "good news." Jesus preached the gospel of the kingdom to Israel. John the Baptist also preached the gospel of the kingdom, which was, "..Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matthew 3:2)

Jesus Christ sent the twelve to preach only to Israel. Matthew 10:5 - These twelve Jesus sent out and commanded them, saying: “Do not go into the way of the Gentiles, and do not enter a city of the Samaritans. 6 But go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel. 7 And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ The disciples were specifically told to go only to the people of Israel, and "Pre Cross" they were not yet preaching anything about the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. This shows that before the cross, the more distinct element to the content of the gospel of the grace of God that Paul taught and came to him through a revelation of Jesus Christ (Galatians 1:11-12) was still a mystery.

In Matthew 16:15, Jesus Christ asked His disciples, “But who do you say that I am?” 16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” 17 Jesus answered and said to him, “Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven.

Now Peter had no clue that Jesus Christ would be crucified, buried and resurrected, yet he did believe that Jesus was the Messiah. This is obvious when, only moments later, Peter rebukes Jesus Christ for saying he will be killed, and be raised again the third day" (Matthew 16:21). In verse 22, "..Peter took him and began to rebuke him, saying, “Far be it from You, Lord; this shall not happen to You!”

Before his death, Jesus told the twelve that he had to die and that he would rise on the third day. Looking back upon this passage we see this as Jesus speaking of an event that would change everything! However, it is unquestionable that the disciples were ignorant of its meaning.

“Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem...And they shall scourge him, and put him to death: and the third day he shall rise again. And they understood none of these things: and this saying was hid from them, neither knew they the things which were spoken. – Luke 18:31-34. hmm... that's strange if the gospel of grace that came through a revelation of Jesus Christ to Paul and was a mystery prior to that has the exact same content as the gospel of the kingdom. *This is where we need to RIGHTLY DIVIDE THE WORD OF TRUTH.

After his crucifixion, instead of anxiously waiting his resurrection, the apostles were still ignorant, disheartened at the death of their redeemer, and did not even at first believe the testimony of his resurrection. (Mark 16:14, Luke 24:19-24) It was not until after his resurrection that Jesus appeared to the apostles and opened their understanding. (Luke 24:44-47)

There is a more distinctive element to the content of the gospel which Paul received from Christ and is called "the mystery of the gospel." (see Ephesians 6:19 and compare with Colossians 1:26-27; 4:3) This new revelation is that the Gentiles are fellow heirs and fellow members of the body, and fellow partakers of the promise. (Ephesians 3:6) Such equality, Jew and Gentile united together in one body was previously unknown. The distinctive message of the church is that Jew and Gentile alike may believe the gospel and be united together into one body. (Ephesians 1:13; 1 Corinthians 12:13)

People today invariably confuse & mix the covenants/testaments.

Heb 9:
12 Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us.

13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh:

14 How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?

15And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

16 For where a testament is, there must also of necessity be the death of the testator.

17 For a testament is of force after men are dead: otherwise it is of no strength at all while the testator liveth.

(MY NOTE: While Jesus is alive the old covenant is in full force. SO HOW? While alive can people claim, Jesus was preaching the new testament/covenant? The kingdom message preached by the Baptist, Jesus & the 12 is void, of the ultimate Once for all Time sin payment & resurrection (which is proof Jesus is the Chosen One/Redeemer/Messiah). Israel had a sacrificial system that dealt with it's sin. As we've both articulated, Israel had no idea Messiah would die. The message/gospel of new covenant is: FAITH placed in Christ's sin atoning death & resurrection.

Paul reveals a mystery/a secret God kept hidden.

1 Cor 2:
6 Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:

7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:

8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

At Jesus death the veil of Temple (separating the holy place from the Holy of Holy) is ripped in two. Signaling the retirement of the OT sacrificial system.

If Christ's ultimate sin payment was known. The spiritual ruling powers & principalities of the darkness in this world, that dwell in high places (Eph 6:12) Would never have allowed Christ be killed.
