So how many of us has heard that in the last days there's going to come an end-time revival? Where then are the big meetings, the high powered evangelists, & the praise & worship ensambles?
When's it going to start?
Is it going to be world wide?
As close as we are to the coming of the Lord, you would think somebody would starting something by now.
I would like to get your thoughts about this before we look a little deeper into it. Thanks.

I've been hearing it's just around the corner for a long time now; at least since the '40s or '50s. Not that I lived back then but there were people preaching it then. I'm still wondering where it is in scripture. Seems to me it's mostly the product of the minds of a lot of self-appointed prophets.

Joel, Acts, Rom and more talk about this out pouring that Israel witnessed with the 120 and the gift of the Holy Spirit was poured out even on the Gentiles.

"And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, and your young men shall see visions."

It started right after Christ rose and has not stopped. Not believing in the gifts and baptism of the sweet sweet holy Spirit then you will miss allot.

I not to boast but I can only come to one conclusion as to why I have seen experienced thing of God is I read what He said and I just believe no matter what my eyes tell me no matter how I feel.. I just believe. So for me what my Father that cannot lie said in Joel is happening.. not stop for me.

How do you get from this a great end-time revival? I've asked a lot of people this and have never gotten a clear, reasonable answer, though it's used almost universally.

But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
Acts 2:16
The thing Joel said was fulfilled on Pentecost.

In Acts 2 Peter says:

"But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams:" Acts 2:16-17

I don't know what is that difficult to understand about "this is that." He's talking about the outpouring of the Holy Spirit happening then and there.

In scripture, we see that the early Christians believed the times they lived in were the "last days." See Hebrews 1:1-2 for example:

"God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time past to the fathers by the prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son,"

I have to agree with you on this. I dont think there will be an end time revival either and I think the scriptures they use was the outpouring of the Holy Spirit then too. But I do believe we are in the end times and that Jesus is returning soon. By end times we haven't come to the tribulation yet. In my opinion rapture soon, then tribulation. By soon I mean within the next ten years and on the sooner end of the scale than the later. If you can understand my ramble, congratulations!!

"Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour." 1 John 2:18

I think everyone is looking for a revival before the Tribulation. One thing for sure there is many who will preach the gospel in the Tribulation besides the two witnesses and the 144,000.

Rev 6:
9 When he opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne

does this mean you think it is soon or not because you are usually saying it is not soon??

I present this scripture as an example of how God deals with His church.

1Peter 4:12,13(NASB) Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal among you, which comes upon you for your testing, as though something strange were happening to you; 13but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that at the revelation of His glory you may also rejoice and be overjoyed.
17For it is time for judgment to begin with[from] the household of God; and if it begins with [from] us first, what will be the outcome for those who do not obey the gospel of God? 18AND IF IT IS WITH DIFFICULTY THAT THE RIGHTEOUS IS SAVED, WHAT WILL BECOME OF THE GODLESS MAN AND THE SINNER? (related - Ezekiel 9:6; Jeremiah 25:29)

Yes, it's going to be a revival of sorts, but no, in that it's not going to be the same kind of revival the church usually has, with special meetings & preaching & great excitement.
What does a christian experience before a revival? conviction, repentence.... then restoration. Anointed preaching & teaching usually brings conviction, but when that doesn't work, judgment will. Israel is a good example of this.

Now you're talking about a great end-time harvest of souls. Again, scripture support for this is weak if there's any at all.

There will be no great revival. In fact, the opposite is true: there will be a great falling away. Ironically, many are falling away and still "going to church". Some of the largest congregations are made up of the fallen.
