Hi, I would just like to ask for a prayer from someone to remove all obstacles in my way, to remove any evil forces holding me back, and for me to receive obvious guidance as to what to do, or not do, as I have literally no idea what I am doing or where I am going anymore.

I am nearly 40 and have asked and prayed and got next to nothing other than an empty uneventful life of a nearly "dead church" with nice people who do their own thing in private, and I'm left to myself like everyone. Though I know quite a lot about the bible (for an average "loser" person) I have not direction of travel. I literally sit in my room doing nothing, thinking of something to do, but it seems God is holding me in a place to become an empty "mindless monk" or something, as there has been no progress in learning or desire or guidance or anything of joy hope or love or even selfishly money or leaving home, other than slowly being "forced" to give up more and more of everything leading to I don't know what, other than empty "monk like silence", with no "salvation work or fruit" etc. Where is the "fruit" or "blessings" or "rewards", or what do I do about this other than pray? Reading is also of no direction and seems dull with no point of use anymore, only in the beginning did God seem to do "much" then it seems "next to zero support"?

So yeah, a prayer to get rid of obstacles, but not to go against Gods will, if I am meant to end up "brainless" and of "no use" like "monks" seem etc. I thought christianity promised more than "emptyness and inactivity". Why give someone a brain if you want them to live like a "sheep"?
Anyway, any help appreciated, thanks. As you can tell I am a rubbish christian, sorry, but thanks for any prayer of help.

There is no such thing as a rubbish Christian. Use this time to discover who you are in Christ and who He is in you. For example, read the first two chapters of Ephesians and write down everything that God says that you are in Christ. Don't try to understand it. Accept that when God says something, He means it. I know that everything will come against you to try and convince you otherwise. Reject the lies. Accept the truth and then declare it, especially when doubt and unbelief argue against you.

Jesus said, "I am the Life". Not nearly enough Christians know this truth. If we did, the church would be transformed. Ephesians 1:22 & 23 tells us that Christ is the Head of the Body. Stay fixed on Him and forget about yourself. It goes on to say that the Church is the fulness of Him who fills all things.

God requires us to exercise faith. In the very early days of our Christian lives, everything seems to go well. Prayers get answered, we feel wonderful and God seems real and close. This is mostly feelings. Feelings are not truth and they are not faith. Feelings can change with the weather or if we have a good night's sleep. Truth is unchangeable no matter what. Trust God and declare what He has done for you in Christ. Declare Galatians 2:20, especially when you don't feel spiritual. I used wonder how to get "into the Spirit". Then I read Romans it. It tells me that I am already in the Spirit, because Christ lives in me.

Satan will lie to you in order to get you into unbelief. Resist the devil by declaring God's word. It worked for Jesus in the wilderness!

Sometimes we ourselves are our greatest obstacle... So we need to study the Word, pray, and then stand up and start walking forward. Sometimes we need to walk outside of our comfort zone.

Lord

I pray Dave would see himself as your image bearer. I pray you give Dave encouragement and show him the path you have laid out for his life. Reveal to Dave what it means to be a child of God, a son ,an apprentice and friend of Jesus . I pray you would open Dave’s eyes that the Christian life involves every day of our tangible practical lives today and that relationship with you Lord is a experiential dynamic relationship ever deepening. I pray you would speak to Dave’s heart and show him that you are a mighty warrior God who does move powerfully today all through our lives. Show Dave that we live in a God breathed world, that life in you God is something to be experienced not only in a church service but in everyday life as we look to you for divine guidance.

In Jesus name amen

Im not sure if you are still around Dave but have you stopped to think about just who you are as a child of God? Have you fully embraced that yet? We have this new identity in Christ and that means we can begin to live out of that new identity today where we are. You’re bored with the typical church life? I get it. Lean into the idea that your masculine heart was made in the image of a mighty warrior God and that you have been called forward for a purpose . I’d encourage you to watch a few movies called courageous, fireproof and another called Woodlawn for some divine inspiration. It may help give you something concrete to look at for encouragement. For a deeper dive what helped me get some direction in life was a video study called Stepping up by Dennis Rainey.
