I am happy to hear that you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior. I read on your profile that you are looking for a church which is pleasing to Jesus, and the best way for you determine that is by reading the Bible for yourself in order to see what Jesus actually taught. It might be best to begin by reading one of the 4 gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, or John), and John's gospel might be the best place to start.

I also saw that you are from Nottinghamshire and that you are into history. If you are into the history of the Bible, and how it came to be translated into the English language, then one of the men who was highly responsible for that was born only about 2 1/2 hours away from you in Stinchcombe. I am talking about William Tyndale. He paid dearly for his efforts in that he was hunted down and eventually publicly strangled before being burned at the stake. I saw a good movie on his life once. Thank you I've heard of William but never knew it was so close me, that so cool I will defiantly do more research into that.

One of his predecessors was born even closer to you. I am talking about John Wycliffe, who has been called "The Morningstar of the (Protestant) Reformation". He was born in Hipswell, which I believe is a little leas than 2 hours away from you.

I have never really been interested in travelling to other countries, but I would love to see some of the sites in England where these men labored for the Lord.

I am in the UK yes and through many trials, I finally came to the realisation that I will always have doubts or find things I don't understand within Christianity but came to the conclusion this isn't a good enough reason not to accept Jesus.

I was wondering because God uses believers to help others to learn about Jesus. This might not always work, but I started attending the Baptist church that the believer attended who led me to Christ.
There are many different Christians on this board who attend all kinds of Churches.
It's admirable that you seek a good church.
I can offer a lot of advice, but the first thing in finding God's direction is to develope a good habit of daily bible reading. I would start with Proverbs one chapter per day. You will be done by the end of August.
Then I would read the Gospel of John.
When you do this, ask for the Lord to connect you with the best church within driving distance. He will want you to be taught by a pastor who teaches that God's Word is true and preserved correctly.

Here's the Bible, but I would bookmark it and buy a paper one with large print that's pleasant to read. Most have small print and makes Bible reading a challenge. Go with the
King James Bible

I definitely need larger print when reading any paper book

Thank you so much, I also think believers can bring others to Christianity or at least open their hearts to it which is a start, I think I can get really caught up in "doing things the right way" to the point where I could potentially loose sight of whats important which is to glorify and follow God and allowing Him to humble me.



My bible reading is struggling if I'm being honest but I'm going to start with proverbs like you said and hopefully this will set off a daily bible reading habit. I definitely need larger print when reading any paper book as I can skip lines when reading the text being small makes this more likely. I've been looking for a study bible so I can fully absorb what's being said as there's been far too many times I've read parts of the bible and can't even remember it after I've finished, if you have any study bible recommendations it would be much appreciated.

I've had a number of study Bibles recommended by friends and pastor's. What I've realized is that the very best is a Bible that is legible, because the font is large enough, and does not have commentary.
The commentaries in the margin interrupt the flow of reading, thought and instruction from within by the Holy Spirit. When we trust Christ as Savior, the Holy Spirit begins to live within us to quietly teach and bring the previously taught Scriptures to remembrance. This helps strengthen your faith little by little. The Bibles that are considered Study Bibles all have the study Bible author's commentaries throughout. I have yet to read one that does not make comments that undermine the faith of the reader and the truth of God's Holy Word, even those that claim to believe in the inspiration and preservation of the Bible. All that to say, I would look for a plain Jane KJV. It will cost less and leave enough margin space to note new things that the Holy Spirit reveals to you directly from His Word. Each time you read your Bible from cover to cover, your personal cross references and important principles will continue to grow with your faith.
