So, recently ran into someone who said, she was raped, and abused when she went to a Catholic School, when she was a child. She had this proven in the court of law, but why is this so common?!?! It seems leadership in the Roman Catholic Church are getting publicity from this type of issues all the time.

Why is this? Why isn't there more awareness? Why aren't these kids awarded massive amounts of money? Why is the Catholic Church not fined, or even shut down because of this?

"The report estimates that 216,000 children were abused by Catholic priests between 1950 and 2020, and that accounting for abuse by other Catholic church employees increases the total number to around 330,000. Around 80% of the victims were boys."

Pedophilia is global epidemic and the Catholic Church isn't the only institution involved or turning a blind eye. I am convinced now even major media and Disney is turning a blind eye, as they put the Sound of Freedom movie on the backburner until it was sold to Angel studios. Unfortunately there is a group of men, Catholic or not, who cannot be trusted with kids. This is prevalent in the stepfather/male relative group where crime is higher when compared to bio fathers, and also groups such as boy scouts etc. It's not just a Catholic Church thing.

I agree; sadly, it is not just a "Catholic" thing, but Catholics in particular are to blame for two reasons: they claim to be representatives of Jesus Christ and thereby malign His Name (woe unto them in the judgement!); and their own prohibitions both on priests getting married and on self-gratification means there are a lot of sexually frustrated priests. There are few who are genuine Christians and have the fruit of self-control from the Holy Spirit. The rest are helpless to restrain themselves.

Why aren't Roman Catholics called out on their false doctrine? Everyone likes to focus on priests molesting children: how about all the priests and bishops around the world molesting adults every day with their perversions of the gospel?

I think that's why their are protestants. Protesting against the Catholic Church doesn't seem to be in vogue lately, but their are some churches, that make an effort to point the errors of the Roman Church.

Freedom of religion is a right, so believing in false doctrines is a right in some respects, but I don't see any real justice for those children who have been sodomized by Catholic leadership. Maybe a slap on the wrist and lip service.

At this point the Catholic church should officially be recognized as a criminal organization.

Care to elaborate? Perhaps a list of "perversions of the gospel?"

The Bible says Christ is the intercessor between man and god. Catholicism puts a man back in that position.
Also praying to saints. Nowhere in the Bible does it say Christians are to pray to saints
They also keep billions of dollars in slush funds to move around pedophile priests and to pay out lawsuits for molesting kids. At this point they should be considered a criminal organization

Catholics don't pray to saints, they ask saints to pray for them. While the effectiveness of that is questionable, there's nothing wrong with asking someone to pray for you.
The Catholic church doesn't have a monopoly on hoarding money. There are several evangelical churches that do the same thing.

because catholic churches are interested in $ before God's work. they teach ungodly beliefs like the hail mary, confessing sins to a priest & salvation by works. they teach in seminary school that a priest must be celibate. God never taught that! see what happens when you make up your own rules? (Proverbs 30;6). the catholic church has forked over 100's of millions of $! the catholic church also has powerful ties to this & that. beware of the resurgence of the unholy roman empire!

Well, this is a discussion forum. I'll go first if you prefer, but I won't go only.
True, it's a discussion forum; but I'll put it as plainly as I know how: Find someone else to discuss this with. I'm not interested in discussing it with you.

I'm your Huckleberry.

Went to 8 yrs Catholic School. Grew up going to Mass every Sunday. Most of my very large extended family remain Catholic, albeit most wishy washy. The damnable heresies are numerous. Rather than list them., tackling them 1 at a time is more productive.

Purgatory/Indulgences.

Purgatory is the belief that after a person dies, they have to spend an indeterminate amount of time suffering, to pay for any venial sins Jesus didn't pay for them.

Indulgences are the practice of giving money to the church, with the goal of knocking time off some of the required amount of time suffering in Purgatory.
Catholics will try and say this practice has ended, but I know for a fact that it hasn't. People BOUGHT Mass cards and candles when my mom died. The idea is that if a Mass is said in that person's name, it will deduct time they have to suffer in Purgatory.

Disgusting, damnable practice!

I agree that Purgatory is part of their gospel message that they present. The blood of Jesus covers all of the sins of those who are saved.
Indulgences, while not part of the gospel message by the Church is a terrible practice that takes advantage mostly of the poor to enrich the church. There are also many non-Catholic churches that do something similar under a different name.
